Jacey had already retreated to the safety of her bedroom. Her bath robe hung from the back of her chair and she was now in her old flannel pajamas. In the darkness she thought that she had heard him call out for her. "Marcus..." she whispered softly and then sighed and buried her face against the pillow. It was stupid for her to grow close to him.

And so for the rest of the night, two lonely people who needed human contact more than they were willing to admit spent their time alone. When the sun finally arose, with reluctance she got out of the bed. "Marcus." she murmured softly to herself. "I wonder if he stayed." Throughtout the night he could have run away from her and have tried to escape her curse. Walking into the living room in bare feet, she was surprised to see him still asleep on the couch. For some reason it made her happy. Walking over to the couch she took a seat beside him and smiled down at his sleeping form, her hand moving to brush some of his hair from his eyes.

A gentle sigh passed from Jacey's lips. "I'm sorry I kissed you." she said softly, thankful that he was asleep. "And that I need to turn you back into a tree." Her hand rested upon his cheek for a moment before getting up. She would at least let him have breakfast as a human before taking him back to the forest to change him back into a tree. Soon the kitchen was filled with the sounds of her busteling around as she made breakfast.

Jacey looked up softly and smiled hearing Marcus's voice. "Yes?" she asked, stepping out of the kitchen to look at him. "I'm just preparing some breakfast if you're hungry." she said softly. Jacey felt bad about turning him into a tree and for being attracted to him. Once he was back in the forest, hopefully she would go back to normal. She would have unwavering love for Kyle and she would only be worried about Marcus because he was her responsinilities.

"You're welcome." Jacey said, smiling and watching as he got up from the couch. She was about to move out of his way so that he could step inside the kitchen when he pressed his lips to her own. Her eyes widenend and she blushed a deep red when he pulled away. "A-any person who was decent would have taken someone in from the cold." she stuttered, her voice shy.

"T-the kiss..." she mumbeled, her face flushed. Why was she such a moron? Sighing gently, she walked back into the kitchen to pour herself a cup of coffee. "I'm sorry." she said after a few minutes, turning and walking to the kitchen table. "I shouldn't have. It only makes things bad for the both of us. I love Kyle very much and you need to find your true love to break this curse." She reached for a muffin and began to pull it apart, putting the pieces into her mouth and eating. "I was being stupid." There was nothing else to really say now.

A soft sigh passed from lips when he walked out. He didn't care, but for some reason she wished that he did. "Aren't you hungry?" she asked softly, walking out of the kitchen. Jacey had baked quite a bit for him since soon he would be a tree again. "There's plenty for you to eat." she added, smiling. Currently she was nursing a cup of coffee.

Jacey watched him quietly for a few minutes before going back to the muffin she was eating. "I'm sorry that I'll have to turn you back into a tree." she said softly. Why was she apologizing? He hadn't even tried to run away, so he obviously accepted it. And it wasn't as if anything had happened between them that should trully make her feel guilty.

After another minute or so Jacey finally got up from the couch to change into clothes to go out in. Walking back into the living room, she sighed softly. "Are you ready to go, Marcus?" she asked, going over to the coat rack to put on her coat and hat. She had promised the day before that she would stay with him in the forest for as long as she could and she didn't want to break her promise.

She looked at him sadly for another minute before noticing that he was still wearing the scarf that she had given him the night before. For some reason this made her laugh and she walked over to him to adjust it. "I don't suppose you'll want to borrow this scarf too?" she asked gently, her hands moving up to his neck to adjust it properly.

She smiled softly and then nodded her head. "I'd offer you a hat, too, but I don't know where it would go." Grabbing a thermos of coffee from the kitchen table, she then left the apartment room with him and walked down the steps to the apartment parking lot. While she was trying to act as if it were happy occasion, it was really sad considering that she would be turning him back into a tree.

She smiled softly and then looked thoughtfully at Marcus. "If you'll let me, I'll bring some garland and ornaments to hang on you." she teased, getting into the car and starting to drive off. Christmas was a week or so away, give or take a few days, and the world was white with snow. As they reached the forest, she sighed gently and then stopped. Despite everything, a part of her felt sad that he would be a tree once more. As she was getting up, she dropped her thermos of coffee and it went rolling underneath Marcus's seat. Cursing softly underneath her breath, she thoughtlessly leaned over Marcus and started to reach for it underneath the seat.

"Marcus," came Jacey's small voice from beneath the seat. "Can you please move your right leg, it's infront of the thermos." Currently she found herself with her face inbetween his ankles, the rest of her body draped over his lower half as she reached to grab the thermos. While it wasn't exactly practical of her, she wasn't really think at the moment. She just wanted to get her thermos (and perhaps prolong turning him into a tree.)
