I Am Not Afraid to Keep on Living ~Private~

Damien sighed nodding, " Lizzy is right. why did he leave so early" he yawned.

"He had an early call." Carmella said, sighing. It really was hard to explain something to a pair of two year old twins who wanted nothing more than to see their daddy everyday before he went to work. "It's not uncommon. It might be happening a lot more, actually." she added.

Damien frowned, " Why?"

"Because Daddy's business is starting to become better known." Carmella explained, taking the children into the kitchen. Placing them in their highchairs, she then reached for their bibs, and tied them around their necks. "It isn't that bad being with Mommy, is it?" she asked sadly, faking a pouty face.

"Nuuu" Damien whinned and kissed her cheek.

Carmella laughed. "Aww, Sweetie. I only put the bib on because I don't want either of you to mess up your jam-jams." she said softly. She couldn't help but be happy that the twins were still at the age where jam-jams was an acceptable word.

Damien started to sneeze and he covered his nose , " nnghhh"

Carmella laughed, and then wiped at his nose with a napkin. Once Damien was taken care of, she then started to prepare their breakfast for them. Darrick had left out an impressive spread, all of the food beautiful and delicious looking.

Darrick tried to make breakfast when he could for them. To give Carmella a break, knowing she had to cook a big dinner when he got home. He tried his best to not let everything stress her.

Unfortunately, they were going through a very stressful time. What with Darrick having met Charles first hand, and knowing what kind of a fiend and a pervert that he was. Sighing to herself, she then placed the two small plates on the twins highchairs.

" Mmmm fooddd" Damein smiled happily.

Carmella chuckled softly. Now that the twins were two years old- almost three- they were able to feed themselves. What this meant was that she no longer had to worry about running back and forth to feed them.

Damien picked up his little fork and stabbed at his eggs.

Carmella laughed as she watched the two, and then took a seat at the table to start eating her own breakfast. Licking her lips, she smiled, silently thanking Darrick for breakfast. When he did choose to cook, he really did show off his skills.

" Ew Green Peppers" Damien said frowning at the green squares.

Carmella chuckled. "There aren't ew," she said, shaking her head. "They're very good for you." She was very much against letting the twins being picky eaters, and wanted them to be able to eat whatever was put infront of them. This was partly due to how she had been underfed when she had worked as a scullarly maid for Charles.

" Mommy, is everything that is yucky good for me?" he asked looking ath er.

"It isn't yucky." Carmella protested. "You're just being picky. If you look at something and say that you don't want it, it's only natural that your body is going to reject it. If you look at something and say, "Yum! I want to eat this!" then your body is going to like it." she explained.

" Doesn't explain the nasty taste" he pouted.

"It only tastes nasty because you think it is going to taste nasty." Carmella explained, sighing softly. Running a hand through her thick black hair, she quietly urged the twins to eat. She was relieved that at least Lizzy was listening.

Damien sighed softly. He didn't want to get a talk with daddy if he kept back talking. He just ate and shut up.

Sometimes, even if you didn't want to, that was just the best thing to do. Carmella, pleased that both of the twins were eating, started to eat her own breakfast, enjoying immensly what Darrick had prepared for her. She wasn't sure whether or not if it was his way of buttering her up so that she would be willing to talk about her past with Charles.

Darrick hardly talked about his own past.

Once Carmella had finished eating, she cleaned up the twins and then dressed them. Their third birthday was coming up, and she was debating on whether or not they would be old enough for daycare. There wasn't much of a reason for her to put them in a daycare considering the fact that she didn't have anywhere to go during the day.

Darrick couldn't believe how fast the twins were growing.
