A Werewolf's Heart Part 1.3

Sam frowned and scooted closer to Brados. "I don't remember them..." she mumbled.

"I didn't know them very well, I'm sorry," Nick said.

Sam sighed, shaking her head. "I don't remember anything..."

"You will soon," Brados kissed her cheek.

She shrugged, settling herself back into her small depression.

Brados nuzzled her, trying to cheer her up as he held her close.

Sam sighed, getting up and going off by herself. She brought her knees to her chest and hugged them. She wanted to be by herself again.

Brados and Nick looked after her sadly and sighed. "I'll go back to Ilane," he murmured. "Sorry."

"Not your fault, brother. It's no one's fault," Brados said before Nick nodded and walked back to his den.

Ilane was asleep, holding onto Brianna. She looked peaceful, happy, as she slept.

Sam buried her face between her knees and sighed, trying real hard to remember.

Nick crawled into bed and wrapped his arms around them gently, careful not to wake them.

Brados waited patiently where he sat. He'd sit there forever, or at least until Sam came back to see him.

Ilane sighed happily, moving slightly so she was closer to him.

After a long time, Sam looked up and to the side where Brados was. "I can't remember...."

Nick nuzzled her gently, still a little upset about his sister. He was glad Ilane was in a good mood, though. He stroked her belly gently, turning his thoughts to the baby inside.

Brados opened his arms for her.

Sam crawled to him, sitting in his lap with her legs around his waist and her arms around his neck. She buried her head in his shoulder and cried.

Brados held her, kissing her shoulder and rubbing her back comfortingly. "It's alright, sweetheart," he murmured. "You're still you," he promised. "Most definitely."

she shook her head. "But I don't know who I am... I can't remember anything and asking is only making me feel worse."

Brados held her close. "But asking shows that you care and that you want to be yourself again. More and more of you is shining through, sweetheart. All of us see that. You're trying to push yourself, and you shouldn't do that. Just let your memories come to you - don't go trying to find them."

"But I hate being so confused all the time." she said softly.

He kissed her softly. "Just do what you think is right. Do what your heart says," he murmured softly.

she nodded slowly, still clinging to him.

"What does your heart say now," he asked her softly, stroking her cheek and wiping the tears away with his thumb.

"To stay with you." she said softly.

He kissed her softly. "That's what my baby would do," he smiled softly.

She smiled finally but still clung to him. "It is?"

He nodded, smiling softly and lovingly at her, stroking her cheek. How he loved that smile.

She leaned into his touch and sighed. "I really do love you... don't I?"
