She smiled and picked up the ball, pretending to throw it in one direction then throwing it the opposite, just to mess with the dog.

Joseph ran the one direction, then leaped in the other direction to catch the toy in mid-air. He tossed it up onto the bed at their feet and barked playfully.

He jumped up on the bed and crawled to Amy, laying down to make sure she was warm.

He chuckled. "I bathed while you slept. I had a meeting with my guards to tighten security so you'd be safe," he kissed her cheek.
