Heather followed out after him, pulling on the jacket. She walked behind him for a moment, closing her eyes. "So, who all am I meeting exactly?"

"You know, I'm glad I met you" she said with a smile. She felt like she was just meant to be with him, like it would be one of those things that just worked, though no one could imagine how. She didn't mind the dea of having his kids, or staying with him over everyone else. She didn't even mind his family.

He looked at her curiously. "I'm not so sure if you should be," he said gently. "You've been brought into a very dangerous world, thanks to me seeing your birthmark. I'll set up a place for you in the nearby Darkhaven for your safekeeping. You'll be save there, and you can continue with your job and meet more Breedmates like yourself."

"My safekeeping?" she said with a smile and a little laugh. He made it sound like she needed to hide. She wasn't in any more danger, really, than any other human. She could have been killed just as easily, if not easier, by not knowing this stuff. "Will I still get to see you?" she questioned, watching him. She didn't really want to be anywhere where she wouldn't be able to see him.

He looked at her. "I suppose you can still see me, when the number of Rogues have gone down," he agreed. "But I'm afraid you don't quite understand. You being a Breedmate... It makes you a target. If the Rogues or Minions found out what you are, they will take you and force you to give them offspring, then kill you once your body is worn down enough," he explained gently.

"Well, you'd be meeting everyone else that's like me and like you. You'll get a good explanation as to why suddenly rogues and their minions are probably targeting you. It's not pretty, just so you know." Drake explained, sighing as he got to his bike, glad it wasn't destroyed or anything. "Just trust me, ok? Do you trust me at all, even?" he asked, looking at her with a stern face.

Heather smiled and slid behind him, wrapping her arms gently around his waist. "I trust you more than you realize. So, what you're saying is that we're going to meet family-like people?" She smiled and rested her chin on his shoulder. "I think this will be fun..."

"They practically are family. So, yeah, be prepared. But don't worry, you're perfectly safe." Drake said, revving up the engine and taking a moment to sense his enviroment. Always he had to be on the lookout. Always. He sighed with relief as he sensed no others and took off.

Heather nodded, holding on tighter when he took off. The previous night's incident didn't really occur to her until they were going at top speed. That was when she dropped her head into the crook of his neck and stayed there with her eyes closed. The forced the rogue had used to rip her from around Drake was terrifying. She thought she could take care of herself. In some cases, she would need him ocmpletely.

"Oh..." she said slowly. She wasn't the type that liked to be put somewhere safe while other people went off to protect her. She didn't like it at all. But at the same time she had a feeling it would be stupid of her to not go along with it, since she didn't feel like having the offspring of some guy she didn't even know. The dying part didn't sound like much fun either. "Do you think there's anything I could do to help?" she questioned curiously. That would make her feel better.

He shook his head. "Women, Breedmates in particular, do not belong on the battlefield," he said. "There is enough death without female blood being spilt."

She rolled her eyes at that, and thought for a moment. "I mean... is there anything I can do to help that wouldn't include getting in a fight?" she questioned. She was sure there could be somethin to keep her busy.

He sighed, thinking a moment. "What is your ability," he asked. "What can you do that no other human can?"

"I'm not sure, I've never tried to do something that humans don't normally do. I'm new with this, remember?" she questioned with a smile. She didn't know she was supposed to be able to do something that other humans couldn't, except breed with one of these guys.

He thought a minute. "Maybe you can help us gather information. It'd be safer to do so here than in a Darkhaven... I'll talk to the girls about setting up a guest room for you."

"That would work for me until I find out what I can do that others can't" she said with a smile. It could work for her well enough, she figured. Her ability she would just have to stumble upon along the way. "Thankyou" she said after thinking it through.

He nodded and swallowed. He had the urge to push this woman against a wall or pull her to him and press his lips to hers. The image entered his mind and rooted itself there like a weed, spreading until it was all he could think about. No, no, no. He couldn't take her. She was a Breedmate. She deserved someone who gave her all of his attention, who would be there all the hours he was awake, instead of fighting the enemy. She deserved to be happy and safe, not in danger at his side.

Till the day they met and she figured out what she was, she would never be safe again. The thought of her being ripped apart or drained of her life made Drake tense and feel intense anger. It was tough, having a mate, even if they yet confirmed it or admitted what they were to each other. Though the attraction was there, obviously. He felt her fear just by her actions, and it only made his desire to protect her stronger. She would be safe at the haven, along with the others. "You don't need to be afraid, you should know that with your ability and my being here would be enough to kill any rogue to stand in our way, including their minions." he said aloud over the roar of the engine.

Heather blushed, smiling. What he said made her feel safer than anything else in the world. "Thank you..." She smiled, feeling the fear sort of melt away. She liked how serious he was about protecting her. She still held him tightly, but not out of fear. More out of desire to hold him; to be near him. She sighed, kissing his neck softly. "What you said means the world to me..." She knew she would never be safe again. She understood that she would have to deal with whatever happened from then on out... But she was more than happy that she wouldn't be facing all of this alone.

Drake smiled, feeling a nice warmth wash over him. He was glad that Heather at least trusted him in such a fashion, with her life. As they picked up speed, he held onto the handles tightly and hoped to get to their safe haven quickly. It was hidden, so it would be hard to make such sharp turns soon. "Hold onto me tightly, it's going to get bumpy." he said, reaching the main road and taking a right off onto the dirt, straight into the woods. Hey, we're coming. Get the others to open up.

Heather nodded, making sure to hold on to him tightly. She wasn't quite sure what she needed to hang on for, but when he turned off the main road onto a dirt drive... Well, she knew that it would be very smart to make sure that there wasn't a chance of her falling off, or getting pulled off. She pressed against him, biting her lip. She would admit that though they were in a tight race to keep her safe, she was having the time of her life behind him. It had been a few years since she'd rode a motorcycle...

She gave him a smile, glad she could do something to help out. He started acting a little different though, and she could sense it in a way, since she was used to analyzing people all the time. She wasn't sure what it was though. "Thanks a bunch" she said, and gave him a hug. She liked him alot and was glad he was the one to fin out about her, and not someone else.

He blinked at her hug and hesitantly wrapped his arms around her. Not used to female contact, the male in him enjoyed her display of thanks, enjoyed her smell... "Are you wearing perfume," he asked curiously.

"No, I normally never wear perfume. Why?" she asked with a smile as she pulled out of the hug.

He leaned down and inhaled her scent and let the breath out slowly. "You smell like lilacs," he said, standing back up.
