He nodded. "Yes, you have a point. That is the exception."

Sarah nodded, thinking. "And for that matter, if one is in love, should you even try hold back? To set up barriers? To have a sanctuary? Shouldn't that person be your sanctuary? Even if they don't quite know it..."

He thought for a moment. "You are right. You are exactly right."

Sarah smiled, nodding slowly. "Just a thought I have alot of the time..."

"You must have a lot of time to think about those kinds of things," he murmured, walking up beside her and taking her hand.

Sarah nodded. "Being in a cage gives you a lot of time to think... I guess I appreciate the time I've had to contemplate that kind of thing..." She squeezed hand for a moment then released, their hands loose on each other's again.

"Where is your sanctuary," he asked quietly. He was curious if it was in her room or somewhere else.

Sarah shrugged. "I don't know if I have one.. If I do, it's my head... I can always just retreat into my head and get away from it all there. But sometimes I wish I had somewhere or someone else..."

"You can use me as your sanctuary," he told her quietly. He felt closer to Sarah than he did his other slaves.

Sarah blushed, looking up at him. "Are you sure? I mean, you don't have to. And if you ever just want to sto, tell me. It won't hurt me or anything..."

"I'd like to be your sanctuary," he admitted, smiling softly at her.

Sarah smiled, her cheeks pink. "Well.. Thank you.. Really..." She didn't know what kind of sanctuary he would be to her, but she appreciated it all the same.

He smiled softly. "You are very welcome," he said, resisting the urge to touch her cheek and kiss it.

Sarah smiled, pressing her lips to his cheek. "Thank you.. Really. I owe you for this..."

He smiled and kissed her cheek back. "You owe me nothing. I want to help," he murmured, smiling softly at her.

Sarah smiled warmly, nodding. "Well thank you.. Again... I'm more than ecstatic that someone has decided to help me..."

He smiled softly. "Do you remember where your room is? Or would you like me to show you the way?"

Sarah smiled. "This house is so big... I'll be lost for weeks if I try it on my own..."

He chuckled. "I'll show you to your room, then," he offered her his hand and walked down the hallway, towards their bedrooms.

Sarah smiled, sliding her hand smoothly into his and laced their fingers together. He's definitely sanctuary... She felt that she got lost in him every time their eyes met.

He opened the door to her room and smiled. "My room is just down the hall there," he pointed to his door. "I'll be in there if you need me. Rest well," he said softly.

Sarah smiled and stepped into her room then turned back. "Thank you, again... For everything... You might not know it yet, but you've saved me..."

He smiled at her. "You're welcome. And I know I have. That's what sanctuaries are for," he chuckled softly. "Good night, Sarah. Sleep well," he told her before walking to his room.

Sarah nodded and smiled, closing the door when he got to his. She walked over to the bed, laying down on it. "Wow..." She wasn't sure what else she could say.

Deryk got into clean bedclothes and got into bed, sitting and reading for about an hour or so before he turned off the light and laid down to sleep.
