(We are on hiatus on this time. Back in time eight years.)
It was a crisp Tuesday in March and Ruby Flack was cutting the mandatory prep rally. She was annoyed that all classes were being put on hold so that everyone could watch a bunch of obnoxious cheerleader squawk predictable cheers for the home team that hadn't won a game in twenty years. Yawning softly she walked over to the cherry blossom trees for some shade while she read over the current lesson in her history text book.

Dawson had escaped the noisy pep rally and save himself a headach. He hated the human screams it gav him such a migrain. He had his science book with him and he decided to park it on the grass and read and study for a test coming up.

Ruby walked towards the cherry blossom trees and stopped when she noticed a glinting light from the trees. As she stepped forward she saw that the glinting light was actually the sun shining down on someone's hair. It was a very light corn silk blonde and she found herself very capitivated by it, and then by the boy who the hair belonged to. For a few minutes she allowed herself to watch him before shaking it off and picked a soft patch of grass underneath a shady tree.

Dawson layed on his back and yawned. He was bored and lonely. If only he was more sociable.

Ruby spent a good five minutes with her nose tucked into her history book before finally giving up her lame attempt to ignore the beautiful boy who was only sitting a few yards away from her. Sighing, she got up and walked over to the boy and took a seat beside him. She didn't say anything, but laid back underneath the sun and closed her eyes. Somehow it felt good just laying there next to him.

Dawson opened his eyes and looked at the girl who just decided to come lay by him. Well he got his wish to be more sociable. He couldn't keep his eyes off her! She was just so...Beautiful! Even that word didn't even fit her! Breath takingly fantastic ok no words could decribe her. Her red hair was so inviting to touch, to stroke. He didn't even know her and he was already swooning!

Ruby was quite the dish. Her waist length red hair was silky looking and shown in the sunlight. Her features were quite mature although there was still the slightest hint of childishness that was given off by the few freckles that dotted the bridge of her nose. A soft yawn passed her lips and she rested her hand to her mouth until it passed. Relaxing against the bark of the tree, she closed her eyes.

Ok, if this was her way of saying, Hey I like you be mine, He didn't even need her to say it. He couldn't keep his eyes off her. It was like cupid had been flying by them and struck him with a billion of arrows at once. He could just marvel her for hours on end. Just watch her gentle lips in take air which was primarily made up of nitrogen (78.09%) and oxygen (20.95%). The remaining 1% is made up of argon (0.93%), carbon dioxide (0.03%) and other trace gases (0.003%). Water vapor (water in its gaseous state) is also present in air in varying amounts. She even made him think nerdy thoughts! Oh she was good.

Ruby could feel his eyes upon her and couldn't help but be happy that he was looking at her. Perhaps she was being vain but she really couldn't help it. After a good ten minutes or lounging back against the tree she opened her eyes and sat up. Reaching into her messanger bag she reached for a shiny red apple and took a bite, licking with the tip of her tongue at the juices that lingered on her lips.

Dawson just kept his eyes on her. When she started to eat the apple that was just like a teasing sensation. Apples and Roses are actually related to each other in the plant kingdom and each has thousands of varieties..... he thought. Why was he thinking these things! He wished he had a rose......

Ruby sighed contently once she had finished eating her apple and then wiped at her lips with the back of her hand. From the corner of her eye she looked over at the blonde haired boy who sat next to her. He was beautiful in a magical sort of way and she felt very shy and unworthy to be so close to him. A soft yawn passed her lips and she tucked some of her red hair behind her ear.

He looked at her loved strucked. "....What is your name..." he asked softly in almost a whisper.

A soft gasp passed from her lips for she had not expected for him to have said anything to her at all that afternoon. "My name," she murmured softly, turning her head to look at him. "Is Ruby Flack." What did this mean now? Blushing softly, she looked at him with an interested look in her eyes. "What's your name?" He didn't seem particularly familiar to her.

" Dawson" he said softly looking at her with soft eyes.

Ruby blushed and eventually needed to drop her gaze from him. There was this way that he was looking at her that felt so intense. His features seemed soft and fragile. While he wasn't sickly looking this was the vibe that she was getting from him. Dawson was quiet and she couldn't remember ever having come across him previously in school. "Are you new here?" she asked.

" Not really. I came here last year. " he explained with a soft angelic voice.

Ruby flushed a color that could have rivaled her hair and feared that she had offended him. "I'm sorry," she muttered. "I can't really remember seeing you in any of my classes." It felt weird for her to say this because they did not go to a particularly large school. Pretty much everyone knew everyone and had shared at least one class together during their high school years.

" I try not to stick out." he said ever so softly. His eyes more intense as he looked at her hair and lips.

Ruby rested against the bark of the tree as she continued to talk to him. "It's a pretty small school to not stick out in." she mumbeled, laughing softly. "Well, I suppose it's a good thing that I caught you now or I might not have ever meant you." Ruby wasn't sure what point she was trying to get across and why it was so important that she had meant him. The last thing she wanted was for him to think she was some sort of creeper.

" I'm glad you did" he said gently. He wanted her to know he was interested in her.

Ruby smiled a bit and pulled her legs into her chest and rested her head on her knees. "It is important, I guess, that we meet new people in high school even if it is near the end of senior year." She chuckled a bit. It was just like her to meet any sort of person when it was almost time for her to part with said person. Glancing down at her watch she saw that the pep rally would be over soon. "Oh," she murmured, "We'll be able to go back to class soon."

" I have lunch next and then band." he shrugged his broad shoulders. " Not much for the rest of the day, I suppose. Random pep rallly disrupted my study hall."

It had been silly of her to have assumed before that he had taken any sort of interest in her. "I only have another class before I have to leave school." she answered quietly. When the time had come for her to pick classes she had decided to only have eight classes as oposed to the usual nine. She had enough credits to get away with it. She glanced down at her watch. "The bell should go off soon." she started to stand up. He wouldn't miss her, but he would probably haunt her memory for a long time. "It was nice meeting you." she said, gathering her things and then starting to walk off.

He blinked really fast and stoood up. " H-Hey wait up." he said running after her, " Um....would you like my number...and maybe....go out on a date...saturday? i mean you don't have to...I just though it would be...nice but you don't have to I mean you don't know me and I know you probably get this alot and well...I mean doesn't hurt to ask does it? I mean....Gahh" his face flushed when he realized how much of an idiot he probably was.
