Bloody nights~ Moonangel

Lauren got home and closed all of her curtains, as to block out the soon to be incoming light. She then took a shower and went to sleep. She had to get sleep before the next night came about.

With a final sip from the bag, Darren threw it away, taking a deep breath. "Well, time for my 'nap'" he muttered, glad that his blinds were always closed. He got into bed, then stayed in the same position for most of the day, only moving about an inch only once.

Lauren woke up when the sun started to set. She always got up around that time, like clockwork. Even so, she kept her alarm set in case for some reason her body didn't bother waking her up. She yawned and shut off her alarm clock before it could go off, and then slipped out of bed. She made some 'breakfast' for herself, which was a mix between what one might eat for breakfast and what one might eat for dinner, consisting of toast and soup. It was an odd choice, but she didn't car much. Lauren then ate her food, got dressed, and did whatever else one might deem needed to get ready. Today, she decided to put her hair up in a ponytail and a bit of makeup, but not much. After that, she left the house, locking it as she went out, and drove off to work in her car.

Of course, Darren was there 'early'. He was already waiting by the door for Lauren. Then again, he could've snuck in. That would be suspicious, so he kept quiet and didn't try. Once he saw her car coming into the parking lot, he waved. The highbeams or at least one of them hit his eyes, flashing red back.

Lauren saw him as she parked her car. She climbed out and began walking towards the door. "Hey. You're early" she said, a bit surprised that he would be. She was used to her employees showing up a minute or two late, not getting there early. She was a bit iffy on him at the moment, as he seemed... strange sometimes.

"Yeah, well, I'd like to get here early. Well, get early to anything. I would hate to be late." Darren said, winking. As she opened the door beside him, he caught a scent off her. Some kind of perfume, but, he couldn't place it. Maybe it wasn't even perfume at all. He shuddered quietly, walking in after she entered the building. It was cold, as usual, which fit his own temperature just fine. "Well then, what's on tonight's agenda?"

"Huh, lemme think" she said, walking over to her desk where she kept her to-do list. She flipped through it for a moment before nodding and setting it down. "We need to get rid of some older blood, and do some packing of blood to sent a couple of nearby hospitals. Other than that, we'll just have to see what needs to be done" she said with a shrug. She knew that would probably be working out taxes while he did some of that, and then she might join him in fixing some things.

Darren almost smirked at the mention of old blood. Old blood is blood. Hopefully not too clotted. He hated it, and it certainly would kill him, but still, he couldn't feed on humans for a while. This was a thing he did not too often, but enough to keep his identity out of people's attention. "Alright, I guess you can help me out.." he shrugged, going to the walk-in freezer and pressing his numbers on the number pad to open the lock. Going inside, he shuddered, seeing blood, old and new, fresh....His fangs came out once more from his excitement, but he calmed down slightly.

She shrugged and walked in after him. It was an easy enough job, really. All you had to do is check the dates on the packs of blood. Any that were older than a month or so she normally got rid of. Most wouldn't consider that old, but that was just the way she did things. She glanced over at him, seeing him shudder, and smiled a little. She figured the cold got to him. She was already used to it, of course.
Lauren began going through the packs of blood, checking dates. The ones she considered old, she put in a cart nearby. She always kept a cart nearby, just for this reason. Otherwise she risked a bigger chance of dropping a pack of blood, and it bursting open. When she had first started, that had happened to her more than once. It wasn't pleasant. "So, how was your day, if you had much of one?" she questioned.

As Lauren began putting away packs of old blood into a cart aside, Darrin shuddered again. Control. He had to control himself. "Want me to throw these old packs away?" he asked, his voice shaky as he went to the cart and gritted his teeth. He had to get out, before the scent of the blood got to him and he was forced to feed off her.

She walked over to him and studied him for a moment. Something didn't seem right... She checked the dates on the blood and nodded. "Yes, just put them in the cart" she said, and studied him a moment longer. "Hey, are you okay?" she asked, a bit concerned. His voice had been shaky, and he seemed cold when he came in. Not much got past her, realy. But she had been questioning what was going on with him alot lately. He seemed.... different. And there had been many times when she had overlooked the things he did that seemed odd, or things she had seen as a trick of the light.

Just with her steps he flinched. His head pounded and he couldn't stand the smell of the blood and what seemed like her perfume all mixed together into one irresistable scent. He looked up at her over his shoulder, shuddering. "I'm fine. I'm just down with the flu is all.." he muttered, gulping and seeing his vision beginning to blur with his hunger increasing. He rushed out of the room with the cart, or rather, he powerwalked out and closed his eyes tightly once in another hall, panting again.

Lauren stared out after him. She'd never had the flu like that. She had a feeling that wasn't what was wrong. He left the room pretty fast, and it seemed strange to her. She sighed and pulled out another cart to put blood in and after a minute, decided to go out and checkon him. If he needed, she would maybe give him the night off.

"I-I need to feed....God." he groaned, gritting his teeth and feeling his fangs ache for fresh and warm blood. He gulped down some of the old blood, almost puking. His body resisted it. He needed fresh blood. He fell on his knees. He couldn't feed. Not again!

Lauren found him not long after leaving the freezer. He didn't look too good, and it looked like he had just ripped open one of the bags of blood. It was all over his mouth. She couldn't manage to say anything for a moment. She just stared. Then she took a hesitant step forward. "You alright?" she questioned, though she kept her distance. "That blood... not the best thing for you to be doing with it...." She stopped where she stood now, not sure whather it was safe to come closer or not.

He panted, looking over with his eyes glazed over, it seemed they were tinted a bit gold. He looked how a predator would look when watching it's prey. Darrin stood, licking the blood and shuddering. "I...I'm a vampire, and right now...I'm starving.." he said, closing in on her and chuckling darkly.

"Well, why didn't you just say so" she said with a weak laugh. She could tell he was telling the truth. It wasn't just someone playing a joke on her. She started to back away in the direction of the freezer. "We can, um, get you some... newer blood... if you need it.." she said, not really able to break eye contact. The plan in her mind was to lure him back to the blood freezer, lock him in, and hope he drank some of that. Then she'd tally what he had taken and ask him nicely to pay for it. She tried to hold on to those thoughts, but it was a bit hard to think like that when a vampire was right in front of you, and seemed to be headed for you. After just telling you his secret and witnessing that.... mess just a minute ago.

"If you think I can't read your thoughts, well then, you're sadly mistaken." Darrin said, pushing her against the wall within seconds and smirked. He had the strength of ten men if not more. "Now, I can trust you won't tell anyone about my secret?" he asked, looking over her and licking his lips. He was hungry. Now.

"I-I won't tell.." she said and smiled uneasily. Who woiuld believe her anyhow? They'd probably put her in the mental ward if she went to the police and rambled on and on about vampires. No, she wouldn't tell, though she didn't know what she would do about this situation in the longrun. She could feel her heart beat pick up a little, though she was trying to stay calm as well as she could.

"Would you be willing to donate?" Darrin smirked, chuckling at his little joke. He could easily drink the fresh blood and leave, but this was too much fun. He rubbed his nose over her neck, taking in her scent and feeling her heart beat racing. "It's best if you just give in now, I'd hate to rip into your jugular vein and let you die of blood loss.."

Lauren gave some thought to this. It wasn't her idea of an awesome night, and she wasn't ready to give up just yet. Even so, having her jugular vein ripped out didn't sound like much fun. She glanced around, and realized there wasn't much of a way out here. "Not much else I can do, is there?" she questioned, feeling her heart pick up a little more.

Darrin hissed quietly, nibbling at her neck gently. He wasn't yet to bite her, but he was close to. His morals (which were very slim) were telling him to not give in. But to think of that sweet blood, how lovely it would be to let it run down his throat and give him immense energy. It just was a guilty pleasure. Without second thoughts, he bit, sucking greedly of her blood and pressing against her.

Lauren let out a small gasp, feeling his fangs sink into her skin. Her fingers dug into his shoulder and she tried to keep from moving too much. She had tried to move once and it had just made it hurt worse. She concentrated on the light switch on the other wall, trying to contain her instincts of pulling away as quickly as possible. She figured that may make it worse.

Darrin grunted, growling as he felt her trying to pull away. As he fed, he was already feeling her panic. It wasn't normal for another human being to bite you in the neck. He pulled away after five minutes, knowing she would be on the verge of passing out. He licked his lips, panting and looking at her with glazed over eyes.

Lauren wasn't sure what to think. She felt weak, nonetheless. She slid to the floor, not sure she could manage to stand any longer. She felt like she was on the verge of passing out. She let her gaze remain on him now, watching his movements and such. She wasn't sure what to think. An actual vampire. It almost seemed impossible, something you'd only ever see in the movies. She wondered idley if he'd bother to kill her, or if he'd just leave her here.
