Elizabeth was now a grown woman, and a fine huntress. She'd been approached by many men, some hunters, themselves, but she turned them all down. Her father was beginning to worry that she'd never find a husband and give birth to the next generation of hunters for their family. But neither Sara or Elizabeth had told Joseph that she'd fallen for Jarred and still wondered about him. Elizabeth did flirt with the men, for her father's sake, but she hadn't taken any real interest.

It was night time by the time that Jarred arrived, panting hard in his wolf form as he hoped to smell her already. He wasn't far from her home, but he knew she was there. Slowly he made his way closer.

Elizabeth was sitting down with her family for dinner. They had renovated, added a large window to the dining room so they could see the view of the new garden. The cook had been laid off for being too nosy and risking their secret to be revealed, so they'd gotten a new cook, a male hunter so they wouldn't have to hide anything. Joseph had hoped that Elizabeth would have fallen for this new cook, but she had yet to show interest. He grunted as Elizabeth spoke of her day with the girls and reported all the gossip that she'd heard, with obvious amusement.

The new cook, Hunter (ironically enough) had of course shown interest in her. But he knew better. She was more independent than most women, he respected that. He was around Jarred's age, but he was much more clean shaven, his short cropped brown hair and green eyes standing out the most. Jarred of course saw of the new renovation, knowing it must've taken a while. With a deep breath, he howled, hoping she recognized it.

Elizabeth tensed at first, then blinked. That howl sounded familiar... "Jarred," she gasped, realizing who it was and hurried outside towards the sound.

Hunter looked towards her parents in a questioning glance and cleared his throat. "Who's that?"

Sara chuckled. "He's a friend. He left four years ago to take over his father's pack. He must be back for a visit," she said, standing and going to greet her favorite werewolf.

Joseph chuckled. "Come, meet him," he smiled at Hunter, walking after his wife.

Jarred had been outside, still in his form but as calm as ever. As Elizabeth was the first to come out of the house, he stared. "Hello again, friend." he chuckled.

"You've been gone so long," Elizabeth smiled at him. "I hardly recognized your howl. How are you," she asked him.

Jarred huffed but nodded his agreement. "It's been too long. I'm..well. You?" he asked, then looked over as he saw her parents coming out as well, along with a cook, except it was male this time. His fur bristled at the thought that he may be her husband.

She smiled. "I'm well."

"Jarred, it's so good to see you," Sara said happily. She couldn't help but hug the werewolf she thought as her son. "We've missed you so. How is the pack?"

Jarred chuckled. "It's..interesting. I've had quite a few fight me for position but, you can tell they didn't win by these scars...and who's this?" he asked as Hunter walked up and smiled. Obviously it was strained.

"This is Hunter, our new cook. He's a hunter, too," Elizabeth grinned at the irony. "Hunter, this is our friend, Jarred. No fighting," she warned them, turning serious.

"I think they got the point, dearest," Joseph chuckled. "How long are you able to stay," he asked Jarred curiously, though politely.

Hunter chuckled, nodding. "Nice to meet you." he said, trying to be polite at least. Jarred grunted, looking to Joseph. "For a few days...it took that many to come back anyway. Just a bit of relaxation is all." he said, huffing.

"We are halfway through dinner. Why don't you join us," Sara offered happily. "You must be starving."

Jarred nodded and Hunter had almost disagreed, but he wouldn't have it or at least the two of the household wouldn't. "Come on, you'll like what we're having." he said, welcoming the wolf.

Elizabeth bounced cheerfully, happy as a schoolgirl as she ran back to the house to get him clothes that he'd fit into so he could join them at the table.

Jarred followed after the parents and Hunter whom held a tense stature beside him. He hated wolves and for good reason. He had hunted many that ruined others lives, and he hated them with a passion.

"Have you found a mate since you've taken over your father's pack," Sara asked him curiously. "If so, she's welcome to join us as well.

Joseph noticed Hunter's tense posture and elbowed him, giving him a glance that he was not to do harm to this wolf. He was a good friend and would be avenged if his death was of unnatural causes.

Jarred grunted when a mate was mentioned. He had no such thing, he didn't see a point as of yet to have cubs even though it was almost natural to have more than just one. He sighed, shaking his head. "I've been so busy that I've yet to think of that." he replied, almost looking towards Elizabeth when saying mate.

Hunter sighed, chuckling lightly. He knew Joseph wouldn't stand for it, so he eased up on the tension and breathed deeply.

Elizabeth handed Jarred one of her father's outfits and the girls gave him some privacy, going inside to make an extra place for him at the table.

Jarred had grasped it with his jaws, careful not to let his saliva wet them as he went to a secluded area to change. He then came out, his scars all the more obvious but only appearing as pink scars. He went inside, nodding to Hunter as if telling him that he was safe, not dangerous.

Elizabeth's eyes widened when she saw his scars. His fur had been covering them before, but he had so many! She looked away quickly, not wanting to be rude and stare. "Take a seat," she smiled at him. "Dig in."

Jarred had sat down, sighing. "I know the scars are...out there. But, that's the price you pay for being leader." he chuckled, eating quietly as Hunter couldn't help but glance at him every once in a while.

"I didn't mean to stare," she apologized, looking down at her plate as she fiddled with her food.
