Kat rolled her eyes. "They know exactly where I am. They like to do call rounds when I'm gone for a while: cops, fire department, poison control, Rachel, Hannah, my cell. If I don't answer my cell - I'm with my boy. In this case anyways..." She smiled, kissing him deeply.

He kissed her back lovingly. "Either way, you need to eat dinner," he murmured aganist her lips.

Kat kissed him back softly. "Fine, I guess I could eat something... Not that I feel like it with you next to me like that, but I could if I haaaaaad to..."

He smiled and kissed her softly, then got up, pulling his clothes on. "Come on, love," he murmured, smiling softly at her. "We never did get to the grocery store; I'll go tonight, I promise," he smiled.

Kat smiled, sitting up. "Fine. Now, where's my skirt at? I think it got lost somewhere between the couch and the floor."

He smiled and kissed her, then went to go find it. He brought it back to her, handing it to her. "Here you go, love," he smiled.

Kat smirked and pulled it on. She stood up, smiling. "I can't do anything like this.. Too exposed don't you think?"

He smiled and kissed her neck. "Hmm.... Personally, I think it's too much covered up, but to go home, I think you might want to put more on..."

Kat blushed and walked out of the room for a moment. She walked back in, clasping her bra back on with her tank-top in her other hand.

He chuckled and kissed her softly. "I'll go start the car. I love you," he hugged her close before he let go and went to his car.

Kat smiled and pulled on her shirt, stretching and yawning as he went to get his car started. She walked through the apartment, taking in the scene. Pillows splayed out on the floor, couch turned at an angle. She chuckled, resting her hands on the kitchen counter.

He came back in and smiled, walking up behind her and wrapping his arms around her. "You okay," he asked, laying his head on her shoulder.

Kat looked up, smiling gently. "Oh yeah. I'm fine. Just a little light-headed for a second."

He felt her forehead. "We should get you home," he said, a little more worried now. "Get some water and food in you and let you sleep."

Kat nodded slowly, turning to kiss him gently. "Yeah, that sounds like a good idea..."

Deryk spent the next few weeks between working, spending time with Kat, and doing his homework so his grades would stay up.

Kat stared at the wall in front of her, her eyes heavy and wide at the same time. She curled up on her bed, her arms around herself. She loved him, she really did. but she couldn't be pregnant! They.. They were protected. Almost all the time. Save for the first few times. She grimaced, her hands now resting on her stomach. She was begging God that it was just a late start...

Deryk pulled out his cell phone on his way home from work and pressed the speed dial button to Kat's cell phone. He called her every night on his way home from work; this was normal.

Kat heard that distinct ringtone of Deryk's, sighing as she picked up the phone. "Hey babe, how was work?" She leaned forward, grabbing the small EPT box out of the grocery bag on the floor.

Deryk sighed. "Boring, as usual. I might be getting a raise soon," he smiled. "Boss said I was doing good and to keep up the good work; that usually means something. How are you doing," he asked.

Kat listened intently. When he asked her how she was doing, she sighed. "Well, that's something I want to talk to you about, but I'm not sure yet so it'll have to wait for a few minutes.."

He blinked and thought a moment. "I'm afraid you've lost me, honey," he admitted. "Do you need me to come over?"

Kat bit her lip, nodding gingerly. "Uhm, yeah... I think you should."

Deryk nodded and made a u-tern right there in the street. Thank goodness it was empty. "I'm on my way, love," he said, sure she could hear his tires screeching in the phone.

Kat sighed. "Alright, I'll talk to you when you get here love." She ended the call, walking to the bathroom. She took the test, her eyes closed from the answer for a long time before she read it. Positive. She sighed, her head falling to her hands. "Oh. My. God..."
