It's a Love Story

Rosie was at the door, which was cracked open, listening, though she made sure to stay silent and out of sight. She frowned sadly. Why couldn't Ren just stay with them? She was a good girl, she deserved more than that.

Rose shook her head. "Mom and Dad would take any money you give me.. And they'd probably sell the clothes you bought me... It makes me happy that you offered, though. Thank you," she smiled.

"Well, as happy as I am to know you're happy with the offer, it wont get you anywhere..." Lilli frowned. "Have you talked to child services? You can be put into a better home."

"I thought about it after talking with Jon... I know it's the smarter move, but I might miss my parents... They're my parents, you know? The only family I have. I don't want to do something I'm going to regret later, so I'm thinking really hard about it."

"Can she stay here? I can drive her to her parent's whenever she wants and here she can stay safe." Jon asked.

"I don't know...." Lilli mumbled.

"Why not, love," Mike asked her, taking her hand. "Don't you remember when we first started out? Before you were pregnant with Rosie? If your father hadn't been as... jerkish as he was, I'm sure Ma and Pa would have let you stay with us."

Lilli looked at her husband and nodded. "Alright." she said softly, looking back at Jon and Ren. "She can stay. But you stay in your own rooms."

Ren nearly started crying again as she hugged Jon's parents. "Thank you... Thank you so much."

Mike was surprised, but he hugged her back. "Just as long as you take care of Jonny," he winked at her.

She smiled and nodded. "I'll do my best."

Lilli laughed and hugged Ren back. "We'll still go out and get you clothes. You can also make the room how you want since it's yours now." she offered.

Rosie smiled, hearing Ren could stay with them. She peeked her head in and snuck up behind Ren, hugging her.

Ren squeaked, startled. "Rosie, you scared me!"

"I know. I'm so happy you can stay with us!! We are SO going shopping," she grinned evilly.

Ren looked a little scared.

"What? We have to get you clothes to match your new look," she insisted.

Jon smiled, holding Ren's hand, "Don't worry about my older sister. She's a singer and all of them are into shopping and fashion, just look at Taylor Swift."

"Speaking of which," Mike grinned.

Rose looked up at him - he'd gotten her attention. "What did you do?"

"I might have asked her to come visit our little town and throw a little concert with you," he said.

Rosie's squeal could be heard from three houses away.

Jon laughed and led Ren out of the room before they went deaph.

Ren laughed, following Jon.

"THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU," Rose repeated to her dad about ten times as she hugged him.

Mike laughed. "You're welcome. She'll be here in two weeks, while you're on break from school. She wants to hang out with you, your brother and sister, and your closest friends. No more than two each. She's only one girl," he chuckled.

"Yes, Daddy. Thank you thank you thank you!!!"

Lilli laughed. "Bette be ready." She told her daughter.

Jon took Ren to the spare or guest bed room, holding the door open for her. "It's got it's own bathroom and everything."

"So this is my new room?" She smiled. "I feel bad just staying here, though. I want to help out with something," she told him. "As payment in some way."

He shook his head, going to sit on the bed. "No, it's okay. I mean, you can help out with dishes and what not."

"But that won't pay for my food... Or all the clothes I'm apparently getting," she smiled sheepishly.

"We've got money. And I don't see any better way then to spend some of it on you." he shrugged.

She blushed. "But still..."

"Ren, don't worry about it. Everything will turn out okay." he said, smiling at her.

She looked at him like she wasn't sure, but she didn't argue.

He stood and took a step towards her, taking her into his arms. "Please smile. You're safe here..."

She blushed and hid her face, hugging him. "Is it bad that I feel like I belong here, with you and your family..?"

"Naw." he smiled, nuzzleling into her neck slightly. "We're so cool that lots of people think they should belong with us." He said, teasing.

She chuckled. "But I really do feel that way," she said, looking up at him.
