Don't Write Me {Private} a Love Song

Alex raised her eyebrow. What did he mean by 'that girl'? "She's over there, with one of the drummers," she nodded in Jen's direction. "Why the sudden interest? You hardly wanted anything to do with her before."

"Nope," she said. "I prefer country," she said. "So, now you have even more fans. Congrats," she said, a hint of dryness in her voice.

"Yep," she flashed him a grin and looked back at the women behind him. "I think they might form an angry mob if you don't get back to them soon," she said and smiled at him. "Good luck," she said and looked back down at her book.

"Only when people are screaming in my ear," she told him, her eyes flashing to his fans, then up at him. "And when some rock star thinks he rules the world and no one else matters."

"You didn't take the time to know Jen before you brushed her off," she reminded him. "Feels horrible, doesn't it? I'm surprised she still wanted to come."

She nodded. "Yes, you did apologize. I don't think I thanked you for that. Though she isn't as crazy about you, she's still a fan. You got her to calm down a bit before she got her heart really broken; thank you," she told him sincerely. "And yes, it does suck. Something some of us know much, much better than others. By the way," she said, looking up at his hair. "I like the haircut," she grinned, being honest. It did look much better than that mess of hair he used to have, that's for sure. She looked past him and frowned. "I really think you should get back to your fans... They're starting to foam at the mouth," she chuckled. "I should find Jen anyway."

Alex put her book in her pocket and went off to find Jen. Of course, she got practically trampled by some of Russel's fans, and hadn't noticed that her book fell out of her pocket onto the ground, being kicked around by all the women. She finally found Jen and smiled. "Hey. Ready to go? Or you wanna wait a while longer?"

Alex put her hands in her pockets and blinked, looking down. "Oh, no... Where'd my book go!?" She looked around frantically, retracing her steps; even then, she couldn't find it anywhere. "Oh, crap...."

Alex groaned, not finding it anywhere she'd been that evening. "Craaaap, where is it," she whined, going backstage again to see if she could find it anywhere. She then started asking the band members and staff if they'd seen a book lying around, sighing when none of them had seen it. Most of the band members had left to go to after-parties.

Alex nearly gave up, having no idea where else it could be. But then Russel came up to her, holding up her book. "My book," she exclaimed, relieved. "Thank you so much! Where was it," she looked up at him.

"Really? I could have sworn I looked under all of them..." she thought a moment and shrugged it off, smiling up at him. "Thanks again," she said, sounding happy and relieved.

"Lunch? With you? Tomorrow," Alex asked, blinking. Why would he want lunch with her? She wasn't one of his fans at all; she'd told him that. "Uhh... Sure," she said, figuring why not? And she did have to thank him somehow for finding her book. "Just tell me the time and place."

Alex nodded. "Seven's fine," she said. "Should I meet you there," she asked, suddenly feeling crazy for agreeing to this. The media would be sure to get this, meaning a lot of unwanted attention on her. Da*n!
