"No, it's not. It's disgusting," he shook his head. "It caused a big increase in Rogues, too. It was too hard to resist the smell of freshly spilt blood."

"What are these rogues?" she asked.

"Vampires who have lost themselves to bloodlust. All Rogues think about is blood. It rules them."

"Once one's a Rouge, can one become like you?"

He shook his head. "It's extremely rare for a vampire to get out of being a Rogue. I've never heard of it before."

She nodded. "how many Rogues are there?"

"It's hard to say... There are a lot, though. And their numbers have been increasing lately. We're trying to figure out why and how to stop it."

She nodded. "Alright. Sorry I'm asking so many questions."

He smiled. "It's alright, really. Feel free to ask anything."

She smiled. "Anything?"

"Anything," he nodded.

"How come you haven't found a mate? Thousands of years... lots of girls."

"I haven't really been looking for one," he told her. "I want to make sure everything is safe before I think about starting a family."

"Hypothetically, what if you feel for me?"

"Hypothetically, if I did feel for you... Hmm..." He thought a moment. "I would probably take you despite my better judgment. Hypothetically," he chuckled.

She smiled. "Hypothetically." she said again, nodding.

He nodded. "Then there's your answer," he smiled.

She nodded. "So, tell me about yourself."

He smiled. "What do you want to know, exactly?"

"I'm not really sure. I'm no good at small talk..."

He chuckled. "Alright, then. I'll start from the beginning. I warn you - it's quite violent," he told her.

"That's alright." she shrugged.

"Alright. Take a seat, then. It's a long story," he smiled and looked down at his knees, letting himself remember back to when he first could.

"My father was an Ancient. The original vampire, you might say. Somehow, they'd come to earth, all eight of them, and began learning how to survive. They learned soon enough- Earth was crawling with humans. They gave into their lust and bloodlust and eventually, having relieved their tensions on Breedmates, concieved the first Breed. Eventually, I was born. My father had taken a castle from a king somewhere in Germany, the same place where Niko is from. We stayed in that castle, the three of us. When I was about... eighteen, or so, my father killed my mother in a fit of Bloodlust. I killed him and declared war on all of the Ancients. That was when we formed the Order to protect as many Breedmates as we could."

"And that's what you've been doing for the last few thousand years?" she asked.

He nodded. "Kind of... Once all of the Ancients were killed, we moved to the New World and began looking for Breedmates. We knew they'd want to come where they could start anew, instead of being accused of being witches and whatnot. So we found them, explained to them what they were, and formed Darkhavens, where most of them found mates. Some of them are still alive and have grandkids and great-grandkids of their own."
