Marcus waved his branches as to say Ha ha very funny, Lizzy. He lowered some lower branches for them to sit on.

Lizzy wanted to ask him something in private, but she didn't exactly know how to whisper something to a tree. As she took a seat on his branch, she noticed Jacey seem to shy away. Aside from casting the spell on Marcus, Lizzy wondered what sort of effects and relationship Jacey had with her ex-husband. Perhaps she was being paranoid.

Lizzy looked thoughtfully at the tree and placed a hand to the warm bark. "What is your relationship with Jacey?" she whispered softly, looking gently into his eyes. "Does she mean something to you? Or have you frightened her? She won't come anywhere near you." Jacey was a good friend of Lizzy's and despite everything she did care about Marcus.

Marcus looked down at Jacey. I love her. But I don't think she loves me back. She called me a mistake...

"A mistake?" Lizzy asked softly. It didn't seem like Jacey to just blurt out something so mean and thoughtless. "Why in the world did she call you that?" Of course Lizzy was very naive to what might have gone on in Marcus's relationship with Jacey. Lizzy, while she did not hate Marcus, had forgotten that even he could fall in love with someone.

"Oh, Marcus." Lizzy said softly, her voice sympathetic. Despite everything, his heart was just as sensitive as her own. Had Ryan turned her away and called her a mistake, Lizzy wasn't sure how she would have reacted. "I wish that things hadn't turned out like that." Somehow she could tell that Jacey had meant more to Marcus than just a sex partner.

"Oh, Marcus!" Lizzy groaned. "You were trying to steal another guy's girlfriend? That really isn't cool at all." Despite everything, she could not support adultery. Sighing softly, she looked at the tree with stern eyes. "I thought that you had learned better, Marcus." she lowered her gaze. "Considering what you did to me." She knew what it was like to be both cheated on and called a mistake.

Marcus closed his eyes, I didn't plan this, Elizabeth. He opened his eyes again and looked at her seriously. I didn't do it because she had a boyfriend. She let me stay in her apartment to keep me from the frost that night. She gave me a kiss goodnight and well I kissed her back in the morning as a thank you. It was out of the kindness of my heart not for the sex.

Lizzy sighed softly and thought back to the first time she had made love to Ryan. Nothing about their first time together had anything to do with carnal desire. They had needed eachother and things had happened. "Oh, Marcus." she sighed, shaking her head. "Your heart is broken, isn't it?" she asked, her voice soft and very sad.

Lizzy, I regret so much and I was mad that you left me behind, I was, but I relized that when you truely love someone you want them to be happy even if it leaves you out of the picture. I'm happy you have Ryan. He seems the kind of man you always deserved. I was a bastard and I hate myself for blowing all that I had away. But right now I finally found someone whom I can love but the silly thing is is that she doesn't love me back and so I am broken hearted. I accept my tree state. I deserve it.

Lizzy sighed. "I wish that there was something I could do," she said softly, "But I can't just tell her to love you." What neither of them knew of was Jacey's own growing feelings for Marcus. Deep down she was growing to love him, but she was afraid to admit this and make herself so vulnerable. Sighing gently, Lizzy looked back down at Jacey who was farther away from the tree.

"Please don't go all emo on me." Lizzy groaned. "It isn't going to help anyone at all." Brushing her hair from her eyes, she pressed a soft kiss to the tree tunk before moving down lower to be with Ryan. She appreciated that Ryan was respecting her privacy and giving her some time alone with Marcus to bring a sort of conclusion to their relationship.

Marcus lowered her to the ground and offered a branch to Ryan. Ryan looked at it tilting his head and saw the branch looked like a h and. He took the branch like hand and Marcus shook his hand. No Hard feelings, if you need a place to hold a wedding stand under me in spring. I'll make it gorgious for her.

Lizzy chuckeled softly as Marcus spoke to Ryan. She was happy that Marcus could accept that she had moved on, though she felt sad that he was not able to move on. While Lizzy hated to say it, the way Marcus talked about Jacey seemed to be so much more passionate and meaningful then how he had talked about her when they had been together. She wanted to help him, but she didn't know how.

Jacey wasn't sure what it was she was looking for in life anymore. She remained with her longtime boyfriend Kyle, yet she found herself thinking about the time she had spent with Marcus frequently. It was confusing to say the least, but she chose to believe that they were not meant to be and that sooner or later the love of his life would come stumbeling in.
