Trace and Me Only!

She nodded quietly a couple tears rollin down her cheek.

He kissed her forehead. "Whenever you're ready. It doesn't have to be anytime soon," he told her softly.

She nodded tilting her head back trying not to cry even more about the whole situation. "I had this check...from this guy for a lot of money, enough to like...buy a house or....pay for college for Chris... I just..wanted to do that for him...I wanted him to grow up and go to college."

He nodded quietly, stroking her hair gently. "It was from me," he told her quietly. "And the clothes."

"What why?" She asked looking at him. "I just met you like...yesterday. Have you been stalking me?"

He shook his head slowly. "No, Beth," he told her gently. "We met at the bar last week. I took you out, not realizing you were a breedmate," he glanced at the birthmark on her foot. "I had unintentionally took you as my mate."

"Woah, wait...what?" she asked. "I would have remembered this...I went to Hawaii though..."

He shook his head and gently placed his forehead on hers. "Close your eyes, love," he murmured, putting her in a trance. "Remember what really happened," he whispered, transferring his memories to her.

Her memories came flooding back to her, and she just started bawling. "I went back and i got them killed. It's all my fault." she said curling up into a small bawl. "I killed them...."

"What? No, no, no, no, no," he drew her close, holding her. "No, Beth, you didn't get them killed," he kissed her forehead. "You can't blame yourself. The rogues are greedy bastards who got a tiny whiff of your blood and went after you. It isn't your fault. don't you dare blame yourself," he told her gently.

"But I went back...they'd still be here if I wasn't so goddamn selfish!" she cried clinging to him. "It's all my fault."

"And I wasn't selfish enough," he hugged her tightly without crushing her. "I should have said you had to stay with me. Or at least stayed in the vacant apartment on a different floor so I could have been there sooner..."

She just continued to cry, it felt like her heart was torn in two all over again.

"Oh, beth," he hugged her tightly, pulling her close.

"I can try to revive them," Jess murmured, looking at her friend sadly.

Kade looked up at her, surprised. "I thought you could only heal."

Jess nodded. "I haven't tried to revive someone. Why not try now? Would that be alright, beth," she asked her friend, holding her hand.

She nodded, "They don't deserve to die so young..." she said biting her lip.

"I'll try to revive the little one first," she said softly. "If I succeed, I'll be very tired. It will take me a while to regain the mental strength to try to revive his mother," she told her gently.

She nodded in thanks, "It means a lot...they're my life..."

Jess nodded and went into another room.

"Do you want to be there, love? If she succeeds," Kade asked her softly.

"I would love to, but I can't see them...dead...and...if she fails, it'd be like loosing them all over again, I can't do that three times..." she said quietely sniffing.

He nodded and held her close. "We'll wait, then." He soon heard the little boy's voice, asking where he was and where his mom and aunt were.

"Your aunt is right through that door, sweetie," Jess' tired voice answered.

Chris walked in and ran to his aunt, "Aunt Bethy what happened?" he asked crawling into bed with her.

Bethany hiked her blankets up as high as they could go seeing she wasn't dressed yet and looked at Kade, not sure what to say.

Kade kissed her forehead. "Stay here. I'll go get Lucan," he told her and left, nodding to the boy.

"Where's mom?" he asked quietly, "how'd we end up here?"

"Mom's sleeping right now hun." she said kissing his forehead and pulling him into a big bear hug.

Lucan growled "YOU WHAT? Normal humans are not allowed down here, Kaden. No exceptions."

"I can't leave my mate miserable, Lucan," Kade said, knowing he was probably signing his own death warrant by talking back to the Gen One. "Her family, especially that boy, is her life."

Lucan growled furiously, pacing back and forth.

"When will mommy wake up?" Chris asked looking up at him.

"I don't know, but it's best to let her rest." she said quietly hugging him.

"I think I had a bad dream." he said. "Vampires hurt us. One took you away, then the other two hurt mommy, and then they bit me. I woke up and look aunty Bethy." he held up his arm showing some scars from the attack.

Bethany really didn't know what to say.
