"How did I become a Breedmate?" She asked. "Was my mom one or whatever?"

He shook his head. "No, it's not from either of your parents. It's... It's like a mutation, though it isn't bad. Your reproductive system is just mutated to bear human and Breed children. And whatever ability you possess."

"I don't know if I posses any ability though." she said softly.

"You do. You just haven't discovered it yet," he told her gently.

"Do all Breedmates have a bower?" she asked.

He nodded. "Yes, all of them do. Some of them discover their power when they get very angry, or after they first taste their mate's blood. Some just stumble upon it while others know what makes them different since they can remember."

"So, I'll eventually discover it?" she asked. "That's good I guess. What if I don't like my power?"

He nodded and shrugged. "Not all of us like our power. Mine is more of a curse."

"What's your power?" she asked.

"I'm a pyrokinetic. A fire burns inside of me. When I'm angry enough, the flames engulf me and burn everything around me and I can't control it or put it out. And the thirst afterward is terrible. Both the fire and thirst get worse each time."

"Can you like, light a candle with a point of the finger?" she asked.

He shrugged. "I suppose I could. Once I figure out how to control my power."

"You don't know how to control it?" she asked.

He shook his head. "No. I guess I've been to afraid to try it," he murmured.

"How come?" she asked. Sometimes she was more curious for her own good.

"I don't want to be consumed by it. I don't want to end up becoming a Rogue because of my ability."

"Can that happen?" she asked.

"It will, if I let my fury control me," he told her gently. "The fires will keep building and building, leaving me thirstier and thirstier until I can't stop drinking. I'll become a Rogue then."

She nodded. "that's horrible..."

He nodded. "That's what I don't want to happen," he told her gently.

"I can understand being scared about that." she said softly.

He nodded. "Anything else you want to know," he asked.

Niko went down the hallway towards the tech lab, pausing in front of Fairly's room on his way. "You okay," he asked through the door.

she shook her head. "I don't think so. not at the moment."

Fairly opened the door and nodded. "Unpacking."

Niko nodded. "Alright. I'll be down the hall if you need me," he said and walked off to the tech lab to check on the surveillance cameras.

Soon, Fairly went to where he was, looking at all the cameras. "how can you watch all of them at once?"
