| Julian stared at Mary and listened. She was right, but with times like these, he wondered how much they really had. Whether it would last, anyway. "Well then, I'll just hold off on any jobs for now. I should enjoy being married first, right?" he said, smiling and winking. | |

| Mary blushed softly, but also laughed and nodded her head. "That's right," she answered, chuckling. "At least for a little while longer, alright?" Now that they really could enjoy being together without being penalized for it, she didn't see why they could take advantage of the time that they could spend togehter. |

| "Well then, let's go on for breakfast. I'm sure your mother and her friend are waiting for us impatiently." Julian said, opening the door for Mary once she was ready. Going downstairs you could already smell bacon, hotcakes (pancakes really ._.) and fresh fruit. There was also maple syrup to accompany the hotcakes. Sitting down after his wife had, he smiled at her mother who looked as bright as the sun, happy, for once. | |

| It seemed that for once in her life, Miriam had control over what she wanted to do. If she wanted to sleep for another hour, she could. If she wannted to go into town, she could. It was a little overhwelming to take in, but she was starting to get pretty good at it. The only thing that she missed was her husband. Yes, he could be abusive and cruel, but she was still in love with him. |

| But, during dinner, a hard few knocks slammed onto the wooden doors of the mansion, making Julian freeze. He had prayed it wasn't family, but once his butler opened the door, it revealed a much worse relative: Mary's father. "L-Let me speak to my wife, now!" he said, sounding desperate and weak. (on the right of course) | |

| Everyone looked up at him surprised, but no one more surprised than Miriam herself. "M-michael?" she murmured softly, unsure of what to say to her estranged husband. Deep in her heart she knew that she could never hate him. She had never held any grudges against him. To see him so weak like this really hurt her. "How did you find me?" |

| Julian was already beginning to get up, glaring at Michael. "If you're here to cause a scene, leave." "Shut up, boy. I'm here to get back my wife and daughter. It's sick that you had convinced her to marry you in exchange for money! You damn wealthy people think that you can buy everything, well, it's time for a refund!" the old man growled, pushing past the butler and towards the table. | |

| "Michael, calm down!" Miriam cried, moving over from her seat and walking towards her husband. She looed softly at him, wondering just how worried and in pain he must have been. Whether or not Lucas had stayed with him once both her and Mary had left, she did not know. But she could understand his pain of coming home one day to find that he was alone. |

| Michael stiffened, watching Miriam walk to him in desperation of keeping him from disrupting any peace that was left. Julian could only remain silent and look at Mary in question and anger. What could he do to his wife's father? "Miriam..why did you leave? Even Lucas left!" he said, his eyes tearing a bit. | |

| She couldn't help it. Miriam found herself tearing up. So he had come home to an empty house. Miriam had spent a lot of nights alone when she had still lived in their house together, but she knew that she had never been deserted. For the first time, she found that she couldn't relate to her husband. "I'm so sorry." she murmured, wrapping her arms around him. "I'm sorry, my love." |

| Michael hugged Miriam tightly. For those few months and such or whatever time that had passed, it felt like forever. He had been given an ultimatum. Still, he wanted to punch Julian's lights out. "I'm sorry for driving you away....So sorry." he muttered, kissing her cheek. He then looked at Mary. "How could you marry this man? For wealth?" he asked her. | |

| Mary looked away from her father's judging gaze. Maybe at first. Maybe at first she had been interested with Julian's proposal due to the wealth and freedom it would give her, but now she could honestly say with her whole heart that she was in love with him. She just didn't know how to explaint this to her father. |

| Michael sighed. "Answer me." he said, a growl followed. Julian stared at Mary's father, wondering what to say. "Yes, she did marry me at first for a half of my family's will, but now..now we really have married for love. Love in which we both didn't think we'd feel for each other." he confessed, closing his eyes in shame. | |

| It was hard to admit because it really was a shallow reason for them to have married. But Julian had needed the money from his father's Will so that he could restore his family's old estate. Mary thought it best to leave out the conditions to his grandmother's Will which had been for 1oo days of celibacy between the newly wed couple. |

| Of course, and already the estate looked much better lately with the money given to him. Almost like when he was a young boy. However, Michael, did not care at all. "Then if you have your money, Mary, you should leave him. What other use is he to you? He's practically dragging you around as some trophy to show other money grubbers that he's 'compassionate'." he hissed. | |

| Mary cleared her throat, and tried to pace herself. Yelling at her father and calling him nasty names really wouldn't get her anywhere. "Father, you are mistaken," she said softly. They had hardly gone out into the public eye at all. Wherever it was that he was getting the idea that she was some trophy wife was totally false. |

| "Prove me wrong then, Mary." Michael questioned, mostly challenging her 'husband'. Julian did want to start an argument, but he held his tongue. "Sir, just what do you want?" he asked, glaring. "What I want is my family back from your greedy clutches." the old man growled. | |

| Mary just wasn't sure how to combat against her father's scalding and unnapproving words. He simply did not want to give either her or Julain a chance. Julian especially. In Michael's eyes, Julian would simply be the blaggard who had stolen his family away from him while he had been away at work. |
