He woke up and sighed, and decided to pass the time by going online.

When she finally got on FaceBook she was surprised to see that he was already a friend of her's and assumed that she had proably friended him a couple of years back when she had been a freshman. Biting her lip, she clicked his name and then "send a message" and decided to invite him to lunch where she would tell him about her predicament.

As soon as he went on his FaceBook account he saw her message. He curled his eyebrow at this. Why would she invite him for lunch? What was she getting at? He sighed and replied, say that he will be there

Since it was still pretty early she suggested they meet at 1:00. She needed a good half an hour to fix herself up. If she showed up with puffy eyes and tear streaked cheeks he would head for the hills before she could even open her mouth. How in the world was she going to tell him? Sighing, she noticed something on the floor. Going over to it, she picked it up and saw that it was one of his socks. Raising a brow, she decided that she now knew how she would tell him.

He nodded and walked out of his place with a wallet. If she was inviting him to lunch, he would be a gentlman and pay.

He was going to hate her for this. Sighing softly to herself, she left the house once she had finished freshening up. Once she arrived at the local diner, she got a table for the both of them and waited quietly. While she had an idea how she would tell him, she didn't know what to do once he actually found out. It wasn't going to be pretty.

He walked in the dinner and saw her. He went to the table and sat accross from her

"Hey......how are you?" he asked, smiling gently

She coughed a bit. "I'm, er, doing alright..." she mumbled, having difficulty looking up at him. Sighing softly and brushing some hair from her eyes she tried to act like things were alright and normal. For most of their lunch she talked to him about regular things like his piano lessons and practises. When the lunch neared the end, she cleared her throat and reached into her bag. "You, er, forgot your sock..." she muttered, handing it over to him. It looked like it had something in it, and it did. One of her pregnancy tests.

Why would she go through all this trouble for a sock? He raised an eyebrow and took the sock

"There is something in this" he said

He opened it and saw the positive pregnancy test, and his eyes were wide with shock

Serena looked away from him when he took out the pregnancy test, though she knew that he was stunned. She tentively turned to look at him and then sighed seeing his wide eyes expression. "Yeah..." she muttered, looking down at her hands. "It, er, seems that there is a bit of a problem." She knew that their was a quick way to get rid of their problem, though she wasn't sure if she could do it.

He looked at it

"Well....have you told your parents yet?" he asked

She coughed a bit and brushed some hair from her eyes. "It really didn't seem like a smart idea to tell them about this without knowing where the, er, father was..." she bit her lip, knowing that he probably didn't want to be refered to as a father. "I'm not asking for anything from you." she said after a long period of time. "I just thought it only be fair that you know."

"I'll take the consequences" he said, rubbing his eyes

"I'll be with you through all the doctors visits, and when you give birth" he said

"Do you want this?" she asked quietly, looking down at her hands. "Once you sign your name on the birth certificate even if you choose to marry another woman and start a family with her you will be paying for this child until it is 18 years old." Serena felt horrible for putting him in this situation all because of her stupid, drunken loneliness.

"I have to..I made this mistake and I have to pay for it. It would be irresponsible for me to not at least care or pay for a child who is mine" he said

"I'm sorry..." Serena said, finally looking up at him. "I promise that I'll try and do my best to not be too much of a burden to you." While it wasn't what she was used to, she was planning on getting a job now that she was expecting. As much as she hated to even think about it, her time as a carefree party girl teenager was over.

"I'll work too...." he said

"Well I already do.....but I'll work harder to care for the baby" he said

"If you have any problems with your parents you can stay at my place" he said

Serena sighed and shook her head. "My parents will be overly supporting and they'll probably buy the baby all of the latest in educational toys and all of the best clothes. The biggest problem will be that behind their smiles I know that they'll be dissappointed in me." She came from an upper middle class family with overly supportive parents and a lot of money. Her biggest problem would be knowing that deep down behind her parents support they would be secretly praying for her to either get an abortion or put the baby up for adoption.

"Alright......so what do you want to do?" he asked her

She shook her head. "I don't know." she admitted. "I don't think that I'm ready to be a mother, but then I'm not sure if I can handle the guilt of just," she bit her lip, "Getting rid of it." There was still the fact that if they were to have the child and she would put it up for adoption it would probably be placed in a foster home which was not always the best environment for a child. Serena was disgusted with herself for being so weak unlike Dan who was ready to own up and take responsibility.

"Well........we'll go through this together as best we could" he said, holding her hand

She was surprised when he placed his hand on her own and looked up with wide eyes. "T-thank you..." she whispered. When they had been together weeks ago of course he had been rough with her and almost emotionless, it had just been a one night stand. With that in mind, however, she still found herself amazed by his kindness.

"So...I suppose the only thing left to do his talk to your parents" he said

"I suppose so..." she mumbled, looking away from him a bit. "You don't need to worry about us being hicks or anything..." she stuttered, after an awkward silence. "They aren't going to go after your balls with a shot gun after they find out. Just... don't be frightened by their... perfection." Her parents were clean cut, go to church every Sunday, "love waits" kind of people. They hadn't even known that their daughter was sexually active or that she had been on the pill.
