A small growl was let out from Grant's mouth, signaling a warning as if she was getting too close. His claws dug into the dirt excitement as he mentally prepared himself. This is how a wolf would attack, it would feed off the fear and the adrenaline. On the inside, truly, a hunter was always afraid, somehow. Slowly he began to circle around his area, waiting for her to get close.

Elizabeth faced the growl, keeping her senses trained on the sound of that, and the scraping of dirt. If she listened even more closely, she could hear his breathing. She stayed still, waiting for him to strike.

Grant then began to retreat deeper in the forest, making deep indents in the dirt of his paws. He wanted her to follow, he wanted to entrap her in his own environment. "Come on, little mouse, follow.." he muttered to himself, his jaws opening a bit as if wanting to 'take a bite' so to speak.

Alright, if he wanted to play this game, she'd play. She followed, fully on her guard.

As soon as he led her to a clearing, he took to hiding once more until she reached the middle. "Ah, what a good follower. Now, be prepared." Grant warned as he jumped out and began circling around her like a predator does to its prey.

She frowned, her eyes trained on his movements as he circled her. Particularly on his feet, as they would determine which way he would be moving.

Grant growled and barked, making his presence known to her as he circled closer. He sniffed, smelling no fear but a bit of disappointment. He then charged at her, aiming towards her legs which were the most vital to a hunter of course. "Defend yourself girl!" he growled as he aimed to snap.

When he got close enough, she jumped up and kicked his sensitive nose, then dashed to the side, her blade held to defend herself.

Grant growled, barking and grabbing hold of her blade, shaking it out of her hands and charging into her, knocking her down.

She kicked the side of his neck.

Grant roared and was about to pull back until Jarred (in wolf form) had then tackled him to the ground, growling and warning him to back off as his paw was now on Grant's neck. "You! What the hell are you doing?!" he grunted at Elizabeth, not thinking that this was an exercise.

"Me? What the hell are YOU doing!? This is training," she snapped at him trying to drag him off her trainer. "Father hired him."

Jarred grunted, getting off. "Sorry, all I knew was that I heard a wolf..and I thought someone was being attacked." he muttered, staring at the other wolf. Grant shook his body and huffed. "Yeah. Right. Jesus, kid. Either way, I was training this girl. So far, she can kick real hard." he said, wriggling his nose.

Elizabeth grinned and darted to pick up her blade, holding it securely in her hand. "You're welcome to watch," she told Jarred, turning her attention back to the wolf her father had hired.

Grant chuckled, getting off the ground and huffing. Jarred grunted, going to a corner and laying down to watch. Who was this new male? One of the ones that Elizabeth's mother had tamed? He continued to watch the scruffle, the girl ending up more times on the ground just as many times as the wolf yelped and rubbed at it's face with his paw. It was pretty even.

Elizabeth's body was wearing down. This was one reason why there were so few hunters - human bodies fatigued much more quickly than wolf bodies.

Grant then stopped, hearing her panting and her heart beating fast. "Alright, we're done....Can you walk?" he asked, walking over to her still in his form. Jarred was watching, though his fur bristled as the other wolf got closer.

She nodded and sat up, though she looked exhausted. She managed to get up on her own and take a few steps. "Yep. Never better," she panted.

Grant huffed. "You'll need help getting home. You can barely walk." he muttered, nudging her to hold onto him. Jarred growled quietly but held back. "Well..I guess I'll go." he said, looking away. It was obvious he wasn't needed. But there was a pull in him that needed some social contact desperately, from her especially.

"You're not gonna come say hi to my folks," she asked Jared as she held onto Grant. "You kinda ran off without a trace, you know."

Jarred twitched. "Need to grab clothes first if I'm going to." he mumbled, coughing. Grant breathed and rolled his eyes. "Ok, well, let's get you home missy." he said, letting her get on him and then taking off. Jarred then hurried off back to his cabin, rushing to find his clothes and to come back once he was changed again.

Elizabeth fell asleep on the wolf's back before he reached the house, and Joseph got his daughter down and got her into bed before going back to Grant. "Thank you for training her," he told him, handing him his payment. "You're welcome to stay for dinner if you'd like."

Grant nodded, smiling. "That would be much obliged. I hope I didn't hurt your daughter." he chuckled, shaking his head and then turning as Jarred (human form) came out in the clothes he was given and was actually clean shaven, no scruff on his face. "Hello again, Joseph. It's been a while." he said as he shook his hand beside Grant.

"Jarred, my boy! What a pleasant surprise," Joseph looked genuinely glad to see him. "Please, come in, come in." He smiled at Grant, inviting him in as well. "No, she's fine. She's mostly been studying her grandfather's writing lately, so she's been putting her evasive moves to practice. I didn't spot any injuries on her at all."

Jarred smiled, walking in with Grant and sniffing a bit. "Dinner?" he asked, looking at Joseph with a smile. He didn't mind..letting go of his little attitude and his awkwardness in society. He could make it work. Grant however chuckled. "Yeah, she can dodge but she can kick pretty good too, as Jarred saw."
