"You were never in our hair to begin with," she chuckled, trying to make light that he was leaving. It was hard, though. She would be losing a friend.

Jarred shrugged. "Eh, you can say that." he said, looking up as Cook announced that dinner was ready.

Elizabeth smiled at him. "Join us for dinner one last time?" it would really be her, though. Her mother would be late, as would her father.

Jarred nodded, smiling. "Might as well." he said, shrugging as he stood. "Lead the way?" he chuckled.

She smiled and led the way, taking her seat at the table.

"Lizzy, your parents aren't home," Cook said, disapproving.

"This is Jarred's last night in town, cook. I don't think mother or father will mind if he stays for dinner while they are away," she challenged looking up at her.

Cook obviously knew something was up. Elizabeth had changed too quickly for anything else to happen. "Fine, then," she said, going back to put the rest of the food on the table.

Jarred grunted as he took a seat. What, was he going to take her on the damn table? He huffed when she left, shaking his head. "Is she always this..curious? Or rather, assumes too much?" he mumbled quietly.

Elizabeth nodded, annoyed with the curious accusations from the nosy woman. "Ever since my training," she whispered, careful not to say it to loudly.

Jarred grinned a little. "We should just like push her buttons...but then that would be bad." he said, shaking his head and deciding to not mess with the poor woman. He began serving himself a plate, licking his lips.

She laughed. "You're horrible," she told him, not meaning it. She began spooning some food onto her own plate, not bothering with being lady-like. Not until cook came in and cleared her throat, glaring at her. Elizabeth rolled her eyes and neatly unfolded a napkin onto her lap, sitting up strait in her chair, acting like a 'proper' lady. Only then did Cook disappear back into the kitchen.

"You're definitely under chain huh?" Jarred grinned triumphantly as he was eating the food without having to be corrected. Although just for being polite he sat up and ate accordingly.

"I'm a young lady. I have to look proper for any prospective suiters," she quoted Cook, sitting tall before she snickered.

Jarred raised a brow and shrugged. "How old were you again?" he chuckled, eating the chicken.

"Old enough to be a wife," she quoted cook again and couldn't help but laugh as cook looked in and glared at her.

"Which is?" Jarred grinned, smiling at Cook as she glared and disappeared again.

"Eighteen. On my next birthday, there's a ceremony for me becoming a huntress," she murmured. "I have to either kill or tame."

Jarred lost the grin and grunted. "Hm..and then it's time to find another hubby?" he chuckled, shaking his head as he continued to feast.

"Another? I have yet to marry, or find a 'propper suiter'," she chuckled, shaking her head as she took a bite of her food.

"You know. Another to add to the household. Obviously." Jarred said, nudging her and smiling. "Sheesh..so young." he muttered to himself, shaking his head though he was not that young either.

"I'm so young? What about you?," she laughed, nudging him back.

"I'm older though..little bit." Jarred smiled, patting her head as he took another chicken leg. He was tearing the dinner apart, and it was obvious.

"Uh-huh. How old are you, sir," she asked, chuckling as he tore into his food.

"Ugh, twenty four...there." Jarred rolled his eyes, finishing the food and wiping at his mouth with a cloth.

"Four years older. You are old," she teased, chuckling, meaning no harm in it.

Jarred laughed and rolled his eyes. "Whatever. You'll be ending up with some guy twice my age, please." he grinned, although hating the idea of such a thing.

She wrinkled her nose, detesting the idea. "How revolting. I'd much rather not be a wife to a man my father's age."
