He smiled. "We have something in common," he told her cheerfully.

Sarah nodded. "Yeah... I guess we do. The red roses are my favorite..."

He smiled. Yes, he'd like Sarah more than his other slaves. "I think you'll be happy here," he told her.

Sarah chuckled. "I think I will be too..."

He smiled. "Tell me when you get tired."

Sarah smiled. "I won't be tired for a while..."

He smiled. "Then we can enjoy ourselves. Is there anything you'd like to do? Or do you want to stay in the garden for a while?"

Sarah shrugged. "I like the garden a lot.. But, maybe we could go ride the horses?"

"We can ride the horses in the garden," he chuckled and led her to the stables. There were ten horses, all relaxing in their pens. "Go ahead and pick whichever horse you like," he told her.

Sarah walked along the stables until she found a gray mare. The mare had strong haunches and firm legs. "I like this one..." She reached a hand into the female's stall, speaking in Italian. "Vieni qui, dolce ragazza..."

He smiled and went to his own horse: a black stallion with a white-tipped nose and ears. "Ready to ride, boy," he asked softly, stroking his nose.

The gray mare looked at the girl curiously and sniffed her hand, then bumped it playfully with her nose.

Sarah smiled and rubbed the mare's face and neck, chuckling. She climbed up onto the gate and rubbed the horse's head with a smile.

The mare nudged the girl curiously.

"You're welcome to take her out of her pen. Would you like me to help you put her saddle on," Deryk offered, finishing up his stallion's saddle before he brought him out of his pen.

Sarah smiled. "I'd like the help. I haven't been on a horse in..." She tried to pull a number to her head but couldn't. "Let's say it's been a long time... A really long time actually..." She stepped off the gate and opened it a tad, stroking the mare's neck as she slowly lured her out of the pen.

The horse came without much luring; she was eager to to out for a walk.

Deryk smiled and tied his horse loosely to a pole and went to help her with the saddle, showing her to put the blanket on first, then how the straps hooked together.

Sarah blushed, nodding as he helped her. She tightened the straps enough so that the saddle didn't slip but the straps didn't hurt the horse. She smiled and slid a bit and bridle into the horse's mouth, sliding it over her head effortlessly.

He smiled. "Alright, she's all hooked up and ready to ride. The steps are out in front of the stables. I'll help you up, if you'd like," he offered with a smile, getting his horse from the pole; the horse hadn't moved an inch.

Sarah nodded as she led the mare out to the yard beyond the stables. It was an absolutely beautiful night, amazingly cool and clear. A perfect night to go riding. She stopped a few steps out and looked up at the horse, her large chocolate chip eyes reflecting Sarah's ice blue eyes.

Deryk led his horse outside as well. The horse was so black, it almost blended into the night perfectly. Knowing his horse wouldn't move an inch, he walked up to Sarah. "Do you need help getting up onto her," he asked.

Sarah smiled. "As short as I am? Definitely..."

He smiled. "Alright. I'm going to have to put my hands on your sides and lift you up. Once you get up, you'll have to swing your other leg over and put both feet in the stirrups," he told her, putting his hands on her sides. "Are you ready?"

Sarah nodded, smiling. "I'm fine with that..."

He lifted her up gently and helped her balance a she found her footing in the stirrups. "How's that," he asked, smiling up at her.

Sarah smiled. "Brilliant..." She slipped her other foot firmly into the stirrup and settled down on the sadle. Her hands didn't reach automatically for the reigns, but instead to the saddle horn.

He smiled and handed her the reins before getting onto his own horse with no trouble at all. He led the stallion to her. "Would you like to ride alongside me or behind me," he asked her.
