A Werewolf's Heart Part 1.3

It was early in the morning and Olivia woke up. she looked at her parents and crawled between them like she always used to. She'd remembered everything.


Sam had been sleeping in a spot away from Brados and she looked at him. She got up, crawling into the bed with him, laying her head on his chest. She'd come to a decision.

Brados was fast asleep, oblivious to everything, unless someone screamed.
Conall was awake, though. He looked up at his mom tiredly. "Mommy...?" he yawned.

Raini blinked her eyes open and cuddled Olivia close, thinking she'd had a nightmare or something. Raini yawned, closing her eyes again to go back to sleep.

Sam turned over to face him. She smiled softly. "Hey buddy... I'm sorry I've been so distant. Loosing my memory has really taken a lot out of me. I've tried so hard to remember..." she sighed, holding her arm open to him. "Let me make it up to you. help me remember."


Olivia smiled. "Mommy... You're smothering me."

Conall blinked, wondering if he was dreaming. Still, he got up slowly so he didn't wake up his sisters and crawled into bed, hugging Sami. "You still don't remember, Mommy.." he asked sadly.

Raini blinked, looking down at her. "Olivia? Do you remember, sweetheart," she asked, stroking her hair.

Sam shook her head. "No... I don't." she said, wrapping her arm over him, holding her son close. "I'm sorry."

Olivia smiled and nodded. "I dreamed it all last night."

Conall bit back his tears and clung to her. At least she was acting somewhat like his mommy now.

Raini smiled and hugged her close. "You're back! Kendal, wake up! She's back," she said happily, shaking Kendal while nuzzling her baby girl.

Sam held him close. "It's okay. You can help me remember." she said, trying real hard to make things better.


Kendal muttered something before waking up. "What?"

"You and Daddy used to sit in the shade of the trees and watch Kale and me play in the meadow," he said, his voice shaky with tears. "You were really happy when it was our playtime. You like cuddling with Daddy a lot. You told me he makes you feel safe and loved."

Raini sat up, holding Olivia still. "She's back! Olivia's back," she said again, smiling. "Our baby's back!"

She sighed. "what about you? What do you and I do?" she asked.


Kendal sat up, rubbing Olivia's back. "you remember?" he asked. She nodded and turned to hug her dad.

"We sit in my favorite spot and watch Kale try to catch butterflies. And we talk about herbs and plants... I like talking about those things," he added. "And we play with Izzy together and you teach me how to make medicines and things out of the plants. I made you a necklace," he said, getting up and going to get it and brought it back to her. The thread was made of vines. Bark, little stones, leaves, and flowers were used to decorate it. "It's not the prettiest, but it's the first one I made," he said.

A tear ran down her face and she slowly sat up, slipping the necklace on. "It's amazing, little man." she said softly. "Thank you."

Conall crawled back up on the bed and sat in her lap, hugging her. "I love you, Mommy," he murmured, crying silently.

She sighed, nuzzling his neck. "I love you too. I'm sorry I've been like this."

"It's okay, Mommy... Daddy said you're scared because you don't remember... We're scared, too, Mommy," he clung to her. "You don't have to be scared and be lonely. We're here, too."

She nodded. "Thank you." she said softly. "I was just so scared, Ididn't know anybody. I'm sorry."

He yawned. "It's okay, Mommy... I'm tired... Can I go to sleep," he asked, letting his heavy eyelids close.

she nodded, laying down again with him in her arms. "I'm sorry I woke you." she said softly.

He clung to her as he dozed off. "'s okay," he mumbled, falling asleep.

She sighed again, holding him close.

Brados woke up the next morning, stretching, and blinked his eyes open to find Conall and Sam sleeping next to him. He sat there for a long moment, studying both of their faces to see if there was any clue that Sam might have regained her memories.

Sam slowly opened her eyes and looked up at him. "hey." she said softly.

He stared at her and brought his hand to her cheek, stroking it gently, his eyes asking if she'd regained her memories, though trying to be subtle about it.

"I still don't remember anything, but I'm tired of being so glum... I'm going to try to be better." she said softly, leaning into his touch. "I know I love you. I feel it every time you touch me. I want to be better for you, for Conall and the other two... Will you help me?" she asked, he own eyes pleading.

He brought his lips to hers and kissed her longingly. "I'll do everything it takes," he promised in a whisper, not wanting to wake up their babies.

She nodded, slowly letting go of Conall and looking at Brados. "Take me somewhere." she whispered. "Please... Tell me about myself."
