It's a Love Story

"Have you ever left home?" she asked, walking into the elevator.

"A couple times, to show my horses. But I never left the state," he told her.

she nodded. "You've never showed me a picture of your horses." she said softly.

"Oh. I've got a couple here," he smiled, pulling out his wallet. "This here's Rosebud. She's the sweetest and most gentle, and she loves to run."

"So, if I go to your place, Rosebud is the one I'll ride?" she asked, curious.

He nodded with a smile. "Yep. There are five more; Howy, Blue, Old Star, Krissy, and little Angel."

"Seven horses? How do you keep up with them? I don't remember you mentioning you had seven horses when we talked on the internet..." she said, a little amazed and confused.

"It's real easy," he smiled. "They all play in the field all day. All I have to do is clean out their pens, feed them, and brush them before bed."

she smiled, "Sounds what all my other boy friends did to me." she said. "Talking about boyfriends... We are a couple, right?" She asked, looking up at him. She just wanted it clear.

He looked at her and nodded. "At least.. I hope we are," he told her gently.

she smiled and nodded. "We are. I know we said we were on the internet, but... still. that's the internet." She said, slipping her hand into his again.

He smiled and squeezed her hand gently, holding onto it.

"This is going to be hard." she said softly, looking up at him. "If this week goes as happy as it's going right now, it's going to be hard once you leave."

He nodded. "We'll still talk through the Internet and over the phone. Maybe get myself a webcam," he smiled softly.

She smiled and nodded. "I'd like that." she said, holding his hand with both of hers.

He smiled and put his other hand over hers, holding her hands together on his.

she smiled up at him. "So, what's it like finally being able to talk without typing everything?"

He laughed. "I much prefer talking to typing."

She nodded and moved her hair off of shoulder. "Good. Me too. You know, your voice is... different from what I thought it was." she said. She almost said sexy, good thing she stopped herself.

He chuckled. "I grew up right over there, in Missouri. What'd you expect my voice to sound like," he asked her curiously.

She shrugged. "I'm not really sure." she said softly.

He chuckled. "Well, you're voice is cuter than what I expected. All of you is cuter than I expected," he said with a hint of a blush to his cheeks.

"We exchanged pictures." she said then smiled slightly, looking down. "Guess you can't really show much in a simple picture." she looked at him then bumped her hip against his. "You're cuter than I thought too."

He chuckled. "I guess so. And thanks," he smiled sheepishly.

She smiled. "We should get a cab." she stated once they were onto the street again.
