A Werewolf's Heart Part 1.3

She shrugged, cuddling closer to him. "I think I have a crush and I pressed my nose to Zach's before I came here." She whispered.

"Good." his mom said softly. "I really just want you happy."

"Zach? That boy you were playing with," he asked, looking over at them. He was talking to his mom.

Zach smiled. "Can we stay here, Mama? Please?"

Kale nodded. "Yes. I think he's nice and there's so many cool things that I can show him around here. Is it normal for me to feel like this?"

Franny nodded. "Yes, we'll stay here."

Brados chuckled. "when you like someone, yes."

Zach smiled and hugged her. "Thank you, Mama!!"

"But it's confusing..." she said again.


Franny laughed, holding her son close. "I love you, my son."

He chuckled softly. "I still get confused with your mommy sometimes, you know that?"

Zach smiled. "I love you, too, Mama."

Kale pulled back to look at him. "really?"

Franny held her son close, protectively.

Brados chuckled. "Really. Ask her yourself, if you don't believe me."

Zach yawned, nuzzling his mother. This is usually how she held him when it was time to go to bed.

She looked shocked. "What do you get confused about?"

Franny kissed his forehead. "Are you sleepy?" it was a little late, but, she didn't know if they were to be given dens or if they were on their own.

"Sometimes, I don't know what makes Mommy happiest," he told her. "It's mainly when she gets cranky."

Zach nodded, closing his eyes. "Uh-huh..."

"But mommy is happy." she said, as confused as ever.

"alright." she said, standing up with Zach still in her arms. She went over to the man who seemed to be in charge. Brados.

"I want to make her more happy," he told his daughter. He looked up at the woman who was holding Zach.

Kale sighed, nuzzling her dad's neck again, deciding to be shy at the moment.

Franny was nervous. "Uhm... My son is tired. I was wondering if you have extra dens for us or if I should make our own." she said softly, looking down.

Brados thought a minute. "Hmm... We'll have to coordinate." He turned to Nick. "How about the woman and children stay in the dens and the men sleep outside until we dig some more dens?"

Nick nodded. "That sounds good. We should have enough dug in about five days. Ilane, Sam, Izzy, Bri, Conall, Raini, Kendal, and Olivia will stay in our den, and so on and so forth. It won't be comfortable, but we'll have to make due."

Brados nodded and looked back to Franny. "How's that sound?"

"Daddy, I want to stay with you." Kale said, tightening her grip. She still thought that her dad would leave after a little while.

Franny shook her head. "That's okay." she said softly. "I can make our own temporary one until there's permanent ones made.

Brados hugged her. "You stay inside so you're warm with mommy and Conall," he kissed her forehead.

Nick looked at Franny. "It's alright. Use our dens. They'll be warmer. It's getting colder at night."

Kale shook her head, Clinging tighter. "No..."

Franny held Zach close. "Do I have a choise?" she asked, half kidding.

Nick chuckled. "It's mainly a precaution against your and your child freezing in your sleep. You'll be safe - I promise." He wondered why she was so against sleeping in their dens.

Kale sighed, almost falling asleep now.

Franny nodded. "Alright." she said, holding onto Zach like Brados held Kale, only, Franny looked as if Zach was getting heavy and he was.

Brados motioned for Franny to follow him. "Come on. You can sleep in my den," he said and headed there, holding Kale effortlessly.

Sami had a small fire going with Izzy in her arms and Conall sleeping already. She smiled, seeing them walk in. "Hello." she said, softly, not wanting to wake anyone.

Franny smiled, running her hand over Zach's sleeping head. "Hello." she replied.

Brados bent down and kissed Sami softly. "Nick wants all the women and children to sleep in dens. You, Raini, and the kids will sleep in Nick's den. I'm sleeping outside with Kendal and Nick, along with the other males. It's only until we get enough dens made. Shouldn't be more than five days," he explained quietly.

Sami nodded, smiling. "Okay. Uhm... Us kids can sleep on the big bed and you two can sleep on Conall's. It's the biggest of the beds." She said. Conall was asleep in his parents bed anyways.

Franny nodded, going to the empty bed, setting Zach down and kissing his head, going to sit by the fire.

Kale sighed, clinging to her dad. "I want to sleep with you." she mumbled.

Brados chuckled softly. "You can sleep between Uncle Kendal and me. How's that," he asked her softly, nuzzling her gently.

She nodded. "Yes." she mumbled.

Sami smiled, getting up and grabbing a few blankets for him and Kale. she kissed his lips. "I love you."
