| She wasn't sure why he had done it whyen just yesterday he had been purposely making piles of snow fall on her. Not to mention he had called her several not-so-nice names. Just as she was about talk her cellphone went off and she awkwardly answered it. "Hello?" she said softly, and then smiled hearing the familiar voice. 'Hey, Kyle. How are you?" She was quiet as the person on the other line spoke and then laughed. "Alright, babe. I love you too. I need to go. Bye," she paused to laugh. "I love you too!" she said for the second time and then hung up. |

| Marcus lifted his branches up and just became quiet. | |

| Jacey blushed and then deposited her cellphone into her coat pocket. "I'll, er, try to come againt tonight to give you more honey. Spiritually you're still used to having more than one meal a day. We need to take baby steps until you grow used to not having to eat as much. Alright?" she asked. She felt a bit awkward talking to her boyfriend in front of him, but was in no way ashamed. |

| Marcus didn't reply. He was silent and rather sad that he would be left alone once more. He hated being alone because that was when the bad memories came to surface and left him looking like a weeping willow. | |

| "Marcus..." Jacey whispered softly, stepping a bit closer towards the tree. "Please say something, Marcus." It really wouldn't be much of a fun day if she spent most of it worrying about a tree. "I would stay but I have plans..." she mumbeled lamely. Plans with Kyle. She had been dating Kyle for about eight months now and only a month or two ago had they come to the plateau where they were able to say that they loved one another. The last thing she wanted to do was ruin things by missing a date. But then, she was worried about Marcus and his mental state. She was responsible for his health. |

| Just go. Marcus bowed his branches and made himself look like a weeping willow. He covered his face and shielded himself from her. | |

| "Marcus, please." Her voice shook as she spoke and this annoyed her a great deal. Why was she the weak one when there was no reason for her to feel ashamed of having a boyfriend? Why was she worried about a man who had been turned into a tree due to his own mistakes. "It isn't fair that now I'm going to worry about you." she whispered and then shook her head. Walking over to the tree, she sighed and then carefully wrapped her arms around the trunk in an awkward embrace. "I'm not sure if it's the loneliness or the desire to feel some sort of human contact, but I'll try and help you to the best of my abilities." |

| A gasp passed her lips as his branches hit her head and her back. Pulling away from him, she covered her face with her arms and backing away from the wild tree. When she pulled away she saw some blood on her sleeve and realized that she had a whisker thin cut on her cheek. Placing her hand to her face, she looked at Marcus sadly before dismissing herself and leaving. |

| Marcus looked at his branch seeing the blood. He covered himself in his branches crying. | |

| As she walked out of the forrest she could hear the sobs of despair emmiting from the heart of all of the darkness. It sung her heart and she did her best to ignore it. Throughtout her date with Kyle she was dismissive and obviously not all there. When he offered to take her home she sadly explained that she was needed to go somewhere else. Despite explaining that she needed to be somewhere, he begged to go with her out of worry.
Seeing that it was the forest, he wasn't too confused. Ignoring his confused judegement, she walked over to Marcus and hesitantly began to climb his branches. |

| Marcus was in despair. He was all alone, lost everything and he couldn't do anything to get it back. He would always be alone. | |

| She noticed the quivering coming from the tree and found a great difficulty climbing it. As she reached a more private spot where Kyle wouldn't be able to see her, she gently placed her hand against the tree trunk. "Marcus," she murmured gently, resting her head against the hard tree trunk. "I'm sorry for leaving you." she murmured gently. I'll try and stay with you as much as I can tomorrow." It would be cold and terrible outside, but she knew better than to leave him alone for a long period of time again. "I've brought you something to eat." she added, taking out the jar of honey and unscrewing the lid. "I know you're hungry." |

| "Marcus, calm down." she whispered softly, clutching tightly at the branch underneath her. She was conciderably high up and was starting to feel a fear of heights. "Everything is going to be alright." This was before she felt a hand grip her ankle and let out a surprised cry. When she saw that it was Kyle, she helped him up on to the branch. She didn't expect for him to kiss her.
"Mmm, Kyle... No, not up here. Later, please." she mumbeled against his lips, doing her best to not get tangeled up in his limbs.
Kyle laughed softly, "Come on, Sweetheart. We've been together for eight months," he gently moved from his lips and undid her scarf to expose her pale throat. "You're so beautiful, and I want to make you feel it." They had yet to make love. "Please." he kissed down her throat, nipping at the skin every now and then. |

| Jacey gasped as thye branch came out and slapped against Kyle. She gripped tightly on to his shirt and held her to him while he mind whirred, saving him from falling from the tree. "Be nice.." she growled underneath her breath, glaring up at one of Marcus's branches. She carefully caressed Kyle's hair and let him rest in her arms. |

| Kyle was conciderably uncomfortable being tucked up high in a tree. He was questioning of Jacey's decision to be up in the tree but felt that there was a better place for them to talk about it. "Baby, let's leave." he murmured, sitting up and starting to climb down the tree. "it's getting really cold and I don't want you to get sick." Even though ironically enough he had been all gung ho about fooling around before. |

| Kyle cried out from surprise and nearly lost his footing on the lower branches. He climbed down much quicker, sputtering that he would meet up with Jacey at the car. It was a little less than manly to see a fully grown man of twenty-five to be running away in fear of the tree, hardly stopping to make sure if Jacey was even climbing out herself.
With a soft sigh, Jacey shook her head. "That was awfully mean of you." she scolded, her touch still gentle on the weeping tree. "I know that you didn't exactly catch him at the best time, but he really is a sweetheart." She wasn't sure why exactly she was trying to make a tree approve of her relationship when it wasn't any of his business. "I'm not leaving until you eat a bit." she finally said after a long pause. |

| A soft gasp passed her lips and she sat up a bit straight in the branches. "Oh, Marcus," Jacey murmured softly, looking sadly at the tree. "You'e really lonely, aren't you?" she murmured gently, putting the lid back on the jar of honey and putting it back into her branches. Once more she lamely hugged the tree and then laughed softly. "Only yesterday you hated me and were dumping snow on me with your branches." Despite her attempts to be hapyp and cheer him up, she was worried about his fear of being alone. |

| "No, Marcus." she said softly, resting her head against his tree trunk. "You have made a lot of mistakes in your life, but it can't be any fun being a tree. I don't think I'd like being alone for long periods of time with no one there to talk to me." Closing her eyes, she sighed once more. "I put this curse on you and while there may be a few kinks in it," Such as when she had lost concentration and he had briefly changed back into a man, "it will never fully go away until you have broken it." |
