Finally a home~ Private

Marley took her shower and then went to bed. She couldn't sleep and got up in the middle of the night, going to her bag and pulling out the picture of her and Joshua when they were happy. It was old and torn but it still held the same meaning. She laid down on the bed again, laying the picture next to her. She ran her finger down Joshua's smiling face in the picture and a tear ran from from her eye and onto the pillow. "I'm sorry I hurt you." She whispered. "I still love you."

As the next day came, Joshua arrived early with Max beside him. Ringing the doorbell, he yawned. He had come in his dark blue skinny (not that tight, but loose in the right places) jeans and black hoodie. Max had been on a leash just in case he tried to make a run for it or tackle someone accidentally. "God I hope Marley doesn't answer. Can't handle that drama first thing in the morning.." he mumbled.

Marley was still sleeping when he knocked and Elizabeth and Shawn was at work. She stumbled down the stairs in really really short shorts and a tank top. Her long hair was messy, it was a rather sexy look. She answered the door, still half asleep.

Joshua blushed, but coughed. "Hey. Here's the favorite dog of the year." he smiled, Max barking insanely as he tried to get to Marley. Letting go, the dog ran and tackled onto her, licking her face and whimpering.

Marley laughed, petting Max, and hugging him, trying to calm him down a little. "Aw, Max... I missed you." she said, smiling.

Joshua laughed and grinned. "He's definitely happy to see you. So, where's mom and dad?" he asked as he walked inside and closed the door. He stretched, sitting on the couch and watching Max still licking Marley's cheek and wagging his tail.

She smiled, hugging Max. "I think at work. I don't know. I just woke up." she smiled. Her shirt was riding up from playing with Max. Her stomach was well toned.

Joshua took a deep breath, looking away. Shit, how am I supposed to be relaxed without getting...god. He sighed, whistling. "Well, why don't you get dressed? We could go for a walk." he said, patting Max to come over. He did and licked his hand.

she pulled down her shirt and sighed, sad that her dog moved away from her. He wasn't her dog anymore. She left... "Can't we stay here? We need to talk..."

"About what?" Joshua asked as he was rubbing Max's head as he panted. The dog was just as hers as he was Joshua's, just chose to be more flexible, he went to whomever petted him in the family.

"About us." she said softly, looking at him and playing with her wedding ring.

"Ok....I guess that it's that you want a divorce?" Joshua asked, looking up at Marley with pain in his eyes.

She looked at him, trying to decide what the right thing was. "I think I do..." she said softly.

"So you left and then when you're finally back, you decide you're gonna cut off what we had? So easy?" Joshua asked, looking at Marley and standing. "Fine, if that'll make you happy." he said, the chain around his neck moving a bit as he breathed.

Marley stood up also. "We didn't have much Joshua. What we did have, wasn't working." she said, trying not to break down and tell him how much she'd missed him.

Joshua stayed silent, his eyes moving up and down over Marley. Was this really the girl he had married not too long ago? He sighed, looking down. "If it's what you want, then....I'll sign." he said, sitting on the couch and Max whimpering as he looked between the two.

She nodded slowly. "Alright. I'll get dressed. I'll find a laywer and get the papers."

"Wow, you really are giddy now aren't you?" Joshua scoffed. Grabbing Max's leash, he started for the door. "I'm not gonna stand by and act as if I like this massacre." he hissed, opening and slamming the door shut just as he did those years ago, rushing to the car and trying to leave before Marley could try to stop him.

"Joshua!" Marley yelled, running after him. She easily caught up with him. "What massacre? I'm not ruining anything that wasn't already ruined!"

Joshua sighed, taking a deep breath. He couldn't let himself spill his guts out. Not again. "Just get the damn lawyer and papers.." he said, pulling away from Marley and getting into his car with Max barking and howling. The poor thing didn't want to leave just after seeing his old master again.

Marley sighed and stepped in front of his car. "Don't you dare leave. Not again! I wont let you walk away again and force me to do something I don't want to do!" she yelled.

Joshua twitched. So she wanted to divorce or not!? He got out, scoffing. "What do you mean by that? You were the one who suggested it!" he said, shaking his head and staring at her oddly.

"Get out of the car. You can't just leave again. I left last time because you did!" She said.

Joshua sighed, getting out of his car. "You left because I left? Back then I couldn't handle that my wife had screwed someone else behind my back! But then again, you knew I had done the same.....We'll, we're even. So what is it that you want?" he asked, staring sternly.

"I want you!" She yelled and then sighed. She'd actually said what she really didn't want to. Might as well spill her guts now. "I don't care that you slept with some one else. I did the same. I regret leaving, I really do. My life hasn't been that great and 3 years ago, you wern't helping the way I hoped you would. I was young, how could you really expect me not to get carried away sometimes." She held up her left hand." I haven't taken this off. Not once! If you still hate me, fine. But know that I cried myself to sleep because I missed you. I missed you with every fiber of my being!"
