Matthew chuckled, nodding. "Ok, if you say so." he smiled, holding her in his arms and resting his head over hers. "Sweet dreams.."

She smiled and snuggled close to him happily, relaxing in his arms. "Thank you," she murmured. "Sweet dreams."

As soon as she fell asleep, Matthew had gotten out of the room, already dressed and armed with heavy guns when having entered the gun room. Of course, he hadn't expected to see Gideon there but they remained silent. They didn't always get along, but, when they did, it was heavy. "You know Lucan will expect you to not bring any bull to the team, right?" Gideon mused, chuckling as his shot had gone through the head of the target. "Yeah, I know...but my mate, she keeps thinking I might be able to bring her along but..I don't think he would put up with it. He'll have my head on a plate if he heard it. I don't know what to do with her..." he chuckled, smiling a bit. His mate was a tough one.

Jasmine slept soundly, warm and comfortable in the bed.

Matthew and Gideon continued to talk, but obviously, it resulted with Matthew retracting the offer of taking Jasmine with him. It really was too much of a risk. But...perhaps she could make more of an impact through the compound? She could easily just go on runs and kill more of the suck heads around their area while he was away. Is that bad? No, it keeps her from Marek and his minions.

Jasmine was sleeping soundly in the bed, oblivious to everything else around her. Lisa had walked in, her eyes glazed over and soul-less; a dagger hidden in the waist of her pants. She closed the door silently behind her and walked towards the sleeping breedmate, taking the dagger out of its hiding place.

((hm...would Matthew be able to even sense the danger? I need to read the rest of the book, cause dang, I've been too busy o-o))

[he might. or Logan could sense his mate in Matthew and Jasmine's room and wonder what she's doing in there?]

Logan had of course walked by their room, wondering whether to talk to Jasmine and see where she stands in the fight, but he digressed. But still, he sensed his own mate inside the room. He opened the door, seeing her take a dagger out. "Lisa!?" he yelled, rushing over to stop her.

Jasmine jumped awake from the shout and ended up rolling out of bed with a shocked squeal, somehow managing to keep herself covered.

Lisa tried to fight her way out of Logan's hold. Her eyes were glazed over, and yet she seemed perfectly sober (aside from trying to stab her in her sleep) something Jasmine had never seen before. She didn't know what it meant.

Logan held her tight, totally angry and yet scared. If Matthew were to come in, was she doomed? Of course, both Gideon and Matthew rushed in as well and soon, Jasmine's mate was staring at Lisa. "Please...I apologize, I don't know what came over her." "What came over her is the blood from that damn rogue that bled her almost dry!" Matthew spat, growling.

Jasmine stood up, wrapped in the blanket. "What are you talking about," she looked from Matthew to Logan. "Is that why her eyes are glazed over?" Jasmine cautiously touched Lisa to see if she could fix whatever it was. She studied the workings of her body for a minute before she frowned. "She's got a connection to someone. If I break it, she'll die. How did that happen? It wasn't like that before."

Logan stiffened and gulped. The damn rogue hadn't just left her near death for nothing. Damn it! His eyes filled with tears as he dragged her out with much resistance. The other warriors understood his pain and his wanting to deal with it his own way. Matthew went over to Jasmine, covering her more with the other covers. "You alright?" he asked quietly. Gideon only sighed. "I'll check on Logan.." he said, leaving the room.

She nodded and leaned against him. "What was that connection she had? The other person was talking to someone.. He seemed scared, but like he'd accomplished something..." She looked up at him, wondering what it meant.

Matthew sighed, shaking his head. "That damned rogue..had created a bond between them. So now, she's under his control, it's a sadistic sort of bond compared to one of the breed." he said, caressing her cheek as he looked over her. Obviously she was fine, but he was just making sure. "Either way, get dressed. I'll need to check on Logan and see just how far gone this girl Lisa is.." he said as he stood, scoffing to himself as he left the room.

Jasmine nodded, yawning as he left the room. She grumbled looking at the clock. Only half an hour worth of sleep. Wonderful. No wonder she was still exhausted. She got dressed and went to go find Logan to see if she could see another way to break the bond in Lisa. After all, Logan and Lisa were the first two (besides Matthew) that she'd trusted in the vampire world.

A lot of struggling was heard within Logan and Lisa's room, but of course that was because they had to hold her down. It seemed the bond that restrained her was intent on killing her target. "Who the hell did this? Do you remember where he might've gone?" he asked, though not knowing if it was possible to get answers. They were almost impossible questions, but Logan who stood beside her and holding down her upper body was obviously angry and distraught. He didn't want to end Lisa's life over being taken into a forced bond.

Jasmine came in quietly, shutting the door behind her. She waited for Lisa to give an answer. When none was given, she stepped forward. "Let me try," she said softly. She'd felt the connection and what the other one was feeling. Maybe she could find out where the person was.

Logan looked up and growled. Matthew of course cleared his throat, staring him down. "Just what do you think you'll do? Hm?" Logan asked, sharp and obviously feeling possessive and territorial.

"See if I can't find whoever made her that way and see if I can't reverse whatever he did," she told him calmly, understanding why he felt that way.

Logan sighed, looking at Lisa and then to Matthew, nodding. Matthew let her through, still holding Lisa down well. "Just do it quickly. We're not sure what she'll do.." he said, feeling bad for her mate.

"Just try to keep her still," Jasmine told him gently, not wanting to make it any more painful for him than it already was. She touched Lisa's shoulder and closed her eyes, concentrating hard. She let Matthew see everything she did, so maybe he'd be able to catch something she didn't. She found the connection and studied it carefully, looking for any loopholes to see if she could keep her alive if she cut the line. Not finding anything at first, she followed the connection cautiously, worried that the one on the other end might be able to sense her if she tried to spy on them. She found the person - he wasn't very far away. In the next town and talking to someone. She looked harder, gradually entering his concious silently to see who he was talking to, and what about.


There was a tall man, rogue by the looks of him. Though he spoke sane enough. They were speaking of an ambush they were going to play on the order, though they didn't specify which one. Divide and conquer was their plan, tho they spoke no specifics. It was only when the person Lisa was connected to called the man Marek, did Jasmine start to pull out of his mind gradually, not hearing any more details on the attack. She was sure Matthew had seen it all. She was too shocked, and a little scared to be honest, to speak.

Matthew surely had enough of a deep bond with Jasmine to realize that Marek was involved. But, he also knew that Lucan had mentioned something about Odolf and such, also the bastard that may be in hiding because of Marek. He gulped, watching the rest of the vision that was given to him by her own ability and sighed. "Lisa is far gone..but...Marek is planning something. We all have to report to Lucan, now." he said to the other warriors, seeing them tense. Gideon nodded, sighing as he took out his cellphone and texted the other genius that was stationed at Lucan's compound, telling him that they will be coming soon. "Everyone, go..let Logan deal with this his own way." Matthew said solemnly, nodding to Logan of his loss and taking Jasmine with him along with Gideon and the others that had joined in. In total, four warriors were to leave immediately or at least as soon as possible. He took Jasmine to their room and closed the door, looking grim. "Look..you will have to stay here with the other women..alright? We'll have someone stay here to watch you, someone from maybe the dark havens. But for now...I can't have you around."

Jasmine panicked, shaking her head. "Matthew, you just saw what I did - they're planning an ambush! you'll all be killed," she said, freaking out. She'd just started to really like him, she didn't want to lose her mate so soon.

Matthew stared at Jasmine and sighed. "Ambush or not, we already must have gathered over fifteen of our best warriors along with other recruits. We'll be fine. We just need to blow up their sh*t and we're good. I...You need to trust me. If they're planning an ambush, then I need you to concentrate in trying to find out more in Lisa. You may need to try again, dig deeper. I don't care what Logan says or does, he needs to realize that he may not come out alive without this information from his mate's unfortunate luck." he explained, obviously hiding other emotions.
