A Werewolf's Heart Part 1.3

Zach ran after her, beginning to feel something he used to only feel when his mother was holding him - happiness.

Kale smiled, running away. she was amazingly fast, the fastest in the pack. she wasn't even trying, she only wanted to play.

Zach barked, speeding up.

Dane sat down, watching them, smiling. It looked fun.

Kale kept running, barking playfully.

Zach slowed to a stop, panting. Dane, help me catch her. Once we do, it's her turn to catch us.

Dane shook her head. "No. It's alright." she said softly.

Kale stopped, smiling and wagging her tail. Am I going to fast again?

Zach nodded panting. A little.

Kale bowed her head slightly. Sorry. I like going fast.

Zach wagged his tail. It's okay. It's fun, he said. I like this pack, he barked happily.

Kale went over and nuzzled him slightly. She was developing a crush. Good. You deserve a good pack like this.

Zach would have blushed and hid if he was in his human form. As it was, he did hang his head a little bit pulling his ears back.

She pulled back and looked at him. What's wrong?

Everyone's nice here. she stated softly, smiling.

I'm just not used to it... he murmured.

You will. she said, pressing her nose to his like she'd seen Nick do to Ilane then stepped back, her head hanging low in embarrassment. I'm sorry...

His face would have been red now, if he'd been in his human form. He hid his nose with his paw, embarrassed. I-I'ts okay..

She looked back, sighing and seeing that the pack was forming. we should be there.. she said, going to the packs. Dane was already there. Kale went over to her dad, nuzzling her nose into his hand.

Brados smiled and picked his girl up, nuzzling her.

Zach ran back to his mom and nuzzled her leg.

Kale changed into a human, nuzzling her dad's neck. She was still embarrassed.

Zach's mom sat down on the ground, letting her son crawl into her lap.

Brados smiled. "What's wrong, baby girl," he asked quietly.

Zach shifted into his human form, hugging his mom. "Kale showed me how to play...tag," he told her, remembering the name of the game.

"I'm confused..." she said softly.

She smiled. "Oh yeah? Did you like it?"

"About what, sweetheart," Brados asked, hugging her.

Zach smiled and nodded. "She's really fast. But she's nice."

"boys..." she said softly and simply.

"Do you like it here?" she asked.

Brados blinked. "Confused about boys? What happened."

Zach smiled and nodded. He wasn't as pale as he was after he fought his father. He still looked scrawny and a bit underfed, but that was sure to change with the new pack.
