Jarred nodded, rolling his eyes. Most horses will get lazy if they're not well taken care of and just spoiled. But he had a feeling once it sees a wolf, it'll turn pretty quick and fast to learn. "Go, before the sun beats you to it."

Elizabeth rolled her eyes at the wolfman and saddled up her horse. She climbed up on him, using the steps, and rode side-saddle. "Won't you be accompanying me," she asked him. "Father said no one can walk around alone, and he and mother are busy today."

Jarred blinked, staring. "You really want the rumors to fly if they see us together in town?" he asked, raising a brow and chuckling.

"Do you wish to still be considered the murderer," she asked, raising her brow in return.

Jarred's jaw clenched, and he nodded that he did not wish that. He sighed, getting up behind her on the horse despite its complaints. "Fine.." he said, huffing.

She urged her horse forward gently, her purse held in her lap as they rode into town. She got shocked looks from the few people walking around, but she simply smiled and wished them good morning.

Jarred looked away from the shocked faces of the townspeople as they stared in awe. Some even claimed that they may be secretly lovers. God! Lovers!? That's the last thing on his mind, a mate. God! "Like I said...these people are now going to try to rip at your reputation with rumors, as usual.." he muttered in her ear.

"They won't dare talk for very long. Not with Father in town," she told him, stopping Alexander in front of the fabric shop. She stepped down onto the stool and tied him to the pole. "Be good, boy. We won't be long," she smiled, stroking his nose before she walked inside to find a fabric her mother would love.

"What about after he leaves?" Jarred said quietly as they walked into the fabric shop. The woman who owned it was happy to see Elizabeth, but with the mongrel behind her, she lost the smile. "Hello...looking for something new this time, dear?"

Elizabeth smiled at the woman who owned one of her favorite shops. "Mother's birthday is coming up. I want to make something special for her."

The woman, Ms. Willis, smiled and nodded. "Of course. She usually likes dark but formal colors right? We have some new colors in the shipment that came in yesterday, if you'd like to look at them." she said, eager to show her favorite customer.

Elizabeth smiled. "That would be lovely, Ms. Willis, thank you," she said happily.

"Alright then, follow me. And sir..you should stay here." Ms. Willis said with contempt and lead Elizabeth to the back. Jarred growled quietly, almost tempted to make her be the first 'accidental' kill within the hunt for the murderer.

Elizabeth happily followed her, practically skipping in her skirts.

Jarred sighed, watching as they disappeared into the back room. "God, women.." he muttered as he leaned against the large banister of dark red wood. He sniffed the air, though of course, there were many scents. "None like him..." he muttered to himself.

Elizabeth looked through the fabrics. "Oh, Ms Willis, these are beautiful," she said happily. "I'm not sure which one to get her!"

Ms. Willis chuckled, shrugging. "Well, I could give a small percentage off the items you get today since it's your mother's birthday. How's that?" she said, giggling as she thought of the girl as if she was her own daughter.

She smiled. "That sounds lovely, thank you so much. You're so good to me," she felt like hugging the woman, or kissing both her cheeks.

Ms. Willis chuckled, nodding and hugging back. "No problem dear, now go on to the register and I'll wrap up your things." she said as she grabbed wrapping paper.

"Thank you, Ms Willis," Elizabeth said happily, all but skipping back into the main part of the store.

Ms. Willis then went back out to the counter with the things and rang them up for Elizabeth. Jarred was still waiting by the entrance, looking distracted.

Elizabeth paid for her things, smiling and thanking her favorite clerk happily, then walked up to Jared. "What's wrong," she asked in a murmur, loading the things in one of Alexander's saddlebags.

Jarred shook his head. "Besides your nice little friend almost wanting to usher me out of the building, I thought I caught the murdering wolf's scent.." he mumbled quietly, but then sighed. "I lost it. This guy either knows how to mask himself or he's just too damn lucky."

"Don't use such language in public," she scolded him quietly, teasing, getting up onto Alexander. "Let's go to the market and get some goodies for Alexander."

Jarred chuckled, rolling his eyes. Such language was the norm for him. He got on behind Elizabeth, sighing as he felt like the female in the position he was in. Still, at least he wasn't bombarded with insults at the moment.
