Julian stared at Mary and listened. She was right, but with times like these, he wondered how much they really had. Whether it would last, anyway. "Well then, I'll just hold off on any jobs for now. I should enjoy being married first, right?" he said, smiling and winking.

"Well then, let's go on for breakfast. I'm sure your mother and her friend are waiting for us impatiently." Julian said, opening the door for Mary once she was ready. Going downstairs you could already smell bacon, hotcakes (pancakes really ._.) and fresh fruit. There was also maple syrup to accompany the hotcakes. Sitting down after his wife had, he smiled at her mother who looked as bright as the sun, happy, for once.

But, during dinner, a hard few knocks slammed onto the wooden doors of the mansion, making Julian freeze. He had prayed it wasn't family, but once his butler opened the door, it revealed a much worse relative: Mary's father. "L-Let me speak to my wife, now!" he said, sounding desperate and weak.

Julian was already beginning to get up, glaring at Michael. "If you're here to cause a scene, leave." "Shut up, boy. I'm here to get back my wife and daughter. It's sick that you had convinced her to marry you in exchange for money! You damn wealthy people think that you can buy everything, well, it's time for a refund!" the old man growled, pushing past the butler and towards the table.

Michael stiffened, watching Miriam walk to him in desperation of keeping him from disrupting any peace that was left. Julian could only remain silent and look at Mary in question and anger. What could he do to his wife's father? "Miriam..why did you leave? Even Lucas left!" he said, his eyes tearing a bit.

Michael hugged Miriam tightly. For those few months and such or whatever time that had passed, it felt like forever. He had been given an ultimatum. Still, he wanted to punch Julian's lights out. "I'm sorry for driving you away....So sorry." he muttered, kissing her cheek. He then looked at Mary. "How could you marry this man? For wealth?" he asked her.

Michael sighed. "Answer me." he said, a growl followed. Julian stared at Mary's father, wondering what to say. "Yes, she did marry me at first for a half of my family's will, but now..now we really have married for love. Love in which we both didn't think we'd feel for each other." he confessed, closing his eyes in shame.

Of course, and already the estate looked much better lately with the money given to him. Almost like when he was a young boy. However, Michael, did not care at all. "Then if you have your money, Mary, you should leave him. What other use is he to you? He's practically dragging you around as some trophy to show other money grubbers that he's 'compassionate'." he hissed.

"Prove me wrong then, Mary." Michael questioned, mostly challenging her 'husband'. Julian did want to start an argument, but he held his tongue. "Sir, just what do you want?" he asked, glaring. "What I want is my family back from your greedy clutches." the old man growled.
