Sami washed her face, put make up on, brushed her teeth and got dressed. Nodding at herself in the mirror, she put on her favorite sweater. One her brother gave her. It was one of her most prized possessions. She went down stairs, acting like nothing was wrong again.


((So, I'm thinking that one of the girls who is jealous of her because she's got Alex worried about her, cuts up her sweater, totally devastates her. We need something like that to happen.))

((Hm, I guess so. Might as well get some tension in, right? =3))

Alex had changed also within the two minutes. He already had a pop tart waiting on Sami as he ate his without a plate. He would stay silent. Heck, it wasn't his business anyway. He then looked at his watch, whistling. "Just a few more minutes, hurry up." he said, smiling weakly, then finishing his and going upstairs to get his backpack.

((I'm thinking she could go into P.E. and a girl who has a crush on Alex is jealous and cuts up Sami's sweater. She breaks down right there in the locker room when she finds it. She's sent to the counselor and everything. That get's Charlie to come get her and Alex is there, trying to comfort her and what not...))


Sami nodded, eating her pop tart fast and waiting for Alex. She was glad that he was concerned for her, but wasn't asking questions. He understood. She knew that sometimes he would want to handle his mom's death on his own. That's how she felt only on a grander scale because she lost everyone.

After rushing for the bus with Sami, the classes would switch periods at least twice a week, which was new since the principal never changed many rules. Still, it was new this year. Their first class was P.E. Separating off to get dressed, one particular girl, a blonde just 5' 2 1/2 and petite looked dangerously at Sami. She hated how they were siblings, even if it was just through adoption. Hell, she saw the guy first! Even before his mom died. She was surprised though that their lockers weren't far from each other's in the dressing room. "Hmph, what is it like being Alex's sister? Hm?" she asked obnoxiously.

Sami shrugged. "Just like being his friend." she said, folding her sweater nicely and putting it in front of her locker. It would be safe there. She walked back into the gym, ready for P.E.

Alissa scoffed, noticing the sweater and smirking. Taking out a pair of scissors from her back pack, she started cutting apart the sweater without remorse and soon ran out to class. Alex however noticed the girl, but never really thought something was wrong as the class began.

Class went on and soon, it was over! Sami went into the locker room after everyone so she didn't change with a crowd around her. She saw her sweater and screamed.

Alex was changing and had heard the scream. It was familiar. However at the locker room itself, Alissa only smirked. She continued changing as if it was nothing. However, once he got fully dressed, he called out to her. "Sami!?"

The coach went over to Alex. "You're Sami's brother, right? your father adopeted her?" He asked, once he got the yes answer, he nodded. "She may need you right now. She's crying over a sweater and we don't know why."

Alex nodded, rushing into the locker room and seeing Sami down on the ground and holding onto the sweater. He glared at the girls whom already were dressed, but he knew it was one of them, or more. He kneeled beside her, rubbing her back. "Hey, what happened?" he asked softly.

"It was cut up..." She said, whimpering and moving so the bits of the sweater was visable. "It's my brothers sweater. He gave it to me the day before he died.... It's destroyed."

Alex grunted, sighing. "I could get a friend to sow it back up. She's pretty good at that." he said, rubbing Sami's back. "Come on, let's get out of here." he said, helping her up and getting out of the room. Soon the coach led them to the counselor's office, calling Charlie. Within half an hour, Charlie arrived, worried as he walked in. "Sami?"

Sami just held onto the sweater, crying slowly. She knew it was weird of her to freak out like this, but she tried really hard to keep the sweater smelling like her brother and keeping it nice all these years.

"Sami, what happened?" Charlie asked, rubbing her back just as Alex had. "Someone tore up her sweater, it was from her brother..." he muttered, sighing as he was trying not to get too angry. The counselor had tried to console her, but knew she had to go home. "You both are excused from school for the rest of the day, your sister needs the both of you at least." he said, writing them passes.

Sami sighed, pulling away from her sweater, all the peices were put in a bag so they didn't get lost "I know this is stupid... it's only a sweater..." she said, trying to make it better, trying to let this make sence in her head.

Alex shook his head, sighing. "Don't say that." he said, getting up from the chair. Charlie took the two to the car, silent as he drove home. "Sami, I know that sweater meant a lot to you, but I think it can be sowed back up. Would you like that?" he asked after they went inside.

She nodded, "Yes. I would like that alot." she said, her Australian accent showing a lot right now.

"Alright, uh, Alex, I know you can sow. Go ahead." Charlie said cheerfully. Alex however went pale. He only knew a beginner's way of sewing and it wasn't by choice! "Dad!" he hissed quietly but sighed, closing his eyes. "Give me the bag, Sami, I'll do my best." he said, holding out his hand.

She nodded, handing it to him. "I'll understand if it isn't perfect. It's only a sweater." she said. Only the most important sweater to her, but, still only a sweater.

Alex grunted. There was the damn guilt trip. "I'll do it right. Trust me on this." he smiled, going upstairs and then grumbling and cursing. Charlie sighed. "I'm sorry that that happened. The brutes..."

It wasn't a guilt trip at all. She really did understand if it wasn't all that great, there were small peices taken out of it. "It's okay." she said softly. "It's only a sweater." she said again.

Alex spent quite a few hours on it. Still, Charlie continuesly tried to calm Sami down. It wasn't just a sweater. "Sami, it was from your brother. I understand, so don't act as if it's nothing. We're family after all.." he said, smiling.

she looked at him and sighed. "My brother gave it to me the day before he died. he said that we'd always be together..."

Charlie nodded, looking down. "Well, hey, your brother will always remain in your heart, loved ones aren't ever truly gone." he said, trying to have her look at the bright side of it. "Ouch! Sh*t!" was heard from Alex's room. Looks like he already began poking himself with the needle.

Sami chuckled at Alex's cursing and then sighed. "I know that's right... But, it just hurts more knowing that they're gone. Have you ever dreamed of your wife and then wake up crying because you know you can never hold her again or ever hear her laugh? That's how I wake up almost every morning.
