A Werewolf's Heart Part 1.2

Brados raised his eyebrow curiously but didn't object as his baby brother walked towards Raini and bent down to his knees.

Raini backed up a step, watching him cautiously. He was handsome. Very handsome. And he seemed truly sincere about her loss. "My mate was killed. I only told him I was pregnant this morning," she told him, her voice shaking; she fought her tears for once. "Your pack robbed my baby of its father. I will never forgive that."

"They tied me to a tree so I couldn't run ahead and warn you. I really would have if I was able to. They don't think there should be a pack this big." he mumbled then looked up at Raini. "You're a beautiful young lady. Please let me help you. I understand your loss and I would like to make amends."

"How would you help," she asked. "You can't bring Al back. That's all I want."

"Please... I know I can't give you your mate back, but I see you're hurt more than anyone else. Please let me help you. Even if it's just getting you food." he said, still on his knees in front of him. He really was a gentleman and he wasn't going to take no for an answer. Even if she did say no, he'd find a way to help. He'd help everyone.

She growled in frustration, but sighed and nodded. "Fine," she muttered. She was kind of hungry.

Kendal smiled a loving smile at her and stood up, taking her hand. "Thank you." he said then looked around for the food. "I just.... I don't know where the food is." He said. He was rather funny, but, Raini probably wouldn't laugh.

Raini sighed and led him to where the food was, grabbing some bear and deer meat and taking a bite of each before heading back towards Sam, Brados, Ilane, and Conall.

Kendal sighed and followed her. It would take him quite awhile to become part of this pack like his older brother had.

Conall cooed happily as Brados sat back down by Sam and kissed her cheek.

Raini gave Sam a small smile as she sat down and finished eating before she turned her attention to her newborn nephew. "He's so cute... Can I hold him," she asked Sam quietly.

Sam nodded, holding her arms out to Raini. "Go ahead. You're gonna need the practice."

Raini took her nephew and cradled him, smiling softly down at him. "Hi, there," she murmured softly.

Conall gurgled and wrapped his little fingers around her finger when she stroked his little hands. He stuck her finger in his mouth, looking up at her with big, curious eyes.

Sam smiled and cuddled into Brados, closing her eyes. "I'm tired..." she mumbled.

He smiled and held her close, rubbing her back lovingly. "Sleep a while, then, love," he murmured softly, kissing the top of her head.

she nodded, already on her way to dream land.

He smiled and held her close as she slept.

Raini smiled softly, rocking the baby boy as he slowly fell asleep in his aunt's arms.

Ilane smiled, going over to Nick and hugging him. she was exausted, she hadn't slept in more than a day.

Nick hugged her back and kissed the top of her head. "You look exhausted, honey. You've got circles under your eyes," he lifted her up, bridal style, and walked to their den, laying her down in the bed.

She smiled, cuddling into his embrace. "I haven't been able to sleep since yesterday morning." She mumbled.

He smiled and kissed her softly. "Then let's get you to sleep," he murmured, laying beside her and wrapping his arms around her.

"You haven't cried over Al yet, have you?" she asked, looking up at him. They'd been so busy it seemed as if Raini was the only one who was really grieving.

Nick sighed sadly and nuzzled her. "I've been busy... Burying him and trying to make the burial site fit for him... We went all the way to the cliffs to get rocks to surround the mound to make it look nicer. It'll look better once flowers are laid on him... We all decided that Raini should be the first to lay flowers for him," he murmured in explanation.

She nodded, turning so she was on her side facing him. "She'd like that." she said softly, running her fingers through his hair. "We're alone right now, and if you need to cry, it's okay." she said softly. It wasn't good for him to keep things buried.

He smiled softly and kissed her forehead, letting tears leak out of his eyes silently.

She kissed his cheeks, holding him close and crying softly herself.

He held her while they cried, and eventually fell asleep.
