Bloody nights~ Moonangel

"Want me to take you home?" Darrin asked, chuckling darkly and smirking. His fangs were still visible as he licked his lips. The blood was stained, but he didn't mind. He picked her up, going over to the desk and laying her down on it. He'd take her home, but then he'd have to disappear. As usual.

She wasn't sure what her reponse to that would be. It was hard to concentrate on much of anything. Take her home? How odd, considering she had the feeling he was as... good as he had seemed before this whole thing. She tried to figure out how to make a coherent response, and then figured, hey, he can read my mind, right? So she thought to herself, sure you can take me home, considering it's that or I'll spend the night here. She knew there wasn't a way she could get herself home, without getting herself killed. She wouldn't be able to concentrate on the road very well, she was sure. Part of her feared, even so, what would happen if he just decided there was no point in letting her live. She was a firm believer in living.

"The only reason I was so weak, was because I was trying to stay off of humans for a while. It only lasted a few years." Darrin explained, sighing as he wiped whatever blood was on his mouth off with his hand. "I would need to drive you home...so, tell me where to go." he said, picking her up and walking out of the facility. She had no choice but to rely on him.

She sighed and decided she might as well. She told him the directions as well as she could remember, speaking aloud this time. She was glad the building had an automatic locking system that activated after an hour. It only kept people out, not keeping people from leaving.

Darrin knew this was an inconvenience for him. All too well. But still, he couldn't leave a victim here to bleed to death. It wasn't his style. Usually. He went into her car after grabbing the keys, setting her inside and himself in the driver's seat. Driving her home, he raised an eyebrow towards that system. "What kind of system is this, how do you even afford it just because you're running a blood facility?" he asked, thinking it was odd.

"You know, sponsors. And saving money. You know what a pain it is when people break into my workplace? Some people save their money for new cars and sound systems. I saved mine for a new security system" she said with a wry smile. It had worked well enough, but it had taken a while to save for.

Darrin nodded, finding it unbelieveable that she was still so chipper. Even after being fed upon by a vampire which was also going into her house. Wow. Once the system was down and they were allowed inside, he laid her on the couch. "Rest here, where are your bandages?" he asked, meaning the long strips of cloth meant to wrap around and not bandaids.

"Bandages..." she thought about it for a moment. She really didn't want him wandering aorund her house. She normally never trusted anyone in her house. Ever. "Don't worry about it. I don't need any bandages." she said, figuring that the bleeding would stop soon enough. She really wasn't that bothered by having him around. If he wanted to do somehting, she was sure he would've already done it. He had already clearly shown who had all the power and such here. She still had that slight fear anyone may have when thinking about the thought of maybe dying, but she wasn't the time that tried to dwell on it too much.

"Would you rather it be infected?" Darrin asked as he sat down and watched her neck. It seemed to stop bleeding, but the blood was still there, which bothered him to no means of measure. "You won't die, either....I don't kill my prey, not unless they try to kill me and so far, you've proven to be docile and smart enough to know your boundaries." he said, closing his eyes and sighing.

"So far" she said with a smile, not able to help herself. "And if you insist, you can find some bandages in the bathroom closet.." She didn't feel like having it bandaged up, but she didn't feel like having it get infected either. Either way she wouldn't be happy, so why not just go along with what he wants?

"Alright, good that you finally came to your senses." Darrin said as he went into the bathroom closet, looking for the bandages. Afterwards, he came back, taking out a bit of alcohol that was on a wipe and dabbed it over the bite marks. "It's going to sting." he said, continuing to do so. After that, he then wrapped the bandages over the bite marks and surrounding her neck.

She rolled her eyes when he said she had finally come to her senses. She waited mostly patiently and wince when he put on the alcohol. She still wasn't sure all this was necessary. Hadn't he ever heard of bandaids? "Are you done?" she questioned when he stopped, sounding more exasperated and irritated than she meant to. It was like being around her mom all over again, worrying about little things like this.

"Don't be so childish. I'm trying for you not to get infected. I never do this for those I feed from, I usually just leave em there. So, be thankful." he said, hissing a bit to scare her. Darrin then pulled away, sitting on the couch instead of leaning over her. "Take your vitamins and if possible, iron. I might feed from you more than once.." he warned, looking away as if it was a casual conversation.

She rose an eyebrow and had to keep herself from laughing. He really thought it wold be that easy? Surely he didn't believe she wouldn't put up any kind of fight. That would be stupid on his part. "What makes you think you'll be... feeding from me again?" she asked, almost curiously. She still had a bit of that natural fear of him, but she felt more irritated than fearful at the moment. She hadn't had anyone around to tell her what to since the day she turned eighteen, which was one of her main reasons for having her own business. Seh couldn't stand to be told what to do. She very rarely took any kind of vitamins, and she didn't feel like starting that crap back up. And why should she do it just becuase a vampire decides he's going to start coming around and bossing her around. when she was technically still his boss.

Darrin grinned. She was irritated. Of course. An independent woman with her own business? Something to watch out for. "Fine, then how about you let me feed from those bags that you discard? Hell, maybe a good one here and there? You can take it out of my paycheck if you'd like." he smirked. It was as if he was making fun of her as his boss. He didn't even need the money!

"Fine" she said with a slight glare. It was probably as good a deal as she would get, though she had a feeling that he was just messing with her. That was what really irritated her. If this kind of thing happened again. she'd fire him, though she had a feeling he wouldn't care much. Why would he, as a vampire? Surely he wouldn't have a problem finding another one, and easily. If he even needed the money, she thought with a sigh. It was just her luck to get mixed in with this kind of crap.

"Was that so hard? Now, I'll be heading home myself. So, goodnight." he said, getting up and heading for the door. Obviously it wasn't that bad of an arrangement. Would she rather he fed from her every night? Nope. Darrin waved his goodbye, opening the door and leaving as he headed to his apartment by foot.

"Bye" she mumbled, shutting the door behind him. She headed to her bedroom and lay in bed for a few hours, letting things run through her mind. He was really a vampire. She had really been bitten by a vampire. She let him keep his job, said he could continue to get blood from the bank, and she'd see him again at work the next night. She had another interesting night ahead of her, she figured. Eventually, as the sun started to come up and the clock hit 7:30, she drifted off into troubled sleep.

The night of their shift, Darrin was inside. He was able to make it past the security system and was waiting by the desk, tapping on it rhythmically. He knew things wouldn't be normal. She knew what he was. But, maybe it wouldn't be so bad. They could make it work. This is the ideal sort of place to work, just one other person to worry about.

Lauren woke up and felt a bit sore, but got up anyhow. She took off the bandage and got dressed. She got to work feeling a bit cranky, but otherwise fine. She noticed the alarm system was down but just sighed when she saw it was just Darrin that took them down. Figures. She sat down at her desk and checked her agenda for the day, not yet having said anything. Luckily she'd brought herself soem coffee. Finally she glanced over at him. "Today I just need you to finish what we were doing yesterday" she said simply, and then began typing something on her computer.

"Are you angry with me?" he asked, leaning over the desk. Darrin could tell her feathers were a bit ruffled. She wasn't happy.

She sighed and glanced over at him. Was she angry at him? Maybe. "Not as angry as I had been, bit a little, yes" she admitted. She had been really angry at him the night before. Now she felt a little angry and a little cautious. Knowing what he was changed lots of things.

"But why are you angry? I mean, hey, it's better than being fed from over and over, right?" Darrin said, smiling. He tried to have her look at the brightside of things. Nothing had to really..change, or anything. "Hm, to think that women liked vampires." he muttered, trying to joke.

She smiled, not able to help herself. "I guess I'm not exactly mad, more irritated that I hadn't realized something before. I'm sure I'll get used to you being... what you are, though." she said with a shrug. She was the type of person that tried to keep an open mind, and she didn't know if she necessarily liked him as anything more than an employee, but she had entertained the idea before. Now she wasn't quite sure what to make of him.

"You act as if I'm some kind of monster. I'm still human, just..dead?" Darrin tried to say. He sighed, smiling. "Well, let's just keep this professional then. So long as I get a few blood bags here and there." he winked. He certainly entertained the idea of having her as his one source of blood, but oh well.
