It's a Love Story

"If you ask them not to they wont." he said shrugging.

She nodded and thought how she would explain her situation to his parents.

"Let's not think about sad things right now though." he said, smiling at her. "You want to go somewhere else?"

She shook her head. "I like nature. It's comforting, never changing and always there," she said softly. "And my toes are stuck in the clay," she chuckled.

He chuckled. "Guess we gotta stay here then."

She smiled at him and jumped as a fish swam against her leg.

He smiled and moved behind her, sweeping his arm under her knees and picking her up, pulling her feet out of the clay.

She squeeked and clung to him, not being used to being off of her feet and held by someone else. She was also blushing, which even in the dim light, was easy to see.

He smiled and ignored the blush as he walked back to the shore and set her on a rock.

Still blushing, she looked up at him. "What'd you do that for," she asked, still a little stunned.

"You said you were stuck and from personal experience, when you're stuck in clay you'll only get my stuck the longer you're well, stuck. And my legs were getting cold." he shrugged, smiling at her.

She chuckled. "Well that makes sense," she nodded.

He nodded. "It does."

She smiled. "What do you like to do besides draw and paint?"

"Hang out with friends mostly. Party. I spend time with my family a lot." he said, smiling at her. "What about you?"

"I like to sit outside in my tree and just watch everything."

"In your tree?" he asked, looking at her.

"We have a big tree in our yard. I like to sit in it because I'm the only one who's small enough to maneuver up there without breaking any branches."

He smiled. "that's cute."

She chuckled. "If you say so."

He smiled and started pulling his socks and shoes on again. "Is there anywhere else you want to go?"

She shook her head. "No, not really."

"Would you like to find a place to sit and just talk?" she asked.

"Sure," she nodded, pulling her shoes on.

He grabbed his sketch pad and stood, holding his hand out to her.
