"Really? I mean, it's like how we first met as kids..." Alex muttered, following after Sami and then inside to her suite. "So, what's new?" he asked as he sat down on the couch.

She shrugged. "Besides for everything?" She asked, going to her fridge and grabbing a coke.

Alex chuckled, sighing. "I guess I'm just nervous....It's been forever since I last saw you and, well, you surprised me." he said, watching Sami get a coke.

She sat on the table in front of him, crossing her legs. She let her accent show now. "I surprise a lot of people." she said.

"Yeah, tell me about it." Alex said, looking up. "Do you know how Dad is?" he asked, having not contacted him in a year. They had another argument pretty much so, he just stopped calling. It was on the day of his mom's death.

"He's good. Been helping me out with everything. He was pretty upset when you stopped calling. I was in the room." she sighed and looked down. "You should have seen his face..." She shook her head.

"Yeah well, he pissed me off." Alex scoffed, looking away and crossing his arms. "It's like he doesn't even care about mom's death anniversary..." he muttered, closing his eyes tightly.

Sami got off the table and sat in his lap, nuzzling his neck. "That's not it. It may be that it was your mom's death anniversary. I'm always upset the week my family died."

Alex sighed, hugging her gently. "Yeah, I know you are. At least my dad's alive but, sometimes I wonder if he even misses her." he mumbled, nuzzling her neck as well. "I missed you so much, I can't tell you how much.." he said, taking a deep breath.

She sighed. "Are you sure that you can't come with me? I'd feel so much better singing in front of the nation if you were there..."

"Really? Ugh..well, I'll see if I can go on leave for a few days. I've put in extra hours.." Alex muttered, smiling weakly.

She looked at him, her face hopeful. "You'll go with me?"

"If they accept my leave." Alex said, smiling. "But uh, either way. Let's just relax. Take a shower and go to bed, I'll sleep on the couch for now. Those shots are getting to me, especially the beer. Not a good combo." he said, rubbing his eyes.

"You don't have to sleep on the couch." she said softly, getting off of him. "The bed's really big... I mean, if you want."

Alex blushed, but nodded. "Ok, that doesn't sound too bad." he chuckled weakly, getting up and taking off his jacket, folding it and laying it on the couch. He then sat back down and took off his boots, rubbing his feet a bit. "These boots are just killing me..agh." he mumbled, shaking his head and remaining in his long pants and shirt. "So, uh, should I just close my eyes when you change into your uh..sleep-wear?"

She smiled, kissing his lips lightly. "You're such a gentleman. I love it." she said softly.

Alex chuckled, smiling. "I know. That's why I act it." he winked. "Now come on, go change." he said, closing his eyes and grinning.

She smiled, grabbing some clothes and quickly changing. "alright." she said. "you can open 'em." She was wearing some short shorts and a tank top. Something she always wore to bed, even when they were teen agers.

Jake opened his eyes, almost bulging out. He had almost forgotten she wore those kinds of clothes to bed. He sighed, nodding and getting up. He then got into the bed, under the covers. "Uh..night." he smiled, closing his eyes and turning on his side, his back facing her.

That wasn't what she was expecting. She sighed and nodded. "Night."

He didn't expect himself to turn away like that either. Still, they weren't kids anymore. They were adults. "I'll try my hardest....To be able to come with you." he said quietly, yawning silently.

"It doesn't matter." she said softly. How come they couldn't have a normal relationship? Now more than ever she wanted to be held, to be made sweet love it. It had been so long...

Alex did want a relationship with Sami, but they had an odd history. What, with Mike and his own drama. Then again no relationship was ever normal. Just the opposite. He nodded to himself silently, turning over and looking at her in the eye. He then leaned forward and kissed her softly.

She kissed back just as softly. She didn't want to push him, she loved him, really.

Alex closed his eyes slowly, caressing her cheek as he deepened the kiss. He wanted this. He wanted her. As he kept the liplock in place, he pulled her closer.
