Finally a home~ Private

"What are you getting?" she asked.

"Heh, the chicken fingers with a side of fries. I don't want to get too full. Gotta keep up a good health especially in my profession." Joshua said, seeing as most of the food seemed expensive and full of other things like fat.

She smiled. "I want that too. Only with more fries." She didn't care about health right now. she'd eat whatever the baby wanted.

Joshua laughed. "Yeah, go nuts." he said, getting a waitress and ordering for the both of them. Obviously he chose water for himself and orange juice for Marley. "Something good for the baby." he smiled. As the waitress left, he yawned, looking at his wife. "You look really happy."

She smiled brightly. "I am happy." she said nodding. "Are you happy?"

Joshua nodded. "Yeah, very. Couldn't have it any better." he chuckled, smiling and rubbing her hands. Soon within a few twenty minutes, their food came along with their drinks. He then dug in, catching glances at Marley every chance he got.

Marley bounced her leg as she ate. She hardley looked up, the food was too good for a pregnant lady not to eat.

Joshua snickered. "Enjoying the food?" he asked, noticing she hardly looked up and was pretty much devouring the food on her plate. So much for the cliche, it's true that pregnant women eat like insane.

She finally looked up and smiled at him, turning slightly red. "Sorry... It's good." she smiled.

"I can see that. Just finish up, take your time." Joshua said, finishing his plate and leaning back, taking sips from his drink. He was glad that she had such enthusiasm. Heck, it's better than any crazy fits that most women have when pregnant.

Marley soon finished and sat back, rubbing her belly. She sighed happily. "I'm ready for bed now." she smiled.

"Alright, let's go then." Joshua said, getting up and putting the money down for their meal. Grabbing her hand, he left the restaurant and waved for a taxi. "So, off to bed as soon as we get home. You need rest." he added, kissing her cheek and holding her close by the waist. The taxi soon came along and they were taken home. As they got inside, he rubbed his arms and shivered a bit. The AC had been left on cool because of the heat from earlier. "Want me to turn the AC off?" he asked, shivering.

She nodded, almost falling asleep on the way there. "Yes, It's cold." she mumbled, going up the the bed and pulling her pants off. Even those were a little tight because of her belly. She sighing, pulling on a loose shirt and laid down on the bed.

Joshua yawned, taking off his jeans and shirt, remaining in his boxers. He had felt a bit hot, but oh well. Getting into bed, he hugged Marley under the covers. "Ok, night." he said softly, kissing her cheek and closing his eyes.

Marley smiled and cuddled into him. "I love you my husband." she whispered, closing her eyes for sleep also.

But as the night went on, Joshua felt as if he was in a sauna. He coughed, sitting up abruptly and looked around. He could see smoke coming up from below. "Oh shit! Marley wake up!" he said aloud, getting up and looking for the fire extinguisher amongst the irritating ringing of the fire-alarm.

Marley sat up abruptly and coughed because of the smoke. She got off the bed and onto the floor. She knew from many classes that smoke rose so she had to get on the floor if she wanted the baby to be okay.

Joshua knew of the risks of smoke to a pregnant woman. Going downstairs, he saw fire from the fireplace having spread to the couch and rug. "Crap!" he yelled, using the fire extinguisher but already hearing sirens from a firetruck. They were especially loud as he was trying to control the fire.

The smoke got worse and Marley stayed on the floor. She started coughing really badly and yelled for joshua. She didn't want him hurt.

Joshua rushed upstairs once the firemen got inside after kicking the door in. "Marley!?" he yelled, coughing and hacking, finding her and picking her up. "Just hold your breath for a little bit." he said aloud, rushing downstairs again and outside, seeing the smoke filling the house and the outside. Looked horrible.

Marley was having trouble breathing and she was coughing. She held her small belly, willing the baby to be okay.

The paramedic was informed, Joshua praying that the baby was fine. They had to take her to the hospital though, just because the equipment for checking on a pregnant woman's child was there. Joshua had of course accompanied her, holding her hand tightly.

After a while of waiting and lots of coughing, Marley was told that her baby was fine and that she should just take it easy for a while. Nothing was wrong.

Joshua was glad as they were in the lobby. "I'm so glad the baby's fine.." he muttered, rubbed Marley's belly. "Are you ok?" he asked, kissing her softly and holding her. He hadn't been so scared in his whole life til now.

Marley nodded, holding onto him as she cried into his shoulder. "I was so scared..." she whispered. "for you and for the baby."
