Me and Steph!

She shook her head and pulled on his hand to get him back into bed. "No... Stay here. You don't need coffee, you need sleep."

Jack was to protest but, sleep sounded really good. "Ugh....Come on, please, Lilli.." he said, sitting on the bed and rubbing his eyes furiously. "I'm fine, it's not like I didn't do it for college, staying up late." he mumbled tiredly.

She moved to sit behind him and put her legs on either side of him and wrapping her arms around his waist from behind as she kissed his shoulder. "But you didn't stay up late, you stayed up all night... Please sleep. I'll make you some lunch when you wake up."

Jack sighed, closing his eyes and leaning back against Lilli. "God...I guess I could. But, don't even leave this room without the gun. It's under my pillow.." he muttered as he looked over his shoulder to motion towards his pillow.

She stiffened slightly and shook her head. "No... I can't take that thing. Jack, you've got the alarm system and I'm not answering the doo anytime soon."

Jack sighed, nodding. "Fine, but...yell as soon as you hear or see someone trying to get in." he said, getting away from her arms and instead laying down on the bed. He looked absolutely miserable, exhausted, worried, all in one day.

Lilli nodded and got out of the bed. "I'm not going to answer the door and I'll get you if anyone knocks. Now please Jack, get into bed and don't make me make you." she threatened.

"I am in bed." Jack whined, sighing deeply and curling up under the covers. "Do as you like, just don't answer the door or anything to let something or anyone in." he mumbled, almost falling asleep.

She kissed his cheek. "Alright, love." she said softly.

Jack stayed quiet, hearing her call him "love". Why? "Lilli...why do you call me that? I mean..you obviously moved on if you had a boyfriend, despite that he turned out to be a psycho." he mumbled, sitting up slowly and fighting sleep.

"I call most everyone 'love'." she said softly. "Go to sleep, Jack. You need it."

Jack scoffed, rolling his eyes and laying back down. He turned away from her, closing his eyes and trying to catch some shut-eye.

Lilli sighed and left, gently closing his door. She went to the living room and sat on his couch, seriously considering leaving. If she left, then she wouldn't have to go though this pain. She loved him, wanted to be with him but, it was to hard. She couldn't tell him. She got up, grabbing her bag but then only setting it next to her on the couch as she brought her knees to her chest and hugged them close, hiding her face between them.

It was over six hours that he took his 'nap'. Waking up suddenly and looking around, he had almost forgotten that if Dillon had come in, the alarm would've gone off. Everything was fine, right? He got up, slowly and making his way out of the room. "Lilli?" he called out, going back to the room and grabbing his gun. Yes, he did have a license, but he never actually had to use it. That's what worried him the most...

Lilli was still on the couch, her bag next to her. "I think I should go." she said softly when he came back into the living room.

Jack sighed, shaking his head. He was glad that she was still here and hadn't left. "No, we haven't been together in years, come on. Why would you want to leave? Our history is in the past, this is the present, move on. Plus, I'm not letting you go so that that psychopath can kill you." he said as he put the gun away in his backpocket.

"Then why don't you lighten up and put the gun away?" she asked, looking up at him. "I'm not going to stay here while you have that thing in your pocket."

Jack huffed and put the gun away where he had it originally. "Fine. Now will you stop with the whole leaving thing already? Why were you thinking about it anyway?" he asked, curious as he leaned against the counter of the kitchen.

"I don't know... I guess I just had a moment of weakness." she shrugged

Jack sighed, looking away. "Right. I'll let that slide. Anyways, you hungry?" he asked as he got into the kitchen and looked in the fridge. There were some left overs, like pasta and such, but he could manage. "Want some pasta?"

"Have you gotten to be a better cook?" she asked. "I remember you wern't all that great..."

Jack grunted, sighing. "I guess. It's just a basic pasta with meat sauce and meatballs, you like?" he asked as he got out the plate wrapped with foil and setting it on the counter. There was enough for two, definitely.

"I guess." she shrugged, pushing off the couch. Things still felt awkward. She couldn't joke with him the way she used to.

"So..why are you acting so odd around me? Because of what happened those years ago?" Jack asked directly, noticing the awkwardness between them.

"Yes." she said softly. "I mean... you walked away from me..."
