"I'm just making sure." she smiled. "Let's go see Dear Jon."

Jack chuckled, grinning as he stood up and crossed his arms across his chest. "Dear Jon? Aw man, I had a feeling you'd pick that. But, it looks good actually, so, sure. After dinner, right?" he chuckled weakly, as he checked on the pasta again.

she nodded. "After dinner."

After a few minutes, he took out the pasta. It looked decent, as if it weren't even left overs. That was his goal. He then served it on two plates. "Hope it's not too bad." he said as he sat down at the table and started to eat.

she nosmiled and went to sit down at the table with him. She tried some then shrugged. "It's alright."

Jack grunted again, sighing. He then finished his pasta, smacking his lips. "I'm not eating leftovers again. Ugh.." he mumbled, shaking his head as he drunk a glass of mountain dew that he poured for himself earlier.

She shook her head. "Left overs are sometimes better the second time."

"Eh, it was better for me the first time. Now it's just..blech." Jack said, sticking his tongue out. "Eh, let me check the times for that movie on my computer. Be right back." he said as he got up and rushed to his office. He then got on the computer, searching online for showtimes for the movie.

Lilli grabbed her make up, going to the bathroom, hoping the hide some of her bruises.

He had found a time for at least eight o' clock. Not bad timing actually. Jack then left the room, blinking. "Lilli?" he called out. He then felt his phone vibrate. A text? He checked it and instantly his blood went cold. It was from her psycho ex. I'm coming for her no matter wat

Lilli came out, feeling a little better. She smiled at him then saw the color in her face leak away. "Jack? What's wrong?" She asked, going to him.

Jack sighed, handing her his cellphone. "Don't get scared, but it seems he's really out to get you." he muttered, angry. Why won't he just leave her alone? What was the appeal in scaring the hell out of an ex? "Just, don't panic, I got it all handled. I'll go out, you stay in here and..we'll see how it goes. I doubt he'll confront me but, if he does.." he said, grabbing the gun and stuffing in inside his jacket.

"No..." she said, going to hug him. "If you leave, then he can get in... please don't leave." She asked, looking up at him with scared eyes.

Jack grunted. Now what? She was scared beyond any understanding. Not like the Lilli he knew. This bastard really did change her. "Ok...I won't leave. We'll go to the movie still, but you have to let me keep my gun. Alright?" he asked, pleading that she would let him.

She slowly nodded. "Alright. But what if you get caught with it?"

"How? I have a license for it, plus it's for protection, especially for you..." Jack said, holding her hand tightly and kissing it. "I love you, and I'm not going to lose you again.." he said, closing his eyes and hugging her. "Trust me."

She nodded. "Alright..." she said, hugging him back tightly. She was scared that Dillon would find her, would start something...

Jack nodded, sighing. "Come on, let's enjoy a movie with no problems, hm?" he said, smiling and trying to calm her down. Leaving the apartment, he went downstairs with her to his old cavalier, old, but really well kept and clean. Opening the door for her, he got in and started the car, driving to the theater.

"He must have gotten your number from my phone..." She said, trying to make sense of all this. She was scared, scared for herself, scared for Jack.

Jack grunted again, trying to not get too angry. "Oh well, I'll deal with the bastard myself, even if I have to fill his head with bullets." he growled, gripping the steering wheel tightly. "How did you even meet this guy anyway?" he asked.

"He was my manager for a while and really nice... He'd give me extra hours while I was going to school so I'd have money... We started dating then moved in together... Then he started getting mean, bossing me around, the first time he hit me, he apologized. I thought I loved him, so I forgave him... God, I just wanted you off my mind. He was so different from you. I sound shallow..."

Jack sighed, feeling a bit hurt, but also a bit stupid too. Look what he did to her. Just because he shunned her away. What an ass he was. "Basically it's all my fault.." he muttered to himself, chewing on his lower lip as he then saw the mall ahead.

She was silent for a moment, not really knowing what to say to him. In some ways it was his fault, in others, hers. "We're both to blame." she finally said softly.

"Yeah, that's true....But I want to make up for those mistakes....I was so..stupid." Jack muttered, closing his eyes once he parked. "I'm sorry...so, so, sorry." he said, looking over at her with tears rimming his eyes and threatening to fall.

She unbuckled and leaned forward, kissing his lips softly. "You're my best friend. I love you so much. Just love me back and everything will be okay."
