Me and Steph!

Dillon scoffed, getting up and getting out a pocket knife. "Try me, b*tch!" he said, smirking. Jack rolled his eyes, reaching underneath a small table against the wall and getting out a hand gun. "Want to eat lead?" he asked as he aimed straight at his head. Dillon only glared at Lilli, grinning. "I'll come back, she's mine after all. Enjoy what you can....And lilli, love you." he winked as he backed up and ran out. After a few minutes, he closed the door and locked it, putting the safety back on the gun. "Always look through the peephole and if it's someone you don't know, don't answer....Geez. Get the phone and call the police, now."

"I thought that it was the delivery guy... I thought I got away from him..." she said, grabbing the phone trying to stop her hands from shaking.

"Even then, no pizza, it ain't the guy. Goddamnit...I shoulda shot the bastard.." he mumbled as he put the gun away. He had a permit, a long time ago, but he never though he'd have to use it til now. "Anyways, you ok? He touch you?" Jack asked as he walked over and rubbed her back. He could see her hands shake.

"He grabbed me, trying to make it seem like he was hugging me... He kissed me... I tried to push him away, he wouldn't move..." A tear fell down her cheek and she dialed for the cops.

Jack grabbed the phone, hanging it up and putting it down. "He kissed you..." he said, his voice shaky from anger. He had her look up at him, smiling weakly. "Know this, I won't let you get hurt again....He'd have to kill me." he said, kissing her softly. He wanted to erase whatever marks that guy left behind, at least what he could.

"He could do that..." she said, wrapping her arms around his waist. "He can do that and he will to get to me." she said, about to cry.

Jack hugged her tight, shaking his head. "No, he won't. I'll shoot him down before he can even touch you or myself..." he swore, kissing her head. "You're family...I couldn't let you get hurt." he said, even though he wanted to say she was...more than just family. He then grabbed the phone and reported what had happened, which then resulted in a policeman coming by to set up a security system. He'd have to pay it of course but, it was serving a purpose. Took a few hours before everything was installed and such.

Lilli had to give a report on everything Dillon had done to her which was more than she wanted to admit. She'd put up with a lot. Now, she was scared of Dillon and beginning to only feel safe with Jack. Eventually, the police left and Lilli sat on the couch, nibbling at some pizza.

Jack put in the code to set the alarm system on and sighed. Now it was quiet. But the bastard knew where he lived so, he would have no good nights of sleep. He went to the kitchen, silently grabbing a few slices and warming them up in the microwave. "You sleep in my room tonight, I'll sleep out here. Ok?" he said as he waited on the pizza to warm up.

she nodded silently, not saying anything. Whenever she was really truly scared or when she was upset, she drew within herself and it took a while to get her back.

"Lilli, why don't you just head to bed now? You need rest.." Jack said softly as he ate his pizza. He knew she would act like this, but, he wanted her to rest. She didn't need all this drama right now.

She nodded again. "Will you come with me?" she asked softly. "You know I always feel safer with you."

Jack raised a brow but sighed. He knew he couldn't resist that voice and her need of his company. "Ok.." he said as he ate the rest of his pizza and washed the plate, putting it in the dishwasher. "Let's go to bed then." he added as he went to his bedroom and instead laid in bed. He curled on his side, hoping that they wouldn't touch.

Lilli crawled into the bed, laying on her side, her back to him. She wanted to be held, she wanted to cry. But she knew he would do it, wouldn't hold her.

Jack sighed, staring at the ceiling. He wanted to hold her, but would it be appropriate? He sighed again, turning over and pulling her into his embrace carefully, nuzzling her neck. "Everything's gonna be fine...I promise." he whispered.

Lilli turned over so she could hide her face in his chest and started crying. "I was so scared... I'm still scared. What if he gets me... Jack he's insane, I can't get away from him."

Jack held her, rubbing her head and trying to shush her. "Don't be afraid. I got a gun, he has a knife. Do the math. I won't let him hurt you....Trust me." he said softly, kissing her head.

"He'll get a gun.." she said, her whole body shaking. "Just don't let me go. I don't know how I feel about 'us' right now, but I just know I don't want you to let me go."

"I don't care about how 'us' is right now. I just care about your safety. I won't ever let you go..." Jack said, holding her tightly and resting his head over hers and sighing. "Go to sleep, I'll be here.." he said, kissing her head and hiding the gun under his pillow.

She nodded, closing her eyes and letting herself feel the safety of his embrace. Slowly, she fell asleep.

Even as the night continued on, Jack stayed awake. He continued to replay the image of how he found Lilli. So bruised..damaged on the inside even. He just felt terrible, and afraid, too. He stayed awake until morning, listening to any sound that came to his ears as the night went on and finished.

Lilli slept though the whole night, no dream. she really did feel safe with him holding her. She still loved him, couldn't get him out of her head, not once. She woke up that morning, with her face pounding with pain, but otherwise, okay.

Jack noticed her movements under his arms, which had him sigh. At least she slept. "Morning.." he mumbled, smiling weakly with his eyes slitted and almost closed. He never felt so tired and worried at the same time. His chest hurt like hell, too.

She opened her eyes and smiled at him, then frowned and cupped his cheek. "hey... Didn't you sleep last night?" she asked.

Jack sighed, staring back at Lilli. Cupping his cheek and all just made him wish that he had acted on her offer the first time. "No....Not at all, I was guarding the fort, remember?" he said, smiling. "God I need coffee.." he muttered as he got up from bed.
