Matthew sighed, looking away and turning his head away. "You should continue your shower..you don't want to get a cold." he muttered, not completely oblivious to her not having clothes on and having only been soaked a bit from the water.

She nodded, feeling a pang in her heart as she got up and went to finish her shower.

Matthew didn't want to push her away like he did, but he wasn't feeling at his best. He had gotten up, looking out through the window and sighing as he watched the cars go by. Just like those lives that were lost, they went by. "I swear...when we find that bastard..whoever did this with Marek..I'll tear his guts out." he growled intensely.

She got out of the shower, clean and refreshed. She sighed, realizing they hadn't brought clothes, and went back in, wrapped in a big towel. "you think someone else was involved," she asked, hearing his accusation.

"It's obvious, why would it just be a bunch of minions and one vampire? Gimme a break.." he muttered, shaking his head. "Maybe someone in the higher ups, like someone in the dark havens. They couldn't have placed bombs everywhere...I think." Matthew muttered, grunting. "God I'm going crazy." he muttered again, closing his eyes.

"Why would the darkhavens want to hurt their own residents," she asked, horrified. His theory did make sense.

"Not necessarily their people..but mostly because they crave the old ways back. Just the higher ups, not the damn rich. Like heads of the dark havens...they may have 'tried' to get their people out, but they could care less." Matthew said, going back to the bed and sitting down. He looked over her and sighed. "Don't have clothes?"

"I think we were too concerned to get clothes," she admitted, self-conscious now.

Matthew cleared his throat. "You should get under the covers.." he muttered, looking away. He wasn't in the mood for their bond to suddenly come into play.

She did, looking at him. "What are we gonna do now," she asked him quietly. "Where will we go?"

"First, you ladies stay here when it's night time. We would go out and check out the compound. We need to make sure it's safe..and if not, we'll inform you." Matthew said, thinking that's what Lucan would say. He's been around the guy enough to know some things.

She nodded in understanding. "I didn't look to check for any minions when we came in, I was too tired. Did you sense any," she asked, wondering if they were safe to sleep during the day.

Matthew shook his head. "I didn't even smell them. So obviously, no minions here. Not yet anyway." he said, sighing as he rubbed his face. He was definitely tired. "We should rest..."

She nodded, yawning in agreement as she laid down.

"I'm sorry if I'm being harsh..it's just, a lot happened." Matthew said, sighing and laying beside her, rolling onto his side and looking at her. "I'm just glad you're still with me.."

She snuggled closer to him. "I know, you don't have to explain," she told him gently, kissing him softly. "And I'm here because you and Lucan had an apparent death wish," she said. She didn't like the stunt they pulled, running into Marek's hiding place like that, but she was glad they came out safely.

Matthew grunted, kissing back. "Well that death wish is around us all the time...it's not easy being a warrior. You'll need to understand that." he said, kissing her again and caressing her cheek. "If we were to have children..it would've been a lot harder..trust me." he said, staring into her eyes.

"I understand," she nodded, nuzzling his hand. She looked up at him, her eyes asking an unspoken question on if he wanted to have children with her.

Matthew would love to have children. But with things as they are right now..it's a miracle that Tess can be so calm while pregnant. "You want children?" he asked, wondering himself if she did.

She nodded, blushing slightly. "Once it's safe enough," she specified.

Matthew chuckled, holding her close. "How many? Just to be curious?" he asked, kissing the side of her head and keeping his lips there.

"Uhm... Two?" She guessed, not sure exactly.

"Wow, well then, two boys." Matthew nodded, smiling. "I love you, just know that.." he muttered, caressing her cheek and kissing her softly.

She smiled and kissed him back. "I love you, too," she told him honestly, nuzzling him.

"Now rest." Matthew muttered, holding her in his arms and watching the blinds only glow brighter. It was still sun outside, and he was waiting for that moment to go out and figure what's up with their compound.
