Deryk pulled up to her house and walked in. "Kat," he called, walking up to her room and heard her groan in the bathroom. "Kat, honey, are you alright," he asked through the door, worried.

Kat straightened up from her slouch against the counter, sighing as she opened the door. She handed the test to Deryk, biting her lip. "De-Deryk...."

Deryk blinked and looked down at it, and froze. Was she really pregnant? He looked up at her and wrapped his arms around her. "It's okay," he whispered. "I'm right here; I'm not going anywhere."

She was ready to burst into tears, but all of that fell away when he wrapped his arms around her. She rested her head against his, not sure what to say. "I don't know how to feel right now love... I'm so confused."

He looked at her and stroked her cheek. "Do you want to keep it," he whispered. "Whatever you want to do, honey, I'm by your side 100%," he promised.

Kat bit her lip, shaking from forced-down sobs. "I... I have no... No... No idea right now. It's just so early. I can't even believe it's possible."

He stroked her cheek and wrapped his arms around her. "Shh, baby, it's okay," he whispered soothingly, rubbing her back and holding her close. "It's okay," he repeated soothingly.

Kat shook her head slowly, biting her lip. "No, I don't think it is. I don't think it ever will be..."

"Oh, honey, do you really believe that," he asked her softly. "I'm about to get a raise. And once school's done, I'll be working full-time, which is twice the money. I'll save every penny I can," he promised, stroking her hair.

Kat bit her tongue, fighting back more tears. "But... I won't be able to finish senior year with you. I'll have to go to some private school that all pregnant teenage girls go to. I.. I can't do that. I won't do that. I still just can't believe this happened."

"You don't have to go to some private school, honey, you can still go to our school. I see pregnant girls walking around the halls, and they don't care at all," he kissed her forehead. "It's going to be okay," he told her gently.

Kat closed her eyes, viting her lip. "Deryk, I can't... Not right now. We were going to go to college together, get our masters degree. I can't have a kid right now. That would mess everything up." Tears slid down her cheek as that realization dawned upon her.

He held her close. "We'll figure this out, baby," he murmured, letting her cry. "I'm right here, whatever you want to do. I'll never leave you," he promised, kissing her forehead.

Kat looked up, tears clouding her eyes as she kissed him gently. "I can't have a baby right now. I'm not ready."

He nodded and kissed her back softly. "Do you want an abortion then," he asked quietly. "Or you could have it and we could put it up for adoption," he said, thinking through their options.

Kat bit her lip. "Adoption..."

He stroked her cheek and kissed her softly. "We don't have to decide right now, love. You can sleep on it and decide what you really want to do," he told her, still holding her close.

Kat nodded, wiping her eyes on a towel on the counter. "Thank you Deryk... So much."

He kissed her forehead. "Do you want me to stay here tonight? I'll sleep on the couch and if you need me I'll be right there."

Kat looked up at him with unnaturally soft eyes. "I need you with me now..."

"I'm right here," he whispered, stroking her cheek and kissed her softly. "I'm right here," he repeated. "I'll stay as long as you want."

Kat nodded, sliding her hands gingerly into his as she led him to her room. Her parents were still at work thank god, so she closed and locked the door behind her. She walked over to the bed with him, laying down beneath her covers and pulled them up to her chest.

Deryk walked with her and crawled into her bed next to her, wrapping his arms around her comfortingly.

Kat rested her head on his chest, silently crying as she felt most of her world start to tremble and shake.

He rubbed her back comfortingly, letting her cry it all out.
