When he didn't come upstairs with her, she walked down the stairs to see what was the matter. "Darrick, aren't you going to come to bed?" she asked, walking over to the couch and caressing his cheek. They still kept the same old couch that the twins had been concieved on. While it had been old and moth eaten before, Carmella and Darrick had cleaned it up now. It was reupholstered with a more flattering fabric, and was scrubbed down and clean.

" I thought I'd stay down here for a bit. Just to think. " Darrick said gently nuzzling her hand.

"I'm sorry for all I've put you through," she whispered, "If I could take it all back-" Carmella paused. If she could take it all back, that would mean that she would not have Clover, and she simply could not imagine a life without her first daughter, the past five years had been hard enough. She sighed. "I wish I could make things a little easier for you.

" Clover is fine, I always wanted another child, I just didn't expect to have one through this manner." Darrick shrugged, " but I love her all the same."

She didn't look up, "But you wish that she was your's." Carmella said softly. And that I hadn't been his before I had met you. Deep down, behind her smiles and sweet words, Carmella held a lot of inner pain and insecurities. For a very long time and even at some points now, she did not like who she was. It was just hard for her to like herself. She had always been so weak and unspoken; When one person had showed her the slightest bit of affection she couldn't have helped but wanted more with all of her heart.

" I will love her like she was my own" Darrick said gently.

Darrick was such an honorable man; It only made her feel even more self hatred. Only someone as insufferable as herself would taint such a perfect man and bound him to her forever. He deserved better; She still believed this with her whole heart. What was the point in lying to herself and telling herself that she deserved all of the happiness that she had?

Darrick took her hands gently, " I love you."

"I love you, too." Carmella answered back, her voice slightly shakey. Why was it so hard for her to love herself? Why? It didn't seem fair that she felt so tortured and trapped within her own life. Rarely did anything in her life ever seem fair. Except for Darrick. Looking sadly into his eyes, she pressed her lips to his.

" What is wrong" he asked gently kissing her back.

She looked sadly in his eyes once more as she kissed him. "Please just stay with me," she whispered, "Cradle me inside your warmth." Brushing her lips against his jaw bone and then the column of his neck, she closed her eyes, soft groans emitting from her lips. For a while Carmella would need Darrick. She would need him for support and most of all for love.

He kissed her back very deeply.

Carmella groaned softly in his kiss, gently pulling his body against her own. The feel of his weight and warmth brought her a sort of security and warmth that she adored. It felt good to be so close to Darrick; To know that he actually wanted to be with her, to be so close to her that he could feel her warm breah against him, and hear the sound of her heart beating frantically in her chest.

" Would you like to take a bath?" he asked gently.

Carmella nodded her head. "Yes, please." she murmured softly, looking gently into his beautiful blue eyes. Shew knew that Darrick could feel her stress, and also knew that all he wanted was to calm her. Darrick was the kind of man who would do whatever it took to bring a smile back to a person's face. She was lucky enough to have him love her.

Darrick got up and went to warm up her bath. He would join her and he would calm her tense body.

Carmella watched him walk away to prepare her bath and began to cry softly to herself. She really did not like who she was; She was not able to let go of her past life and who she had been. Why was it that Darrick wanted to be with such a disaster? Wiping at the hot tears, she took in several gulply breaths as she tried to calm herself.

Carmella sighed softly and wiped at her tired eyes. Getting up from the bed, she walked over to the sound of Darrick's voice. Walking into the bathroom she looked over at the tub which was filled with warm, sudsy water. Nodding her head in acknowledgement of this, she began to undress. During her depressed state, Carmella seemed even smaller and delicate than usual.

Darrick closed the bathroom door and undressed infront of her.

Her heart fluttered in her chest as he closed the door. Her gaze washed over his strong, masculine body as she watched him undress. He was doing this for her, and she felt bad that she could only stand there and blush foolishly. As Darrick stripped from his usual clothes, she continued to blush, her eyes widening in amazement over the body that had loved her and held her all of those nights.

Darrick was slightly stiff. He got into the bath tub with her.

The warm water of the tub easily heated her little body. Sighing gently to herself, she watched as he got into the tub, her cheeks a light pink color. "Darrick.." she murmured softly, gently moving towards him once he had taken a seat in the bath tub. Her hands reached out for him, and gently rested on his chest. She could feel the soft beating of his heart. Closing her eyes, she rested her head on his chest, listening.

He smiled gently rubbing her back.

"It's my favorite sound in the whole world, you know." she said softly, listening intently to the beating of his heart. She gently placing a kiss to his chest, and then opened her eyes to look at him. "I love you." she whispered softly, meaning it with all of her heart and soul. Sitting up, she brushed some of his hair from his eyes and kissed him tenderly.
