"Hmm. I'm not sure. Not much really, except maybe my birthmark. And I have a crazy uncle, literally. Other than that, nothing I can really think of" she said honestly. She never thought of herself as anything but normal, and no one has ever given her a reaon to question that belief.

"Your birthmark," he asked curiously, looking at her.

"Yeah, you know, the one near the back of my neck. Shaped like a tear drop." she said with a shrug. "The doctors thought it was a bit strange, I guess." That was one of the more interesting things about her. I was perfectly shaped, which was pretty cool.

He blinked. "Interesting. Do you mind if I take a look," he asked. Better to ask permission than think he's a jerk.

"I don't mind" she said with a smile. She stopped on their path and moved her hair over so he could see it clearly. It was a question people asked every so often, so she figured it wouldn't make a difference if he saw it too.

He gently ran his fingertip over it. She was a Breedmate. "Interesting," he murmured. "There are a few women I know who have this exact birthmark, only on different parts of their body." He figured he'd better start gently.

"Really?" she said with a smile. "That's pretty neat." It also let her know that she didn't have to put too much thought into it, if other people had one too. That made her feel a little better. She tried to ignore the little chill that ran down her spine, because she figured there was no reason for it.

"You can come meet them, if you'd like. They're wives of my brothers-of-sorts," he smiled.

"Sure, why not? I'd love to" she said, and began walking again. It wasn't often when she found people like her, even if was just something as small as a birthmark. "Your family of sorts must have a knack for finding people with them, considering I've never met anyome with one" she said with a shrug. Maybe it was mroe common than she thought?

He chuckled and lead her to his truck, which looked more like a tank. He opened her door for her, ready to help her in if she needed it. "It's only a short drive away, really," he smiled and closed the door, then got in on his side and drove to the compound, which looked like a mansion above-ground. "Home sweet home," he smiled, pulling into the driveway, and got out, helping her out and walking to the elevator. "Don't be surprised if it looks more like a headquarters," he told her. "We like our privacy."

She stared at the building when they got to it, and took the help out of the truck. "Pretty awesome" she said with a smile. The drive was pretty short. She got into the elevator with him when it came down, and was busy thinking that it did seem more like a headquarters, if you took in the fact it was rwally big and had elevators.

He walked out of the elevator with him and walked to the board room, where his brothers-in-arms were lounging in the chairs with their feet up on the table. The only one not sitting was Luke, who was leaning against the wall as he normally was. Detached from the rest of them.

"Where are the girls," Vince asked. Diz, the computer nerd-of-sorts, looked up. "In the parlor. Who you got there?"

"Hello, my name is Irene" she said with a smile. "And you are?" she questioned. She figured he must be one of those sort-of brothers Vince had talked about. There were quite a few of them, really.

"I'm Diz, that over there is Luke. He don't talk much. Adrian's the one sleeping with his feet up, and that's Duke." Duke nodded and waved, looking at Vince a little curiously. Vince ignored the look. "My brothers-of-sorts," he told Irene. "Now for their wives," he chuckled and lead her through a maze of hallways to the parlor. "Can I come in, ladies," he asked through the door after he knocked.

"Come on in, Vince," one of them said. Vince opened the door and walked in with Irene. "I'd like you to meet a friend of mine. This is Irene," he motioned towards her. The three ladies smiled at her in welcome. "Nice to meet you," they all said in unison and laughed at each other. "I'm Crystal, Diz' wife. This is Teressa - Adrian's. And-" "Sammy. Duke's wife," she smiled.

"It's nice to meet you all" she said with a smile. They all seemed nice enough, though it may be a little difficult for her to remember all the new names. They all also seemed very comfortable with eachother, and didn't seem to mind living in the same home, since she assumed they all lived here.

"I wish we knew you were coming over. We would have already made you some tea," Crystal smiled, getting up to get her a cup and saucer. "Please, have a seat. Join us. We were discussing how to decorate for Christmas. Maybe you can help us," she smiled, sitting down and handing her her cup, which she'd poured tea in. She set some sugar in front of her and took her seat.

Irena gave Vince a questioning look, but nonetheless sat down. She had just met him the day before, and his sisters-in-law were already inviting her to help decorate for christmas. How odd. "Thankyou" she said, as graciously as she could, and added sugar to her cup of tea. These girls reminded her of the Stepford wives. They just seemed too welcoming and perfect. Surely this was just some facade.

Vince shrugged. "They're forces of nature. I'm powerless to stop them," he told her, making the girls laugh. "We aren't that bad," Teressa chuckled.

Vince raised an eyebrow, but otherwise made no comment or gesture. "Have fun. I'm going to check on things. I'll be back shortly," he said, nodding his head to Irene, and left, closing the door behind him.

Sammy smiled at Irene. "So, we were thinking of hanging some garland over the fireplace, here, with pine cones and maybe some hangers for stockings. And a tree over in the corner. Other than that, we're stuck," she smiled sheepishly.

She gave a little wave bye to Vince, hoping he wouldn't leave her alone too terribly alone. "Well.... How about some christmas lights somewhere?" she questioned. That surely wouldn't look too bad.

"Why didn't we think of that," she smiled.

Crystal looked around the room. "Maybe some in the garland? Or around the fireplace, in the corners, and around the doorway?"

"That might be too much," Teressa thought aloud. "She goes crazy at Christmas," she whispered to Irene with a chuckle.

Irene smiled, not able to help herself. She did seem a bit extreme with the christmas decorations. "That sounds good" she said with a little shrug.

"See? I'm not crazy," Crystal smiled.

"We didn't say crazy," Sammy chuckled.

"Hmm, so how many feet will we need," Crystal murmured to herself, going to find a tape measure.

Teressa laughed and turned to Irene. "So how did you and Vince meet? He's usually not one to bring home a girl. He must really like you," she smiled.

"Well, we met just yesterday night actually, at a bar. We talked for a while, and we hung out some tonight. Then he brought me over here to meet everyone. He seemed intersted in my birthmark, and said you guys have one just like it" she said with a smile. It was nice to know that his bringing her here must mean he really liked her, because she liked him, too.

"Ohh, really," Teressa smiled. "Mine's on my right hip. Sammy's is on the backside of her ear, and Crystal's is on her palm. Is that all Vince said about your birthmark," she asked curiously, wanting to know if he'd already told her if she was a Breedmate.

"Yeah, that's all he's said about it. Mine's near the back of my neck" she said with a shrug. "Why? What else would there be to tell me about it?" she questioned a little uneasily. Surely that was it, right?
