Me and Steph!

Lilli tucked her legs under her and watched the movie, her hands over her mouth by the end of it.

Jack snickered, looking over. "You ok?" he asked, putting the bowl on the table and pulling her in for a hug. "It wasn't that scary, come on." he laughed.

"Yes it was. Well, no.. it was intense." she said, cuddling into his embrace.

Jack closed his eyes, noting more of how his hugs would've created feelings in her. He was too affectionate with his friends, especially her. "Is this why you like me? Cause we're always..close?" he asked, holding her tight.

She sighed, wanting to pull away but didn't. "Because of that... And, beause you're so nice. you make me smile all the time, even when I don't want to... You know me. I don't have to explain myself to you." she said, nuzzling her cheek into his shoulder.

Jack chuckled, nodding. He did know her, inside and out. Which sucked for him at the moment. "Well, at least give Kyle a try.." he mumbled, though he felt a bit possesive once he said that. "Wanna watch another or, is that too much for you to bear?" he joked.

She looked up at him, her eyes narrowed. "Are you making fun of my bravery?" she asked, teasing.

Jack imitated her, smirking. "Oh hell yeah. You were the one that jumped at almost every scene, especially the one with the possesion." he grinned, winking.

She sighed. "Put on another one. I'll show you who jumps..." she muttered.

Jack laughed. "Aw, don't get mad." he said, rubbing her head. "Ok, pick another movie then." he said, handing her the remote.

She smiled and took the remote, going through and picking a funny movie. She finally settled on Up. She took the blanket off the back of the couch, settled close to Jack and pressed play.

While the movie continued, he sighed, watching the movie and then staring at Lilli. "Lilli...?" Jack muttered, feeling his heart pounding.

Lilli slowly turned to look up at him with a smile on her face. "Yeah?"

Jack smiled. "You know I love ya...right?" he mumbled, blushing a bit.

She nodded slowly. "As a best friend." she said softly.

Jack gulped and looked away. "Right.." he mumbled. How stupid of him to attempt something so crazy. Though once the movie was over, it was late enough. "Eh, well, you should go home, isn't it almost dinner time for you?" he smiled weakly.

Lilli looked at her watch, the one he gave her, and shrugged. "Mom's not home so it's just me. But I've got homework and what not." she sighed, getting up and smiling at him. "Walk with me?"

"Don't I always?" Jack smiled as he got up and followed her to the door. Once outside, he closed his door and looked back at her. The sun was setting, it was a perfect moment. He pressed her against the wall gently and slowly, sighing. "I'm sorry..." he mumbled, kissing her softly.

For a moment, she kissed back, shocked but slowly melting into the kiss. Then, her scenes took over and she pulled away. "Jack... Please don't. You don't want me like this... You've made that clear to me. Don't make me feel as if you love me more than just a friend." she begged, looking away from him.

Jack sighed, closing his eyes and looking down. He pressed his head against the wall and grunted. "I don't know what's come over me....But just thinking about you being with Kyle drives me nuts. I don't even know if I even want to go out with this girl next week." he mumbled, feeling pathetic.

She looked at him, lifting his head to press her forehead against his. "What are you trying to say?" she asked softly.

Jack stared back, blushing. "I-I'm not sure.." he mumbled, closing his eyes tight and wincing.

"Think about it, K?" she asked softly. "I like Kyle, you put me in good hands." She said softly then slipped away from him. "Thanks for a good night. I'll see you later."

Jack stayed in that spot as Lilli left. He sighed, closing his eyes again and then staring at the wall. He screwed it up, for good. He shuddered, going inside and closing the door. He then just laid in bed, trying to think and get himself straight. This was wrong.

Lilli went to her room after grabbing some random thing to eat. She sat on her bed, checking her phone that she'd accidentally left on her bed. Kyle had called. Despite herself, she smiled, and called him back.
