About half way though the day, something started to happen. A man, walked a little to close to her. He smelled something he hadn't smelled in a long time, his brother. He grabbed her, shoving her against a wall in an alley. "Where is the werewolf!" he demanded. Ilane kept shaking her head, saying she didn't know what he was talking about while thinking Nick's name as loud as she could, like he said.

Nick, who'd been relaxing on the couch, heard her cry and got up immediately, shrugging on his shirt and running out the door barefoot. When he finally found her, he growled, not recognizing the man. "Leave her alone," he demanded, pulling him away from her and standing between the two. "What do you want?"

The man looked at him. "Nick?" he asked, not believing it was him. "It's me... Al... Your brother."

"I... The pack needed blankets.... We're moving father away from civilization and we need to be ready." he said a slow smile forming. "I can't believe I found you. You have to come back with us. You just have to!"

Al looked confused. "Why not? She's just a human."

Ilane grabbed the back of Nick's shirt, not wanting him to leave her.

Al looked at Ilane then back at his brother. "Then take her with you. You could change her once we get away from other humans. But, the pack would want you back."

Ilane looked at Nick. "I don't mind going with you. This is your family. You know I don't have anything but you here." she said softly.

"Nick, if you don't want to go back then you don't have to." Al said. "But the pack will want you back."

Al shook his head. "If she's important to you, no one will hurt her."

She nodded, reaching up to cup his cheek with her free hand. "I will. I love you and I'll follow you to the ends of the earth." She told him softly.

She smiled. "So, where are we going?"

"in to the forest. Go home, get what you want then meet me back here later." he said.

She smiled. "You excited to be going home?" She asked. She only wanted him happy.

"I don't know... I'm kind of afraid... But I'm excited at the same time... And happy that they are looking for me," he tried to explain.

"I guess that makes sense." She said softly. "Are you sure you want me to go with you?"

He looked at her as he opened the door to her house. "You don't have to go if you don't want to... It is your choice. Either way, I'm going to stay with you and protect you," he told her.

"So, if I stay then you stay. If I go with you you get to see your family..." she said. "I'll go with you."

He looked at her. "Are you sure, Ilane," he asked her softly. "If we go, I don't think we can come back..."

She nodded. "I'm sure. I want to stay with you."
