Charlie nodded, his eyes glazing over. "Oh yes, definitely. I still wake up and think I'll see a note on the pillow telling me it was a joke or something. But, no note..." he said, shrugging. "Still, you can't dwell on the past. You have to move on."

"I'm trying, I really am. But... you had something to live for. You needed to take care of your son. I lost everyone... I don't have anything to live for." she said.

"Really? You don't have any dreams like college or something?" Charlie asked, chuckling and leaning against the counter in the kitchen as they moved into that room.

She shook her head. "I'm a good student and when college comes around, I'll study something. But I don't have much to live for anymore."

"Heh, I'm sure you'll find something." Charlie grinned, winking. "So, what would you like for uh, lunch?" he asked as he looked in the fridge.

"Can we go out? I've never had take out Chinese." she said.

"Hm? Uh, sure. Go up and tell your brother that we're going out for chinese." Charlie said, grinning.

She nodded, kissing his cheek softly. "Thank you." she said, going up stairs. She followed the cursing and went into a spare room. "Hi Alex. how's it going?" she asked.

Alex twitched, looking up. "Oh hey, and uh, pretty good I guess." he mumbled as he showed her a somewhat recognizable sweater. It wasn't that bad, but he wouldn't tell her to wear it. His fingers (almost all) were pricked somehow and had red dots on each, just one meaning he pricked himself one on each. He was clumsy.

She smiled. "It looks good. I can't wait to wear it." she said. It wasn't as bad as it looked it was mostly cut on the seams so all he had to do was resow the seams. she bent down and kissed his cheek. "Thank you for fixing it."

Alex sighed, nodding. At least Sami humored him. The seams weren't hard but there was at least a few that weren't on the seams. He blushed as she thanked him and kissed his cheek. He chuckled, smiling. "No problem. So uh, why'd ya come up here?"

"We're going to get some chinese food. I've never had take out chinese so, we're gonna get some." She said, perching on the edge of the desk.

Alex licked his lips. "Chinese? Great, this will make things so much better." he said, smiling as he continued to sow. "Can't Dad just go out and get it? I haven't even gotten finished with the sweater." he muttered, looking up at Sami.

"You can finish it later. I want to go out to the restraunt..." She said. "I mean, if that's okay with you. I can go back to dad and ask him to go get some."

Alex sighed, nodding. "Yeah, I guess my fingers need a little break. Let's go." he said, getting up and placing the sweater carefully on the desk beside Sami. He then left his room and went downstairs. Charlie raised a brow. "You're coming? Hm, I thought you would've suggested that I go get it and come back." he chuckles, grabbing his keys.

"He did." Sami said, behind Alex. "But he's a good brother and is going out with us." She smiled at Alex.

Alex sighed, nodding. "Yeah, a good brother." he chuckled, shaking his head. Charlie did see a bit of change in his son, but he was glad. Going out to the car, he got in. "Come on guys, I'm starving." he said, starting the car.

Sami smiled. "I call front gun." She said, jogging to the front seat. She didn't know the expression was 'shot gun' not 'front gun'. she was a foreign girl who lived in an orphanage for the last 7 years. Who could blame her for getting a little confused.

"It's shotgun!" Alex said, laughing. Getting in, he got in the backseat, yawning and buckling in. Charlie only snickered. "It's fine." he said, smiling as he then drove off to a Chinese place.

Sami turned in her seat to look at Alex. "It's shotgun?" she asked. She turned a little red. "Good think I have you around. I wouldn't want to embarrass myself in public."

Alex nodded, chuckling. "Duh. And yeah, of course." he said, winking. Charlie sighed, shaking his head. "Wow." he mumbled, grinning. As they arrived, he licked his lips. "Here we are, Panda Express." he said, almost drooling. "Aw, awesome." Alex said, smacking his lips and getting out.

She smiled, getting out of the car. "Is this a good place or something?" She asked, looking at the two guys.

"Oh yeah, definitely." Alex said, smiling. The three went inside, the smell of chicken amongst other flavors too. "So, what would you want?" Charlie asked.

She smiled, looking at the menu. "Can we get some Orange Chicken" She asked. "What are popstickers?"

"Kind of like huge ravioli on sticks." Alex said, licking his lips as he asked for Orange chicken and steamed white rice. Charlie had done the same for the rice, only with sweet and sour chicken. "You can get anything you want, Sami." he said, smiling.
