Kimberly also knew that Damien was also iffy about her starting this case when she was due to have her baby in only two weeks or so. But it was going to be her first case, and she simply could not have turned it down. She had been waiting far too long.

Damien was very nervous bout that. The baby was due soon and her office just was being dicks bout it. Damien had to march in that officeonce and demand that she get days off for holidays. He threated to sue and no company wants that on thier hands when they're trying to attrach clients. Damien was pissed bout thier maternity leave ploicy because Damien knew it was hurting her to walk around for long periods of time due to her swollen feet and back. Plus since she was having a girl she was carring the baby through her mid section not like a boy where it would be like holding a basket ball.

Kimberly personally didn't mind the extra personal load. She felt that eventually the firm would see how serious she was about things, and eventually she would be put into more serious cases. Though, she couldn't lie and say that with the baby almost being due she wasn't exhausted with all of the work pile up.

Admittedly, Kimberly would have appreciated if there had been less papers for her to fill out. But then she rememebred that she was a lawyer, and that lawyers did well even when under pressure. Besides, the baby wasn't coming for another two weeks.

For some reason Kimberly awoke that day feeling very humbled with the world. As if something big was going to happen. She decided to chalk this up to the fact that she was having her first case today. Little did she know. Walking down the staircase in one of her maternity pantsuits, she kissed Deren on the cheek, and then kissed Damien after grabbing a bottle of water.

Deren was being fussy today so Damien would have his hands full with the little defiant toddler.

" Deren, don't throw your toys" Damien said as Deren looked at him and threw his teddy bear on the floor crying his eyes out.

Damien sighed. Whenever Damien had a day off he never got to relax

When kim came down Damien kissed her, " Good luck"

Kimberly chuckled seeing her son throw his teddy bear, and gently ruffled his hair. "Be good for daddy, ok, little man?" she asked him softly. Hearing Damien wish her luck, she smiled. "Thank you, Sweetheart." And with that, she was gone.

Well, now! It wasn't like she was going to be gone forever! Just for a little bit. Sighing softly to herself, she walked off to her car, and then started to drive off. Her stomach was starting to hurt her and she felt as if her whole body were tight like a spring. She shook her head and took a swig from her water bottle. Everything was going to be just fine.

Within an hour, Kimberly's case has began. She felt great being in charge and having someone to support. It was just as she was about to cross examine a witness that she felt something tighten in her stomach. And then something else release. Oh, God. She tried not to focus on it and just continue with her case. But it was quite obvious that people could tell. The case was put on hold, and she was promptly sent to the hospital.

Damien got a call and arrived at the hospital as quick as he could with Deren.

" My wife just came in? Kimberly Vlad?" Damiensaid to the nurse.

"Yes," the nurse said, looking through her files. "We have her in the birthing rooms. She is being examined since she is giving birth prematurely." Looking back up at him and then Deren, she suggested that he have someone come to watch him since children were not allowed in the birthing rooms.

" Deren you be a good boy" Damien said to him.

Deren cried. he didn't know what was going on!.

Damien handed him to a nurse.

"Hey, Sweetie." The nurse said softly, leaning down to look into his eyes. "You know, we have this big playroom with all of these toys for good little girls and boys. Are you a good boy?" she asked Deren, looking at him, smiling.

Kimberly groaned as she could only lay there watching people moveing about going on about her baby and how it might go into distress and how it would need to be hooked up to a breathing machine. Holding her arms across her stomache, she sighed. This hurt more then when Deren had been born. She was starting to regret opting for natural birth.

Deren cried softly holding himself close to the nurse. He was scared.

Damien was lead to the birthing room.

" Kimmy" he came to her side taking her hand, " Are you alright" he siad with a shaking voice kissing her hand repeatidly.

The nurse smiled weakly. "I'll take that as a yes." she mumbled, starting to walk with him to the children's wing of the hospital. Though, it was more like dragging him while he clung to her leg.

Kimberly chuckled weakly. "Hey, what are you all worried about?" she asked, leaning up to kiss his cheek. "I'm the one having the baby here." Laughing softly, she then groaned as her body trembled as she went through another contraction.

"It really hurts, Damien." she whispered softly, letting herself rest against the pillows. How could this be happening now? This wasn't how today was supposed to have turned out. She should have been back at work, continuing her case.

"There are no pain killers." Kimberly murmured. When a woman opted for natural birth, that meant natural birth. The doctors did not keep pain killers around just incase the woman wimped out and changed her mind later.

"Just stay with me, ok?" she whispered softly, gently nuzzling his neck. Kimberly didn't want to be alone through this. She wasn't going to die, but that fact still didn't make things hurt any less.
