"I don't know what it is that you want to give me." Jacey said back to him, looking thoughtfully into his eyes. While Marcus wasn't the same jerk he had been before, she had never really seen him so nervous before. Shaking her head, she looked up hearing the tea kettle go off. Turning off the heat, she picked up the tea kettle and prepared two cups of cocoa for them.

Jacey had been taking the small tub of cool whip out of the refrigrerator when he told her that he loved her and that his gift for her was his heart. "Your... heart?" she asked slowly, placing down the tub of cool whip and turning to look at him. She felt her stomach tighten and invisble strings seemed to pull at her heart. "How can you be so sure that it is me that you love?" she finally asked.

She turned from him when he mentioned the one time when they had been togrther, her cheeks flushed a dark red. "That was a ..." Jacey couldn't bring herself to say mistake, though she was not sure why. Sighing gently, she ran a hand through her hair, utterly miserable. Why couldn't they be together on a professional level? Why was it so inevitable for them to have fallen in love. "I-I don't believe you," she finally said. "You'll have to show me."

Marcus took her by the shoulders and gently looked into her eyes. He gently leaned in closer to her face breathing slowly smelling her perfume. It smelled so lush and sweet yet soft. He Gently carressed her lips with his.

Her breath caught in her throat as he rested his large hands upon her shoulders. She wondered what it was that he was thinking as he looked into her blue grey eyes and sighed gently as he pressed her lips against her own. Breathing in gentle, she kissed him back and let her eyes close. Sometimes a person just knew when they had been wrong about something and when something was just far too right to be wrong.

She sighed gently against his lips and let the kiss deepen. It had been stupid of her to gone on this whole time believing that he didn't mean something to her. Marcus meant a great deal to her and she felt stupid for not admitting it to herself. Pulling away, she looked deeply into his eyes and nuzzled his cheek. "Is this what love is supposed to feel like?" she asked.

She sighed contently and nuzzled him. "It sounds wonderful." Jacey said thoughtfully, looking up into his brown eyes. "It must have been hard going through the year and having to see me with Kyle all of the time. I'm sorry I put you through all of that." Jacey felt like apologizing for everything, though she hardly knew where to begin. "I'm sorry I called you a mistake," she finally said. "You're the best thing to ever happen to me."

A soft sigh passed from her lips and she looked up at him with soft eyes. "It couldn't have been any fun waiting this whole time." Blushing, she glanced over at the clock. It had been Christmas for the best two minutes. Looking back at him, she laughed. "Might as well give you your present now." Jacey reasoned, pulling away and walking over to the small tree she had set up. Grabbing a wrapped parcel, she then walked over to him and gave it to him. "Merry Christmas, Marcus."

Jacey grinned slightly, as if biting back a laugh. "Yes, I did." she answered back, watching as he unwrapped the slender package. Once he opened it, a knit red scarf was revealed. Brushing some hair from her eyes, she smiled. "I just thought it was appropriate that I finally give you one after always having to lend you my scarf." she chuckled. For the past three months she had worked on making it. "I hope it fits." She had used Kyle to estimate the size.

She laughed. "I know that I'm not that good at knitting... ^^;" Jacey was a bit flushed that she couldn't have gotten him something better considering the feel of the moment. Nuzzeling his cheek, she rested her head upon his shoulder. "I'm really happy that you like it." Jacey finally said, closing her eyes and listening to the gentle sound of his heart beat.

And it was then in the early hours of Christmas that two lonely souls were able to unite together in the consitution of love. There would be the usual lovers squabbles, but in the end it would all be worth it. Jacey yawned softly and then chuckled. "I suppose it is about time that we be getting to bed." she murmured, taking his hand and walking with him to the bedroom. "We could both use some rest after tonight."

"It must have been terrible having to stand up whenever you slept for the past year." Jacey said empathetically, opening the bedroom door for him. Leading him to the bed, she let him take a seat at the foot before grabbing her pajamas and going to change for the night. Her feet were aching from her heals and her body felt cold and raw from the weather outside.

Walking over to the bed, she yawned and then laid down. It really had been a very long night for the both of them. "I have more presents for you to open in the morning." she said softly, closing her eyes.
