He took her in his arms without waking Conall and carried her to their favorite spot to sit. He shifted into his wolf form and laid down, curling around her. You like it when I do this, he told her softly. He laid his head down between his paws. My past isn't a pleasant one. It's covered in blood and violence. My brother and I were in a violent pack. I left that pack, tired of being angry all the time. I wandered until I saw you. You were the most beautiful thing I'd ever seen. Immediately, I felt protective of you - you were so small compared to all the other werewolves I'd seen. Like a little doll. I asked if I could join your pack, and we've been nearly inseparable since. He curled his tail over her lap like a blanket.

About a year and a half ago, our pack was attacked by members of our old pack. Your elder brother, Al, was killed when he tried to save Raini. Originally, they were mates. Then, my brother Kendal came and fell in love with her. Her heart is healed now, I think. Anyway, our old pack member nearly killed Kendal, so I left that night to go get rid of all of them before our pack could be attacked again. I hated leaving, but... I couldn't stand the thought of losing someone I love. I get very violent when I'm angry, he explained. Though, you've calmed me down considerably. I came back only recently.

she sighed, resting her head on his neck like she always used to do, and wrapped her arms around his tail, holding it close to her. "do we sit like this often?" she asked. "It feels like we do."

Nearly every day, he nuzzled her gently.

"What do you and I do?" She asked, hiding her face in his fur. She was sad, almost clingy, as she sat with him. She felt safe, loved, and warm with him around her like this.

We sit and talk and play with our kids. We cuddle, he nuzzled her gently. You normally play with the kids while I go hunting for whatever we feel like eating. And we do whatever you feel like doing.

"Can we stay like this for a little while?" she asked. "I'd like to hear more about myself."

Of course, love, he said gently, nuzzling her. What else do you want to hear about yourself?

"Do you know my favorite things?"she asked. "Color, food... number..." she shrugged. "I want to be as much like myself as possible."

She nodded, committing that to her memory. "What about you? What made me fall in love with you? 'cause, I can definitely feel that I love you. That we're mates..."

He chuckled. I'm not quite sure... I never did figure out why you love me, but I know you do.

She smiled, still clinging to him. "But still... Tell me about yourself."

He thought a moment. Hmm... Well, I kind of already did. What else did you want to know, he asked, tilting his head.

"Can you tell me about our kids?" she asked.

Conall is our oldest. He's protective of you and his sisters like I am, and he tries to keep you all happy, even if it makes him sad. He's a good big brother to his sisters, always watching over them. Kale is our second baby. I like to spoil her, he chuckled. She looks up to Conall and likes it when everyone's happy. She loves to play and run around. Izzy... I don't know a lot about her yet. You had her while I was gone. I know she's a happy little thing, though. You hardly ever see her not smiling.

"When did you get back?" she asked.

About a week ago. A day or so before you lost your memory, he told her gently.

She sighed, nodding. "how long can we stay like this?" she asked.

For as long as you want, he told her, nuzzling her softly.

She kissed his nose softly and blushed, looking away.

He smiled softly and curled around her in hug, nuzzling her lovingly.

"Talk about me more. Was... Al... my only brother?" she asked.

He shook his head. No. You have a twin, Nick. And your eldest, Ed... He kidnapped Nick's mate and raped her, killing their unborn baby. He nearly killed Ilane. But that was... Five, six years ago? You were pregnant with Conall when it happened. Nick ended up killing Ed for what he'd done.

"That's horrible." she said, gasping. "So... It's only me and Nick? how come he hasn't come to visit like you and the others have tried? Have I really with drawn myself that much?"
