A Werewolf's Heart Part 1.2

Nick nodded. "And she's doing better now... That's good," he said softly and looked down at Ilane.

"How is she doing? She was pretty busy yesterday." She said, looking at Ilane also.

"She fell asleep before I did," he murmured. "But she's just about as miserable as I am..."

"Well, take care of her. We'll all be okay. I know that." she said softly.

Nick nodded. "I will," he promised with all his heart. He kissed Ilane's forehead softly, trying not to wake her up. "I will," he repeated in a whisper.

Sam smiled. "I really just wanted to make sure that you're okay. You are my last brother. I don't want to loose you."

Nick kissed his sister's forehead. "I told you: you won't lose me," he promised.

Sam nodded and sighed. "I'm sorry to wake you up."

He smiled softly at her. "It's alright. We should probably be getting up anyway."

She shrugged. "It doesn't matter. Half the pack is still asleep from fighting yesterday."

Nick nodded. "Would you mind if I went back to sleep, then," he asked her softly.

"I'll wake you up when we have some food cooked for Ilane." She said softly, standing up.

"Thank you, Sam," he murmured wholeheartedly to his sister.

She nodded. "You're welcom." she said walking out.

Nick laid back down and wrapped his arms around Ilane, closing his eyes and sighing softly.

"Was that Sam?" Ilane asked, half asleep.

Nick nodded. "Yeah," he murmured to her and kissed her forehead.

She cuddled closer to him, trying to get warm. "What did she want?"

"She was making sure she wasn't going to lose her last brother," he murmured softly, pulling the blanket more securely around her.

"She's not, right?" She asked, finally opening her eyes to look at him.

"No, of course not. Why does everyone think they'll lose me? I have you and the rest of our pack to live for. I'm not going anywhere," he promised.

She smiled. "Good." She said softly. "Baby, I'm really cold."

Nick held her close, sharing his body heat with her. "Is this better," he asked.

She nodded, staying close to him. "Thank you."

"Anything for you," he whispered and kissed her forehead. "I love you, Ilane."
