| Jen laughed softly, and then looked thoughtfully at her friend. "Sometimes, though, I can't understand why you would do so much for me when it always seems like I do so little for you." she murmured, and then shook her head. "Going to this concert will be fun. I'm not sickishly in love with Russel, and we'll be able to just enjoy the concert, maybe get a few t-shirts and autographs while we're backstage and leave. No waiting in a long line to see Russel." |

| Alex looked at her. "I don't care if you don't do anything for me," she told her. "We're friends. There doesn't have to be any paying back. I do it because I care," she smiled.
"Thank you," she said from the bottom of her heart. "Thank you, thank you, thank you, THANK YOU."

| Jenny grinned and then laughed. "Now how did I know that you would like hearing that part the most?" she said thoughtfully, though she knew the answer quite well herself. When she really thought about it, it did seem kind of stupid waiting two hours in line to see some play boy rock and roll musician. |

| (It's alright ^__^ I'm gonna do a time skip, if you don't mind.) Eventually they had paid for both the tickets for the show and the backstage passes. It was only a few days before the concert, and Jenny was going over what she would be wearing to the concert. At the previous concert she had worn a mini skirt, and a bunch of other unpractical clothes in hopes that she would look sexy. Now she wanted Alex's help in picking out a more practical outfit to wear to the concert. |

| Alex went over to Jen's house to help her pick out more practical clothes for the concert. "Well," she said, walking into her room with her. "It is summer. I'd suggest shorts or capris with a t-shirt or tank top. That's what I'm wearing, anyway," she said. "My semi-worn capris with a kinda-loose-fitting t-shirt, with my sneakers." | |

| Alex was always someone good to go to for advice when she needed help with practical thinking. Jenny tended to be a ditz sometimes, albeit a good natured ditz. "That sounds pretty practical." She looked around in her closet for her jean capris with the holes in the knees, being a fan of the worn look. She took the hanger they were on, and then paired them with a band t-shirt for Chasing Oblivion. |

| Alex looked at what she'd picked out. "That looks perfect. Practical, cute, and comfortable," she smiled. "Nothing can beat comfort and practicality." | |

| Jenny laughed. "You're right. As always." she said, gently brushing some lint from the sleeve of her t-shirt, and then placing it on a hanger with the pants, and placing it in her closet once more. Now everything was ready. |

| "Alright. Are we eating before we get to the pavilion, at the concert, or afterwards," she asked so she knew how much money she needed. | |

| Jenny shrugged. "Why don't we go and eat before we go to the concert? I think it would be better that way." she already owed Alex for going to yet another concert with her that she really didn't want to be at. |

| "Yeah, sure," Alex smiled. "It makes sense, considering everything might be closed once the concert's done," she laughed, not having thought of it before. "So, where are we eating?" | |

| Jenny shrugged. "Where ever you want?" she asked, grinning softly. She didn't want to be pushy about anything. "Maybe we'll come across some burger joint or something like that before we get the concert." She was still getting used to the area that they concert was being held at. |

| "Yeah, sure," Alex nodded. "Sounds fine to me." So, only about five or six more dollars. Not too bad. Especially since those stupid backstage passes are so cheap... That's still weird.

| (According to FF.net it could take up to 4-8 hours to be publicly published, so I'm taking the link down until I can find it without being logged in. How annoying, though.) "I know. Normally they would sell for like $100 a pop." Jenny said, and then laughed. "I highly doubt that you're really complaining that you only had to shell out like eighty dollars for them." she teased. |

| "I'm definitely glad it's not expensive as last time. I thought it would be, considering how popular his new song is," she said. "I thought they would have jacked the price up by at least fifty percent." | |

| Jenny sighed softly. "Maybe we just caught a lucky break." she said softly, and then smiled softly at Alex. "Maybe Russel and Chasing oblivion wanted to be more considerate to all of his fans. He has a larger fan base now because of his newest song, you know." |

| "Yeah, you're right," Alex said, thinking about it. "And with lower prices for tickets with a concert right after his 'hottest' song came out, that's sure to be a lot of money for him, too," she sighed. She had to admit, it wasn't a bad marketing strategy. She was sure Russel's manager was pleased with the money going into his pocket. | |

| "Sometimes rockstars can be smart." Jenny said, grinning softly to herself and then gently brushing some of her hair out of her eyes. "I can't wait to see this show." She really was a fan of his new song, and while she missed his old hair cut, she couldn't deny that he looked cute with his new hair style.

| [Yeah, sure =3]
"I guess so," Alex shrugged. She really hoped the song wasn't about her. If it was, she REALLY hoped that Jen wouldn't get mad at her. After all, she hadn't done anything.

| The soft sound of the water driplets pouring from the showerhead filled the bathroom. Within fifteen minutes or so Russel turned the faucet and stopped the water. He stepped out of the shower, and grabbed for a towel, casually drying off his body before wrapping the fluffy towel around his waist. Glancing in the mirror, he groaned softly, self consciously running a hand through his short straight hair. "God, this had better work." he muttered, going off to dress into his outfit for the concert. |

| Finishing her breakfast, Alex ran upstairs to take a shower and brush her teeth. She knew Jen would kill her if she was late, and she'd already slept in past what time she'd planned on getting up at. Hurrying with her shower and her teeth, she got dressed in her semi-worn capris and shirt, pulling on socks and sneakers, and grabbing her wallet and keys before running out the door and getting into her car. Her hair normally dried to the style she liked, so she left it alone. She pulled up in front of Jen's house and honked two short honks. She was five minutes late; good, she wouldn't get that bad of a lecture. | |

| Jen looked up hearing the two shorts honks, and got up from the couch. Saying goodbye to her mother, she then left the house and walked down the porch to Alex's car. She was five or so minutes late, and that put them a little off scheduele, but Jen wasn't sure if whether or not that gave her the right to chew Alex off for it. Gently smoothing out her t-shirt, she took a seat beside Alex in the car, and then fastened her seat belt. She paused for a minute before finally asking, "Did you sleep in late?"
Russel walked out of his dressing room, now fully clothed. What he was wearing resembled what he was wearing in the music video of Bed of Roses. Ever since he had gotten that power ballad accepted by his manager, he had gotten a bigger fanbase, even attracting some older women to his music. He wasn't quite sure how he felt about that. |

| Alex started driving towards the pavilion that the concert was taking place at. She nodded at Jen's assumption. "Yeah, sorry. I hurried as fast as I could. If I drive fast enough, we'll be there earlier than what we planned," she said, smiling sheepishly. | |

| A small laugh passed Jen's lips. "I'm not angry!" she murmured, laughing. "I'm just surprised that for once Alex has messed up and I haven't!" Gently brushing some of her dirty blonde hair from her eyes, she chuckled. "It's just a big shock to me is all." she explained. |
